      I just came back out to the field and did the same thing left handed (I throw both). My left anhyzers DEFINITELY need work. I’ve never really used them as I have my right hand. BUT, I do see the value of having a lefty anhyzer as an option.

    Most of my field work is approach shots. I will start at 100ft. Throw 4 LHBH and 4 LHFH. Putt 4 putts from the farthest out for both backhand and forehand shots. If I make 4outof 4 putts I move back to 130ft. I will putt out each set until I make at least 3, then try again. Usually I can make it out to 190-200ft. This helped me get really comfortable with forehand approach shots and it helps put pressure on putts.

    I think it'd be really fun to watch a forehand backhand challenge. Recently Trevor's forehand has been pretty solid and Hunter definitely leans on his backhand, so besides circle 2 and in putting, Hunter is only backhand and Trevor is only forehand.
    It'd also be really fun to watch a bag swap now that Trevor is on DD.

    Just getting into Disc Golf, and have been working on my form.. From all my years playing baseball I am more comfortable throwing forehand. I am having a hard time getting used to throwing backhand. It is super frustrating I seem to still be grip locking which you talked about in a previous video. Any advise?

    • @dgskywalker691
      @dgskywalker691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was my issue several years ago when I started playing. My advice is to use your forehands when you need confidence in your shot and practice backhands until you get more comfortable with them.
      I noticed backhands were more common and I felt “wrong” for throwing them all the time so I forced myself to throw backhand and it worsened my game. I accepted that forehands are just my strength instead of not feeling bad for being different and use them when I need a confident shot. I’ve practiced backhand form and drives and can now throw as far as I can forehand.
      Also, keep your eyes on the target when throwing backhand approaches. You don’t need the full power throw that forces your head to turn on your reach back on most BH approaches. This helped my accuracy tremendously.
      Sorry for the long winded reply. Best of luck

      I did some field work yesterday and had a moment where something clicked. I was about 200ft out from my basket practicing upshots;LHBH with Wardens and one Envy. I kept turning my Wardens over. I decided it was because the release was not great and that I need more spin. So I curled my wrist a bit more on my reach back and changed my grip to more of a power fan grip. All the sudden the discs started flying dead straight and farther with the same amount of power. Immediately I went tomy bag and chucked drivers and fairways.I put full power on my flippy River and it flew straight for 340ft. Then threw my Explorer 350+ which I had never done before. In fact the 7 speed Explorer went just as far as my drivers. I guess I have a 7 speed arm. If you're turning over discs it may be the release could be cleaner and the disc needs more spin. I would have scoffed at this before yesterday.
