Yo Joseph, did you know that Machine Duplication says that it has to target a monster with 500 ATK or less? It doesn't say original ATK, so it cannot be used on Card Trooper after it pumped itself. That said, I am okay with it this time, because its better to put Alex out of his misery quicker.
I think the same goes for ring of destruction, think cimo had a turn left in him

Watching Cimo let the Machine Duplication resolve when he had a face down Ring of Destruction was almost as bad as watching Gauge put Terraforming in his deck with no field spells.

Sounds like the dawn of "deck stacking" to me. Even Perfect Circle requires a bit of luck, but luck is not necessary if you know how to guarantee you draw that Machine Dupe.

it should. Machine Dupe says in its resolution text "same name as that face-up monster". If there's no face-up monster it shouldn't be able to resolve

@@Alb410 Nope, the special summon with same name is after the semicolon, so you check the name when it resolves.

Since I clearly can't ready, at the time I didn't realize that Ring would've in-fact prevented Dupe from resolving.
So I wasn't being greedy, I was just being dumb. 😂

Dude showing three games no matter what is genius! My biggest problem with this series has always been that you can usually judge by the length if it’s going to be 2-0 we’re going to game three, effectively half spoiling the outcome. Not only does this fix that problem but it gives us more content! I hope they do this from now on

I've watched it tribute a synchro to TRIBUTE SUMMON a BEWD, miss lethal because of this, have the BEWD killed by a card effect, and then lose the following turn.
All while having a completely valid option to special summon a different BEWD from the deck for game.
So yeah.

I'm still waiting on the Synchro era, to see new stuff. That's when I just dropped EVERYTHING Yugioh (Wasn't enjoying the 5Ds anime either). I hated the new mechanic, I hated that tuners could be whatever card they decided to slap the text "tuner" on, and I didn't like the white on the Synchros, but I was also like 10ish. So, I'm curious to see how the meta development goes, with the new summoning mechanic that my angry child head got so upset over. Especially early on, with the limited selection of tuners.

@@AsThePokeballTurns Double checking the Progression Series, about 5 packs away. Since History of Yugioh makes episodes for more than just the core sets, it could potentially be a few more than 5 episodes. So, between 1 and 2 months from now, in real time.

I think that something cool you could do during formats with very diverse metagames is to spin the wheel 3 times and have your best of 3 being played with different decks for each duel to show off the different decks in the format.

This series has inspired me. In the extraordinarily unlikely event that I ever dump the money into a deck that has a shot at topping, and get good enough that I feel confident I could top an event, I am 100% gonna put some weird ass, near useless card at 1 in the side deck, just so that in the future, in a video like this, there will just be immense confusion

That may well be the worst single performance from any deck the entire History series, yikes. I don't think they made a single play beyond a single normal summon and Cydra. Shien and Grandmaster are great in theory, but awful if you can't stick monsters on board.

Cimo great choice to play six samurai that deck didn't even play off of the strengths of the exam in the first place, I believe at the time they even had a revival trap for two monsters and it wasn't in there.
ngl I actually played marauding captain in my og six sam list because even 13 year old me figured out that was the only consistent way to maintain even a semblance of board presence. That being said I really think you opted to play six sams too early, because Enishi and Cunning come out next set, and United comes out the set after that, and those two cards did make the strategy a fair bit more viable (Cunning not so much, but it's still decent).
I love old sixsams, was my 1st serious deck. I never got a reasoning to hit. I lost basically every game. Exactly like Cimo 😂
Playing 3 games regardless of the out come is a nice idea... there should be a "beanie of extra shame" or something if you do get 3-0'd though...
Teledad is right around the corner in the fall of 2007 which will be in like 2 episodes and will last for like 30 episodes
PTDN came out in January 2008 though, and the Tele- part of Tele-DAD wasn't released until August. That being said, 2008 will be all about Dark Armed Dragon, I agree. PTDN will give us Return DAD, then we'd have Tele-DAD from TDGS all the way to what, Crimson Crisis? That's gonna be 4-5 episodes of Dark Armed Dragon.
Not that I'm complaining, Dark Armed is my favorite card of all time, followed by Stardust both primarily due to Tele-DAD.

My best friend's favorite deck was always Six Samurai back then. I never understood why he liked it so much; It was bad. But I probably was running something like Zombie Dark World, so what did I know. I knew that zombies could spam the field better than Six Sams, that's what I knew.

Pot of Avarice has actually become one of my favorite cards lately after calling it garbage for so many years. Obviously I played Extravagance and Desires like everyone else (I stopped playing before Prosperity released), but I’ve picked up both Strikers and Prank-Kids among other things since downloading Master Duel and getting back into Yugioh and Avarice has become a staple 2-3 of in both. It can be a dead card at times but so can Extravagance/Prosperity if you top deck it after a turn or two of combos, and Desires can straight up lose you games in some cases. They all have their drawbacks, but with the rate that almost all modern decks can shit monsters on the field (and subsequently the graveyard) I’m surprised it doesn’t see a lot more play than it does. After the luck I’ve had with Desires in Tri-Zoo I’m tempted to try it there too.

Cimoo should have snatched a card trooper game 1. If he thought about the math it would have gave him the best chance of winning. Instead he set snatch steal as a bluff. We’d be looking at potentially 900 more damage, another snipe roll potentially, and threatening a fairly possible otk mext turn, but as usual, Da C Dude gotta make JoJo less violent
One ruling mishap this time, right at the end of game 3 Iron hit over Dekoichi and Joseph incorrectly drew a card despite Irou’s effect stopping flip effects from triggering.
Doesn’t *really* matter, I think it just would have delayed the game 1 turn as he dug slightly deeper for Machine Dupe
Chain Ring to Machine Duplication, Card Trooper dies and Dupe loses it's target. Or take 5700 damage to the dome, that works too.
Ring would negate Machine Dupe since the monster would no longer be on the field.
Kinda reminds me of the Duel Puzzles from the DS games.
Six Sam is my total fav deck after because it’s actually fun unlike most existing that just win turn 1 and it makes games last a bit but it’s happens rarely the time that it pops off you’re just so happy it’s good and it’s fun I hope they do it later in the series when there’s stuff like gateway of the six at three and Kizan and shi en out
The way I always built my casual Six Samurai deck with the originals was as a warrior deck using the Six Samurai. Wish I had a chance to play or have some of the newer Six Samurai stuff. Looked like it gave them a huge power boost so they could be their own deck.

Crystal Beast was actually relatively good during 2007/2008 YGO. I fucking threw topping SJC Arizona, pilotting Crystal Beast to close to the top tables during swiss and bubbling due to losing in time with an advantageous boardstate. Opp played suspiciously slowly, and most upsetting of all was if I made one different play I would have won in time and topped. Pitched the wrong card with Lightning Vortex. >:C Was the highest x-2 going in to the final round due to my losses being at the top tables and my wins not dropping and placing well.
2007/2008 is my favorite era of YGO. I miss it so. ♥
