Thanks for this- I live here and didn't know about this place! I live here in Tampaksiring and had the first fusion restaurant in Seminyak ,Bali in 1987. So I'm ancient with a rollator walker. 1) I notice there is a drive way besides the restaurant in your vlog.Do you think that can be used to access the restaurant by people who have problems with stairs? 2) Was that their full menu at present you put up? 3) Steak! Imported beef is better but risky due to the lack of refrigeration knowledge by underlings in restaurants with menus the size of the bible. They are are unpaid interns who come from Balinese families who market fresh produce each day and don't have a fridge. 4) There is nothing wrong with the local beef except that it is not hung long enough. When I had my restaurant I used to have to go into the local markets pre dawn and find the fillet in the still steaming carcass. It was all the same price per kilo then. The trick is to find a papaya- riper the better, cut it half long wise, mash the flesh, put the fillet in, wrap it up and keep in the fridge for 10 days. Just as good as you would get in Oz-Cheers.

Well thanks for watching the video. That pathway leading to the restaurant is about 100m and there's a few steps down from this to the restaurant. There is a Spa I think before the restaurant on that path and whether there is access around that and down into the restaurant I couldn't say. The menu did seem quite limited to what's in the video so not a large variety of dishes need to be catered for and although we didn't look in the kitchen it seemed quite large so would anticipate refrig was there. However with that steak tasting a bit oversalted maybe salt could have be used in preserving like in the good ol' days. Otherwise we enjoyed it's food and location.

The over salting thing is more about not knowing how the food should taste. There are now all these 'tourism ' colleges--even a university faculty dedicated to 'What they think Westerners Want.' I've found my friends in the hospitality sector here sighing and having to 'undo' what these graduates were taught. I'm sure Margot's has fridges- but knowing how to use them is a different matter. I've been fighting the battle of the 'refrigerator' here for 35years. Not long ago in my darling highlands joglo I explained it all to my staff including what shelf the fish and seafood go in, vegies, dairy products etc. I came home and they had put all the tins of tuna and sardines dutifully on the right shelf. etc@@bali-days
