Get yourselves one of those litter picker things the council use so you can grab stuff from the bottom of the bins you cant reach into. Great vid 👌🏻 👍 👏
i used to DD my local currys store, great for free boxes and bubble wrap ect,i would often find brand new hoover accessories for shark/dyson and oven parts like trays ect brand new in packaging ,it was always a bonus and there would sell like hot cakes ;)
I use to work In a charity shop and every 3 week to 4 weeks anything that didn't sell went in the bin only the clothes got recycled. It's crazy that it is done like this they should like u said put it as free. There's some really good stuff u found in the bins
I know it's crazy! I don't know why they dont send it off to auction or carboot sales themselves to raise more money! But if they wont do it we will do it instead lol
This isn't were Toms Tat is going to go. My business still continues as normal. I have made a new channel for this content as i know it's not everyone's cup of tea. Tom's tat will still continue as normal but anyone that wants to see the dumpster diving content can do that on the new channel. This is just an extra way for me to find stuff to sell. But tbh I mostly do it for fun.
Absolutely mental what some shops throw away and like you say it’s disgusting charity shops get their stock for free and rather than pass it on to someone else for free they throw it away
I know mate it's actually disgusting that they would rather send it to land fill over just letting someone have it for free and make use of it. The worst thing is the retail parks that purposefully slash it all up so no one can make use of it. it's sickening. Thats something I want to expose to people on the new channel as a lot of people don't know that this is happening.
good stuff mate! I like to collect and repair anything from PCs to Hoovers or furniture! ill take on any project worth while, just need to sell stuff now. Give us a shout, I'm all for the cause, fully qual eng doing scooters too!😉
32:20 Yep... manufacturers oblige stores to cut their clothes/shoes before binning them so that you can't fish them out and resell them. Some do, some don't. 41:30 Oh Crosley... strange brand. Their actual old stuff is pretty decent, but the newer vintage _style_ stuff being sold in their name might as well go straight from the factory to landfill.
Tom how much do you want for that African Grey statue I've got an African Grey Parrot and we did have a statue which sadly broke please let me know and your a hero for saving this stuff and it's crazy what chairty shops do, landfill over profits
Good video, be careful reselling some of the TK Maxx electrical though. Lots for the stuff you find in the bins at Maxx are product recalls and are potentially dangerous, Most big Tk maxx stores will have white posters in the front window telling customer which recent electricals may have faults.
What time do you go so dumpster diving just wonder as obvs night but about what time would you say so no one’s around? Loving the dumpster diving vids I’ve subscribed to your other channel too 🫶🏼😊
Insane what shops throw away instead of donating. Heads up on the B and M stuff, I used to work there and iirc the 47 written on the items means they are faulty
It's not trespassing. Yes it's private property. But if there are no locked gates, fences, signs etc stopping you from just walking up to the bins then it has an implied right of access to the public. It only becomes trespass if the owner asks you to leave and you dont leave when they ask. It's not theft because it is discarded waste. Once it is waste it has no owner. Your welcome.
You just know that CEX unboxed that sealed ps2 controller 😡 such a stupid policy on retro stuff! As for the charity shops chucking away a expensive record player, thats disgusting. The person who donated that probably knew its worth but rather than sell it themselves thought they would give it to charity to make some money out of and all they do is chuck it in the bin!
Yea thats what we thought about the controller box. Must of been traded in sealed then they opened it and threw the box away! That would of been worth about £60 sealed on eBay but they took it out and sold the controller for like £15 lol fucking idiots! And yes the waste is disgusting! That was a £100 record player! Wrecked because they left it out in the rain because they cant be bothered to test it! Sadly we live in a throw away society. But it's fun going out trying to rescue stuff from the land fill!
£150 lawn bowls? broken and useless? brand new boxed items? broken and useless? If it was all broken and useless we wouldn't me making hundreds of pounds from it. The only thing that is broken and useless is you.
Stores throw things away because they can claim it back on tax as a loss, as for charity shops, they shouldn’t be throwing away stuff they could mark down
nah this seems abit desperate to me, as a reseller myself i see this as abit dodgy, I mean what do you say to the accountant and tax man about where all this free stock comes from? Oh i just rob bins at night....
It's not desperate. I don't need to do this. We started doing it for a bit of fun but after realising how much stuff we can get for free it's a no brainer. There is hundreds/thousands of pounds worth of stuff just sitting there. Not only are we saving stuff from landfill but we're making lots of money from it. The only difference when doing my taxes is I dont put these things down as an expense because they were free. And it's not "Robbing".
@TOMS_TAT I agree its a waste that shops do this but tbh it does look abit shady. I mean if it was perfectly OK to do then it would be done in the day time not the dead of night. Either way mate its only a worthless opinion but yea

"Even the TV, if it doesnt work ill throw it in the auction" .. So you'll sell known broken items at auction as working for some poor idiot to get home and its broke? Disgusting
No. I'll sell it at auction as Untested or spares/repairs. Because you know, people buy broken electricals cheap at auction so they can fix them and sell on. Moron.
@@TOMS_TAT Ive done more auctions than youve sold items on ebay. NOBODY lists stuff as spares. they are a haven for broken items hidden behind the mystery of not knowing if they are working or not. Think that may have sold at the carboot we did unfortunately.
I volunteer part-time at a charity, and you'll be surprised as it's the bric a brac that usually sells the most.

Is this not classed as theft even if it is in the bin ?
No

Nice bit of illegal trespassing and theft from a private property there Tom. Good job. Thanks for filming it.
Wrong.

Do you think I didn't look into the legalities of this before doing it?
