A masterclass in building and weathering. Hundreds of dollars in knives and saws and I still find myself unwrapping a fresh single-edged razor blade, too. Double-sided adhesive tape is way too unforgiving -- I'm using thinned while glue. Respect.
Your work is so amazing! I am a mother of three sons. I have wanted to to have a layout since I was a little girl. My 27 year old and I have been watching your videos. We have been so inspired by your talent Now, my childhood dream is about to come true! We went out this past weekend and bought materials to begin modeling as a family hobby! I'm so excited. Thank you so much for sharing your passion with us!
Three years anniversary, WOW.. indeed your videos along with everything associated with your builds have improved. The elevator is just outstanding. Details have always been strong. Look forward to next build along with your Sci-fi continuing forward..Happy Modeling
Jason, I love the elevator. True genius. It's hard to believe that it has been three years. Congratulations! After June 19 I have some suggestions for the gable windows. If you can't find a vendor who offers a 3D printed window to size, on the gable end inside the layout why not build a simple wood frame and glue in ragged cut acetate. No mutton boards. Make it look like a broken window. On the dock side gable, scavenge from the bits and bobs box for strips of wood in different stains and colors. Also various widths. Cut them to your desired lengths. Then board up the window opening, that is seen as you approach the layout. Jim
Nice to see the layout coming to a finish. Will love to see the trains running thru the town. The building looks great, your weathering of the building is incredible.
Jason you are just beautifully talented a genius within my life time and so happy for you. All my railroading friends depend on you for inspiration, how to do things and the best part, How Will Jason Do It. The railroad group I am in really depend on you due to your availability to instruct because you are so detailed in your teachings of your structures and scenery. Thank you again Jason for your time your knowledge and your video’s. Jason Jensen Trains, #1!!! Stay safe.
Hello Jason, just beautiful, and how everything goes parfectly well in place at the end. The totality of your layout will be outstanding, and don't worry if all is not finish on the third anniversary ... there will be a fourth !!! Thanks to you, keep safe.
Good morning, Jason. Nothing better than a hot mug of morning coffee and one of your build videos! I've been using many of the techniques you've shown us on my current build(s). From painting the Monster Model Works cement walls, to signage, to using black paper for tar paper roofs, to weathering techniques. Keep up the good work! - Paul
Funny how you book end Boomer. Your early 1900's and future , and he's right now . The techniques you both use can be used on all of it. Between the two of you I " think " I can model anything. Your both not only excellent modelers but teachers. Keep up the good work, and thanks.
The builds just get better and better. You have a lot of structures now so it will good to see you start pulling the layout together with some more scenery. Your collection of boats also seems to be growing.
I'm looking to create a serires of houses like this to be represented in a wild west Zombiecide game "Alive Undead". Thanks for sharing the process and detailing the steps you've taken to achiveve such great results.
Absolute stellar workings as always Jason no matter how many builds i see you do it still makes my eyeballs ,mind and heart happy lol bloody incredible my friend Also a big congratulations your amazing kids buddy very proud time for you keep up the great work its amazing
Jason! Great work as always! You use lots of FOS scale models, and others, too! I have many Campbell kits and I would love to see what you would do with them! How about doing a building for your layout using a Campbell kit as a starting kit? Thanks! Greg
you know most modelers put too much track in a given space, you do the opposite... the effect gives the layout a more realistic look...that effect I plan to do on mine building the coal miners housing area. Weathering is best done in layers Scenery should be the same. Another great build!
Jason, yet another amazing build. Great tips, and techniques. It looks awesome. They way you blended it into the slope was great, such a simple, yet great foundation for the structure. Did you think of automating the lift with a small servo motor? That would be next level. Stay safe, and keep the great videos coming. Michael
Another fantastic build video Jason!! Congrats on your son graduating from high school. Coincidentally, our youngest son graduates high school tomorrow, and our middle son just finished his sophomore year in college too. The elevator is an interesting feature, going to have to keep that in mind for a future structure model. The brick paper looks pretty good too. As always, thanks for sharing your work and techniques with us!
Really Awesome work again Jason!! Im from New Zealand and have recently started building HO scale structures. Extremely hard to get here and very expensive, but worth every penny. Thanks for the inspiration, keep it up 🙂
Thank you for share Jason. You have a great imagination. I found 3 Bennington HO scale coaches. They are all wood and metal pieces. Date said is from 73. Did you assembly some of this? Cesar
Great video, Jason. Beautiful work on the elevator and the signs (don't forget the supports). And congratulations on the kid's schooling, you must be a proud papa. Question, have you ever tried scalpels for cutting out signs? Cheap ones from Amazon work well for me, blades cost less than razor blades. The building looks perfect in the spot made for it, great work!
Thank you so much Greg!!! Soon I will have no kids at home. Thanks for the suggestion on the scalpels. I’ve never used them. Thanks for watching! I always appreciate it!!!
The whole package is interesting and well presented. Having had to do a 5-10 minute "presentation" on every work course I have been on, I know how difficult it is to keep talking when you're concentrating on something else. Multi-tasking is not our forte! Cheers
My sci-fi layout is still set on planet earth. It’s 3 billion years in the future from the exact location of my HO scale layout. Thanks for watching Bob! I really appreciate it! 👍
Another stunning piece of work Jason. If I may ask a question, I don't suppose you would know of a UK stockists of the besttrains wood stains you use? I've just had a few 28mm wild west wargaming buildings arrived and they are bare wood!
Thank you so much Melvyn!!! Sorry I don’t know of any. You’ll probably have to buy regular wood stain from a hardware store. Good luck with the project and happy modeling!!! 👍
You are now closing in to the next phase of parenthood - the empty nest. It's great and not great at the same time. Your previous videos are excellent to return to in order to get better. I try to remember what you've said so many times to us. Take your time building.
It looks like they have all different size toys available. It’s confusing because it doesn’t have a scale listed on the package. I bought the armadillo space ship which is perfect for Star Wars figures. But you are correct, they do sell some toys that have figures over 4 inches tall. Thanks for watching Scott!!! 👍
I can't help but think of,...How do you keep the set from being layered in dust with out destroying everything, I have pondered that for years and finally have to ask?
The trick is to keep air moving in the layout room. Once a day turn on a rotating fan in the room. It’s definitely a constant battle! Thanks for watching!!! 👍
Jason you don't look old enough to have a child in college. You will miss those times of attending after school events, I sure do. Not to get too personal is your wife still in the picture?

Jason, that's a really great building. A lot of interest and very unique. Great planning and detail, even though you aren't fully finished. SUPER job.

Another fantastic build! I can't wait to see what you do with the new Sci-Fi vehicle!
It is early morning as I watch this .. first cup of coffee and .. * bam! * .. a video to get the creative juice's flowing
I’m enjoying my morning coffee also! Thanks for the support Ed! I always appreciate it! Have a great day!

Thank you so much Robert!!! Glad to have you along on the journey! It’s HO scale.
@@JasonJensenTrains after watch8ng another video I did surmise that it was HO. Still. Very detailed work. 👍
If you cant get the 3m double stick tape, look for the double stick tape use for the plastic window weatherproofing
Those Buzz lightyear figures are over 4 inches tall, quite a bit bigger than star wars figures.

It's become sore of a joke (just funny) that whenever someone ask suggestions for color, it's brought up "Well, Jason Jenson would use Buttermilk".
