    Kaye, I LOVE this film-making style of video. No narration or music necessary. Simple story telling through conversation and doing with the ambient sound of nature as a score. It's very enjoyable. Thank you!

      Yes in many of my travel videos it was necessary to put in music because the natural nature sounds were drowned out by traffic but here it just wasn’t necessary. Thank you!

    Tulsi is a holy plant in Hinduism and the leaves are used in many religious ceremonies as well as being used in ayurvedic traditional medicine. It's considered very auspicious and spiritually valuable if you are able to grow it - which is often difficult in colder climates.

Tulsi is a wonderful adaptogen! You should also check out shiso if you don't already know about / grow it. This is my 1st year. and it grows like crazy and has wonderful health benefits too AND it's delicious.

    Basil reminds me of rabbit tobacco. I keep a batch of dried mullien leves for coughs. Chicory was scarce this year though i have never tried it. Keep a batch of great burdock for winter potatoes from tubulars also. You just leave the burdock in the ground to dry until winter and set fire to it to cook the tubulars for winter survival food.

      Best of luck, Vicki! The harvest is the goal, but the journey is so important as well. This AM I witnessed literally a million (it seemed) stink bugs destroying my lower garden. We sprayed a week ago, didn't make a dent. We decided to pull out all the squash vines. It was heartbreaking to cut short the development on the squashes, but maybe they will cure ok. Still, I felt so grateful, for the opportunity to try to grow, for help that I found, for what I did manage to grow. God bless!

    I harvested my lemon basil and tulsi about the same time this year...after drying both...decided to combine the two ...makes a delicious tea...with a little raw honey. Did not know you could smoke...neat!!!!

      I didn't either. I can't handle smoke in my throat though. Burns too much.

      Smoking it doesn't seem like a good idea. If you're inhaling, you're putting a real burden on your throat and lungs 🫁

      YES!!! Me, too! I was at Sprouts on Sunday and was sure I would find tea, but nope. With all these benefits, every store selling tea should carry it. It did seem like the tea section was a little bare. Hopefully, that doesn't mean anything. You can buy live plants online, but at this point, you would have to bring them in. And they won't grow much in the winter, if at all.

    With the paper/seed method, I do the same except I spray the paper with water to aid germination. Once they develop 2 leaves I lay the whole sheet on potting soil and the roots go through the paper, into the soil and eventually the paper desolves. Once seedling are big enough to handle, I transplant them. This year I had 42 plants from half a tomato!!!

    • @Latebloomershow
      @Latebloomershow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh my word! I'm going to try this! So, to be clear, you do this when you remove the ziplock from the frig in January, or so, and spray it. But do you use lights or heat during this part?

    • @MsFlipper1969
      @MsFlipper1969 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Latebloomershow I don't keep them in a fridge but a paper envelope in a box once dried. However, the tomatoes I grew this year were from a shop bought fresh tomato. And used to same technique. I just grew them on a windowsill until it was warm enough at night, transplanted them and hardened them off in a mini unheated greenhouse.
