He was related to the great Will Rogers on his father’s side; part Cherokee. Fine actor, and a lovely gentleman, no airs about him. Rest In Peace, sir.
You can look and listen and immediately flash back to him in character. He has a unique sound as if he is just slightly intoxicated or on something and of course was every girl's heart throb on screen.
Mr. Gulager, I had such a crush on you, and still do! Always loved watching you act. I still watch The Virginian reruns. Your a great performer! Take care, God bless you for all of the wonderful memories!!
"I don't have to tell you anything, dick brain!" ROTLD 1985 "There is nothing and I mean nothing wrong with this house!" ANOES2:FR 1985 ""Send Beck to my office, John, bye!" The Hidden 1987 RIP you legend and sweet man, you were beautiful! 93 ain't that bad.
What a great interview ! Always enjoyed the performances of Clu Gulager ! And he's still with us at the age of 92 ! Bless his heart ! And thanks for sharing this fab footage with us ! Mr Longworth is an xlnt interviewer ! :-)
He’s so funny. i love it. and i do remember him - yup. i was just about 11 or 12 and really thought he was quite pretty. glad to see he worked so much and had a good life. 😋🌷🌱
I know Congress is bad now, but I'm not so sure that it was all that morally upright back then either. Congress members back then were hypocritical when they came together to cancel a show like THE TALL MAN because of the negative message it sent to kids about celebrating a villianous outlaw like Billy the Kid but allowed a very violent show like the UNTOUCHABLES to continue. Just like today, optics is more important than substance! smh
I got to meet Clu Gulager in a pinball arcade at Maggie Valley NC > he was there to make his entrance for the Maggie Valley shootout. We shot a game together and he left some on the machine.
I loved watching him in The Tall Man. Never skipped the episodes. After years, it took some time to remember his name, but then, suddenly, it came whole.
Just watched "The Virginan' ( 1964 The Payment)..laughed at the tiny bit of red paint that represented blood..never a hole. A takes me back to being 9 again.
"Clu Gulager is from Holdenvville,Oklahoma and i'm from also from Oklahoma and still live here i'm originally from Lone Grove,Carter County,Oklahoma I'm currently living in Mannsville,Johnston County,Oklahoma and I'm glad to know that there are so many great actors and actresses from Oklahoma and Clu is one who I've seen in many tv series as either a regular or guest performer & many films as well."-🤠🐴🏜🌐..
Also, later in the 60's there was a one season TV Western "The Legend of Jesse James" starring the late Christopher Jones. That one also portrayed murderer & bandit Jesse in a positive light. Around that time (my 60s childhood) I got a board game for Xmas based on that Jesse James series ! The moving pieces were little plastic saddlebags !
RIP Clu Gulagher. Growing up when you were on TV I had a huge crush on you! Such a handsome man! 🙏❤️
Clu is the most beautiful man I've ever seen!! Loved him as Billy the Kid and as Ryker!!

Still easy on the eyes in his senior years. And I like how he grew out his hair! Rest easy, sir.

What a sweet man. So good at playing bad guys. Usually bad guys are nice in real life cuz they have to work well with others to make scene work.
Clu will live forever , R.I.P.
Its 2018. If Congress still had morals & ethics most TV & movies would be canceled. Always liked him.
Education solves most problems ,Indoctrination the N.E.A. boasted they were doing ,causes problems !

He was outrageously great in The Killers.
Wonderful and still so bright!
I remember him in the movie "The Other Side of Midnight" (1977) when he testified against John Beck.
I loved watching him in The Tall Man. Never skipped the episodes. After years, it took some time to remember his name, but then, suddenly, it came whole.
A raise a lager to Clu Gulager.
Cool, cool guy. Even his name is cool. An Oklahoma boy.
Clu and JAMES drury were quite a team on The Virginian
Actors were real men back in the 50s 60s in those westerns.
Clu Gulager was cool before it was cool to be cool.
Just watched "The Virginan' ( 1964 The Payment)..laughed at the tiny bit of red paint that represented blood..never a hole. A takes me back to being 9 again.
Had a crush on him when i was a teenager, so good looking. Love seeing him in the reruns. Class act!

Apparently congress was unaware there was a Billy The Kid comic book.
