I love info on medicinal herbs and plants. Thanks so much :)
Wonderful!! I'm glad the timing was right. The first cut of this video was over 50 minutes. 1) My sound editor's system cannot handle anything over 28 minutes or so. 2) The gusting of wind that day drowned out a lot of additional info. Our sit together interview clip was reduced from 13 minutes to just over 2... WIND obliterated the dialogue and at one point the camera almost blew over. So I had to cut to the most minimum of her sentences, but managed to get almost everything at least mentioned. The sage clip was so jumpy I wanted to leave it out, but there are workarounds for video that won't work in audio. Anyway, I figured you would enjoy it. Please share! ❤

Medicinal herbs used to be all we had until pharmacology advanced & discovered how to process them, synthesize them & create more cost effective synthetic versions that could be delivered in more concentrated &/or easier forms. Of course today’s medications aren’t the more natural versions of yesteryear. Many drugs used today still have herbal components for ingredients. Ranka, how old are your aronias? Also, thank you so much for sharing your garden! I learned so much from you. We have garlic mustard and teasel growing wild on our property. I will be sure to use it in the spring! Great video, Kaye!
Thank you, Tracy! If you are on Instagram, you will be inspired to follow her @thehealingberrygarden I helped her set up the page while I was there, and it just took off. So did her photography. Everything she does, she does with intention and grace.
Hi Tracy, thank you so much for your sweet words. My aronia berry bushes are three years old. They produce so many berries even in the worst weather. Highly recommended, even though the berries are neither sweet nor juicy. :-) So nice to hear you too have garlic mustard and teasel. Those wild plants are nice to have in the garden, I agree. :-)
@@thehealingberrygarden9608 I got the first harvest from my 2 year old aronias this year. Have you pruned them? Mine don't look nearly as bushy. They are about 5 feet tall.
Amazing! She is so radiant and beautiful, as are you Ms. Kittrell. Is she talking about clover at 11:43 where she pulls the blossom apart for salad? Thank you.
Yes I believe so. We had such wind on the mic that day, I had to cut around the noise and seems I didn't include her saying what it was, but it looks just like red clover to me. Thank you so much!
I was wondering about the sign @6:56. Do German people all write their "r's" like this or just a certain age group? I ask because I was raised around German people in the US & they all made their r's just like you do! I was born in the early 1950's! Fantastic garden too!
I know! It's a mystery how she finds so many. She gave me the name of her fruit tree and bush source, but I don't know about the medicinal plants. I hope she will see your comment. I'll ask her to look. She replied to them all early on.
Hi, I guess you meant loveage? Botanical name levisticum officinale. Very prolific. If it comes to fighting inflammation there luckily are so many beneficial herbs out there. Even the wellknown parsley or oregano are on the top list. And they grow even in the tiniest containers. Well, lovage needs a really big container, its a huge herb. ;-)
I wonder if lovage would do well here in my garden. So little sun now with the perennial trees, lemongrass and lemon verbena, and olive tree blocking the sun now low in the sky.
@@Latebloomershow I'm sure you could pull it off, as with the gynostemma, the adaptogen. I did want to mention to you that that curcumin is about 70 bucks for month supply and you can do the same thing with 1/4 cup of turmeric and a half cup of water cooking it down to a paste. Teaspoon of that in a shot of water will make your nose turn up, lol, I use a chaser 👍
@@thehealingberrygarden9608 thank you, im a hunter of all things anti-inflammatory, and if I can grow it I'm screenshoting it into my Library. Ty love the info 😃
I loved your video on medicinal plants, but I had a hard time following the names of each one. If you could insert the names, it would be very helpful. Thanks, Judy D.
I considered this, but with such short clips, the viewer would miss the picture while reading all the names. It would get visually tiring. Rather, I put in the pinned comment that if you have a question, just leave a comment with the timecode and Ranka will be happy to respond to you. Thanks Thanks for watching! Hi Judy. The herbs mentioned are amongst others Greek Mountain Tea (sideritis syriaca), Murdannia (murdannia loroformis), Sedanina (helosciadum nodiflorum), Sannikel (sanicula europaea), Silverweed (potentilla anserina), Broadleaf Plantain (plantago major) and not mentioned, but in my garden too and very powerful: Jiaogulan (gynostemma pentaphyllum). Good luck with growing herbs! Greetings from Germany, Ranka. :-)

Thank you, Jill. Your garden is way more beautiful. ;-)
What a beautiful video and Ranka is a beautiful person, one you would want as a true friend! Beautiful beautiful garden!
What an amazing garden
Thank you so much, Mel. It makes me happy that you liked my garden. :-)
Stellar video, so interesting!
Thank you, Robin!! Please share this with a friend!
Wow...what a sweet lady...she just glows...as does the beauty of her garden...been trying to replace my Crete Mt. Tea plants for a few yrs now...the flowers of the right variety make a very tasty tea...
Hey, there you are! I'm trying to catch up on comments as you can see. This is MY LAST one. I've been sitting here for over two hours, and done about 250. Thanks for watching and please tune in to my livestream on Sunday at 10AM PST and join the conversation!
Moles avoid places with Great Mullin and snails do not like used coffeground, so drink more coffe. Also coffeground attracts earthworms...hope that will help you...Thank you for great info.
Thank you!! Thanks for watching! I hope you will watch the whole Europe playlist! th-cam.com/play/PL7KEhv2No0IBztKdLbDScWhgBRJiTOUxI.html
Thank you, Hanne. Great tipps. I will order Great Mullin seeds to plant around my apple trees, they are so vulnerable! Coffegrounds don't help so much here, because it rains so much in summer. "My" snails even enjoy to crawl over crushed eggshells! ;-)
Those slugs are indestructible!
What a beautiful garden and very nicely done. I wish I had a creative mind like hers😍👍
Me, too! The more gardens I visit, the more I realize my own creative limitations. But, I don't let that stop me!
Fresh can of beer pored in a dish is said to attracked snails. It might work on slugs.
Yes, it works very well. ;-)
Absolutely beautiful garden!!! Thank you for sharing!!! So AWESOME! Sad she doesn't have a Channel, but I will definitely follow her on Instagram!!!
Wonderful!! Yes, everything Ranka does is with intention, grace and artistry. Truly a gem of a person. I helped her set up her Instagram account when I was there and it took off and she produces the cheeriest, colorful photos! You would never know there wasn't a sunny day in Northern Germany looking at her feed. You will love Part 5, our last full day together.
Thank you so much, Brandy. I am really happy you enjoyed my garden. Lots of love, Ranka.
@@tracygarns9611 No, I haven't pruned them. It depends on the variety how they grow. "Aron" is very bushy, "Viking" is very slim, "Hugin" very small.
@@thehealingberrygarden9608 that explains it. I have Viking.
Love this video.
what a fun video ! Does she have a channel ? i need all that info on medicinal plants
I was wondering about the sign @6:56. Do German people all write their "r's" like this or just a certain age group? I ask because I was raised around German people in the US & they all made their r's just like you do! I was born in the early 1950's! Fantastic garden too!
Would you be able to have the names of the plants Ranka mentioned please. They are so interesting plants. Much appreciated.
Where does she find all those medicinal plants from all other countries? She had so many unusual plants.
I know! It's a mystery how she finds so many. She gave me the name of her fruit tree and bush source, but I don't know about the medicinal plants. I hope she will see your comment. I'll ask her to look. She replied to them all early on.
I'm interested in the plant that fights inflammation, I couldn't catch the name. This video is excellent , full of info. Ty.
@@deadlywound1991 I too try to get hold of any anti-inflammatory plant I can. Unfortunately it is way too cold here for turmeric and ginger.
What zone does her garden equate to in America?
Would love to grow all those dwarf berry bushes.
I would think about a 6 because they don't get a lot of snow being near the water, but lots of cold and rain.
Please share this video with a friend!
很療愈的影片!🎄🎄🎄🎄
Please please !!!!!!!!
Please, please...?
Can you please come to my country
Does she have any kind of book outlining her various plants and what they are used for? The video is great but too much to learn at once.
She will be responding to this. I don't think so, but she should create a pdf! Meanwhile, if you are on Instagram you can see how all these beautiful fruits looked when ripe!
Hi Cathie, I will gladly answer every question you have. I can also recommend books and films. You can write me a private note on Instagram if you want (thehealingberrygarden). Greetings from Germany, Ranka.
Thehealingberrygarden thanks! I am looking forward to learning about the healing properties of plants.
My country is Cambodia
