      surely profitable. yet quite an operation to manage. 1000HA is a very large parcel to upkeep. the cost of the acquisition, prepping the grounds, 160+ people working daily, cost of production, transportation, materials, energy, water the list goes on. the avg retail is $3, so sure $1 direct from farmer seems about right. Guam produces a pineapple for about half a dollar. so if this operation is netting 1.5mm a year ... that's strong in Ghana. and great for the gdp. Of course there are a handful of others means to generate that 1.5mm/year without managing such a large operation. thankful for the family keeping that in ghana and they deserve what they reap for having the insight of buying land over the past few decades and creating such an operation. go ghana! wish had some of that pineapple right now

The daughter said in the reportage that her father who is a Ghanaian established the farm. Really, race is of no relevance to me concerning ownership. What is important is the fact that job is being created for the people who need it and the economy is growing exponentially to create more avenues for jobs. If a Black/ Afrikan or European/Asian creates job what difference does the race has to do with it. Everybody is welcome.

Like Vanessa Kanbi, this biracial woman will likely marry a white man, and pass ownership of this sacred Afrikan soil unto their non-Black children.

    Greetings from French Guiana. Kudos to Vanessa for this great video. I am myself a pineapple producer in this small country in South America. I would definitely enjoy more videos on agriculture in Ghana. Keep up the good work!

    💯 ORGANIC MAMA AFRICA PINEAPPLE. NO GMO... NATURAL TASTE...NO CHEMICALS🌲🌿🍍🌲🇬🇭🌲🍍🌍

    • @TheDubChi
      @TheDubChi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Do you mean that these are organic pineapples? I saw a lot of chemical spraying in this video. Totally understandibly since it is for export but in general it is recommended to African farmes NOT to repeat the same mistakes already made in the US, Europe or China. Organic is definitely more sustainable and safe for humans and environment. This put aside, still a very good business and salute to the ones runnning it!
