On our side, the right side, it's generally believed that Trump VP choice, Pence, was the compromise he made with the GOP establishment. Pence didn't even endorse Trump before Indiana GOP primary. So as long as it is Trump, not Pence that is the president, LGBTQ community will prevail. (Check out Trump's stand on Caitlyn Jenner's bathroom choice in Trump tower in an interview.) I sincerely hope I'm right about this.

But that is part of the reason we have a bill of rights, so the majority can't impose their views on a minority. If the majority of a state is white supremacist, should people not be allowed to marry outside their race? It's things like this why some of the most intelligent people in history, including the founding fathers, hated democracy, it's "two coyote's and a lamb deciding what's for dinner." There is no reason for gay marriage to be illegal that doesn't involve religion and the first amendment it there to create a "separation of church and state", which is why the Supreme Court rule baring gay marriage to be unconstitutional.
You've got to understand that Trump is a Conservative, and as such he believes that government at least on the federal level, should be limited to the bare necessities. The federal government should not make decisions like that, that should be done at a state level.

it shouldn't have even been a decision the states do not get to decided which basic rights people are and aren't allowed in the constitution, we should not leave it up to the states because there is no guarantee that the states will respect everyone's right. The same way that legalizing interracial marriage shouldn't be left up to the states. Besides most of America is Christian and I would have a very very hard time letting the Christian decide which rights people should and should not have.

Most transgender, especially those who didn’t transition completely have mental health issues even without medication, starting with depression. over 41 percent of trans men and women are estimated to have attempted suicide - a rate that's nearly nine times as high as the rate of cisgender Americans. So the military is not a children’s birthday party, you get screamed at, insulted and punished, do you really think it’s a good idea to put people who already suffer from depression in a place which can break someone who didn’t have issues before? Do you really think it’s a good idea to put someone who has mental health issues in a place where they have access to guns, grenades and explosives? A study from Boston published earlier this year in the Journal of Adolescent Health, reported that 180 transsexual youth (106 female-to-male; 74 male-to-female) had a two-fold to three-fold increased risk of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety disorder, suicidal ideation, suicide attempt, self-harm without lethal intent, and both inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment compared to a control group of youth. Although the authors were sympathetic they still commented that “a significantly higher proportion of transgender adolescent and emerging adult patients were burdened by mental health concerns than cisgender youth”. You really think that a person who is more likely to commit suicide should be in an environment that is full of lethal weapons? A study published in PLoS One in 2011 of over 300 people who had undergone sex reassignment surgery in Sweden over the past 30 years reached a very sombre conclusion: “Persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population. This finding supports a previous study of male-to-female transgender persons in the Netherlands, which found that the number of suicides among male to-female transgender persons was much higher than the expected mortality for the Dutch male population.” Too often it is glibly asserted that troubled youths can deal with their psychological conflicts by transitioning to a different gender. They are either deceiving themselves or being deceived. The facts are there for anyone, especially those considering sexual reassignment surgery, to see: for many people life as a transgender is full of psychological pain. Do you really think it’s a good idea to put people who already suffer from mental health issues in an environment who is not made for people with mental health issues, even worse a lot of soldiers developing mental health issues during their military time. Do you really think a person who already suffers from anxiety, depression etc will be okay to be screamed at, insulted, dehumanized on a daily basis? What happens in case of a war? What do you think will a person do with anxiety depression and other mental issues? Do you really think they can serve your country? Assuming the transgender survives the military training. The drill instructor doesn’t care about your feelings during the training he/she will scream at you and if you cry he/she will even scream at you some more and most likely insult you and punish you for being weak! Um. He says he wants to defend LGBTQ+ rights. If you look at his campaign online. It says he wants to overturn the legalization of same sex marriage and leave the decision to the states. Why??
But that is part of the reason we have a bill of rights, so the majority can't impose their views on a minority. If the majority of a state is white supremacist, should people not be allowed to marry outside their race? It's things like this why some of the most intelligent people in history, including the founding fathers, hated democracy, it's "two coyote's and a lamb deciding what's for dinner." There is no reason for gay marriage to be illegal that doesn't involve religion and the first amendment it there to create a "separation of church and state", which is why the Supreme Court rule baring gay marriage to be unconstitutional.
You've got to understand that Trump is a Conservative, and as such he believes that government at least on the federal level, should be limited to the bare necessities. The federal government should not make decisions like that, that should be done at a state level.
Because he's never pro gay. He just pretend he's neutral. Anyone who's not brain dead should be able to see through his fake skin.

it shouldn't have even been a decision the states do not get to decided which basic rights people are and aren't allowed in the constitution, we should not leave it up to the states because there is no guarantee that the states will respect everyone's right. The same way that legalizing interracial marriage shouldn't be left up to the states. Besides most of America is Christian and I would have a very very hard time letting the Christian decide which rights people should and should not have.

If you had your surgeries and everything you can join, but if you join the military they have to pay for your surgeries, medication, therapy etc. Besides the medication has heavy sideeffects which can affect your mental health and overall health. Most transgender, especially those who didn’t transition completely have mental health issues even without medication, starting with depression. over 41 percent of trans men and women are estimated to have attempted suicide - a rate that's nearly nine times as high as the rate of cisgender Americans. So the military is not a children’s birthday party, you get screamed at, insulted and punished, do you really think it’s a good idea to put people who already suffer from depression in a place which can break someone who didn’t have issues before? Do you really think it’s a good idea to put someone who has mental health issues in a place where they have access to guns, grenades and explosives?
A study from Boston published earlier this year in the Journal of Adolescent Health, reported that 180 transsexual youth (106 female-to-male; 74 male-to-female) had a two-fold to three-fold increased risk of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety disorder, suicidal ideation, suicide attempt, self-harm without lethal intent, and both inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment compared to a control group of youth.
Although the authors were sympathetic they still commented that “a significantly higher proportion of transgender adolescent and emerging adult patients were burdened by mental health concerns than cisgender youth”.

A study published in PLoS One in 2011 of over 300 people who had undergone sex reassignment surgery in Sweden over the past 30 years reached a very sombre conclusion:

Our findings suggest that sex reassignment, although alleviating gender dysphoria, may not suffice as treatment for transsexualism, and should inspire improved psychiatric and somatic care after sex reassignment for this patient group.”
Williams Institute, at the UCLA School of Law, an LGBT think tank, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Their conclusions are also quite sobering:
“The prevalence of suicide attempts among respondents to the National Transgender Discrimination Survey (NTDS), conducted by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and National Center for Transgender Equality, is 41 percent, which vastly exceeds the 4.6 percent of the overall U.S. population who report a lifetime suicide attempt, and is also higher than the 10-20 percent of lesbian, gay and bisexual adults who report ever attempting suicide.”
None of these sad statistics is news. The risks have been widely studied for years. Too often it is glibly asserted that troubled youths can deal with their psychological conflicts by transitioning to a different gender. They are either deceiving themselves or being deceived. The facts are there for anyone, especially those considering sexual reassignment surgery, to see: for many people life as a transgender is full of psychological pain.
Do you really think it’s a good idea to put people who already suffer from mental health issues in an environment who is not made for people with mental health issues, even worse a lot of soldiers developing mental health issues during their military time. Do you really think a person who already suffers from anxiety, depression etc will be okay to be screamed at, insulted, dehumanized on a daily basis?
What happens in case of a war? What do you think will a person do with anxiety depression and other mental issues? Do you really think they can serve your country?
