12ealDeal it's good, but competition can be rough... We broke out of the mold pretty easily only due to a unique sound... the metal community is great as well, but bands here are rather good or utter shit. There is no in-between haha. These people down here dont care for the cookie-cutter run of the mill metal band. So as long as you're unique you will atleast succeed locally.
I absolutely love Orange Amps. I play a Bass Terror through an Orange 1x15. Top quality gear that can take a lot of abuse and sound great. Cheers Mr. Cooper! Cheers from Ottawa, even though I'm a useless bass player.
I play a dual terror with a custom 1×12 and I agree, best giging amp I've ever used. Serious abuse and keeps going.. Shame they're so heavy and expensive these days
It's always such a pleasure to listen to Cliff Cooper or Adrian Emsley talk about how they approach building amplifiers. Your really feel the passion they put in what they do. Also, both seem to be extremely cool guys to have around. Lots of great insights!
Glenn I hope you see this. I finally bought my first set of M audio monitors. Wow what a difference. I can finally hear all of the differences in the recording techniques you always talk about. Now I'm gonna go back through and watch all of your other videos and learn from them the way you intended for me to.
Yes, yes, yes, I am with him all the way. He is such a great guy and so humble. Im glad Orange are sticking to there guns. Company's have too evolve but they should never lose what they stand for. Great interview my jaw dropped to the floor so many times. I learnt new things and amazed about his tapes. Really great job Glenn shame the interview couldn't be longer. I could listen to him for hours.
Great interview Glenn. God this Cliff Cooper is a fount of relevant knowledge and history! Love his statement about digital amplifiers- "they sound fake, I try to like them but they just sound fake". Too true!
What a lovely man. I got turned on to Orange Amps about a year ago through Mary Spender’s channel. Got an Orange Crush 35rt. Love it! Eventually will go full tube/analog with them.
Something so cozy about watching this. Doesn't have to be brutal metal talk all the time! Amazing how such a soft-spoken guy helped create the sound of an amp that's bound to remain pretty timeless :)
Love orange they are an example for all other gear/guitar/instruments brands, they put a lot of passion on their product and they really embraced the modern day
My Dad used to know this awesome dude back in the day! Not you, Glen. He's even been to the Orange shop when it was around. Great video as always Glen! Cliff really knows his stuff and his insight and philosophy on and in to amp making are spot-on and so fantastic. ☺🤘✌
Hi Glenn, Just wanna thank you for posting awesome music content. This channel has inspired me to continue recording through all the bull shit in life. Thanks for every thing you do on your channel. Keep up the good work and hope to see your channel go further in the future .
@10:09 This is why you always have a studio cat :) My first amp back around the mid 90s was an Orange. Can't remember the model but it was an old combo of some kind. Loved hearing these stories. Thanks for the interview!
Nice guy Mr Cooper, and he is right, if it's not broken, don't fix it. Keep the good recipes and transformers. Thanks for sharing Glenn. Love this stuff.
I worked at a pro audio repair shop for about a year and the best sounding thing that came across my bench was an Orange amp! Wonderful interview. Thanks.
There were 2 that stood out. One was a Rockerverb 50 head. Although it sounded great it had a weird problem that would come and go. It turned out to be a bad relay. The one I liked best was a 1-12 combo. I don't remember the model. It might have been a little lower wattage.
This is really cool. Getting to hear the backstory to amp makers is really a treat, even if I'm not really a fan of Orange amps. I wish an interview with Jim Marshall were still possible.
This was a great foray into rock history. Good job chief. If I ever blow out an O/P transformer, I think I will replace it with an orange. he sold me on that.
Glenn how did you get to interview the owner of orange?????? Please answer in your next viewers comments video! I love orange! Loved hearing the history from the man himself! Thanx!
Props for bringing up joe meek, if you haven’t watched the movie about his life it is most definitely worth a watch, he did some crazy experiments in that studio of his that is might be fun to try out (mic in the toilet for starters) check it out!
Wow Glen I made mistake and thought Orange Amps were the top part of Marshal now I was very wrong.. Amazing that Cliff was in a band a good band with types of recordings and that helped start up the Best Amps in the world.
great interview, it taught me a lot of stuff. I own an Orange amp and cab and I am not disappointed. Glenn summarizes it perfectly at the end of the video. 1 great tone instead of 300 shitty ones
Gotta love the awkward handshake at the beginning of the vid. I actually ordered an Orange after seeing this despite their being no guitar in this video. It sort of reminded me that Orange is cool
Hey Glenn ! As being born mostly in a digital era (1995) i am interested in how do you work with tape and full analog gear, like more interested in how the workflow is when working on analog. i'm interested in this as much as i'm interested in celluloid film cinema. Greeting from a little country called Tunisia located in North Africa :D !
The beat club in Germany was always littered with orange amps =]. Some of the best footage you will find on youtube. 9:05 Im pretty sure he means the d12 not d112
I wish you would have touched briefly about the officially lisenced orange amps pack with amplitube. I'm curious if he thinks they're even close or just a way to make money off the digital amp world. Awesome interview, but Glenn this man is a legend, your phone is not...it can wait 16 minutes.
It looks just like him, but I don't think it is. If you pause on just the right frame, you can see part of his face. He looks like an older, pale British guy.
Wow - probably the best vid you ever put up Glenn !!! Honestly I was getting bored and starting to hover on the unsub button, then you do a blinder like this ! Just more like this PLEASE xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 👍
What a gentleman. Not you Glenn!!!
He sounds so humble. CHEERS from Memphis, TN Glenn!
I think the world needs more people like Cliff Cooper.
Sorry for the unrelated question, but how are Memphis and Nashville for musicians these days?
12ealDeal it's good, but competition can be rough... These people down here dont care for the cookie-cutter run of the mill metal band. So as long as you're unique you will atleast succeed locally.
Tiger blood 1978 well we are in horn lake haha! We said Memphis as a generalized area people would know 😝
I absolutely love Orange Amps. I play a Bass Terror through an Orange 1x15. Top quality gear that can take a lot of abuse and sound great. Cheers Mr. Cooper! Cheers from Ottawa, even though I'm a useless bass player.

Lots of great insights!
Great video, got a history lesson, learned something about professional audio electronics, and got 16 minutes with a great story teller.
GurktheBrutal Working in a shop where Gary Moore and Paul Kosoff come in and just jam all day=best job ever.
Great interview. Hopefully his Bowie tapes get transferred soon. The fans will go nuts. And great job keeping it professional.
I'd love Cliff to make an audiobook about his career.
What an amazing company. Cliff and Orange forever!
Such a great gentleman. This interview is inspiration. Thank you!
Glenn I hope you see this. I finally bought my first set of M audio monitors. Wow what a difference. I can finally hear all of the differences in the recording techniques you always talk about. SO cool to see you guys nerding out over audio equipment and classic musicians! Nice interview Glenn!
this guy's voice is so soft and soothing.
who knew the guy with some of the best guitar tone has the best vocal tone?
What a lovely man. I got turned on to Orange Amps about a year ago through Mary Spender’s channel. Got an Orange Crush 35rt. Love it! Eventually will go full tube/analog with them.
Something so cozy about watching this. Doesn't have to be brutal metal talk all the time! Amazing how such a soft-spoken guy helped create the sound of an amp that's bound to remain pretty timeless :)
So friggin' true! Soft spoken indeed! Telekinetic Yeti make some pretty "non-soft spoken music" with their Oranges!
great story. world class gentleman. his passion shines and keeps Orange Amps legendary
this was awesome. cool seeing talk gear w/ someone besides viewers. seemed genuinely excited
Love orange they are an example for all other gear/guitar/instruments brands, they put a lot of passion on their product and they really embraced the modern day

One of your best ..talking to the legends.. bravo!
Absolutely amazing, what a great man of Knowledge.... Cliff Cooper was pretty cool too!
Damn, great interview, Glenn. I'm a huge Orange nerd and totally dig their tone. So much stoner metal is driven by Orange dirt.
He's such a wholesome guy!
Oh Orange, please stay the lovely tube amp company you are (and yes i know they have ss-amps as well). Great interview.
Mike Van SingSing I'm in love with my CR120H
Orange builds the BEST Solid State amps ever ! - Tubes suck ! ;-D
The best part of Orange SS amps is that they are all analogue
Glen, nice of you to put your phone down long enough to interview a fucking legend. Jaesus!!
Hi Glenn, Just wanna thank you for posting awesome music content. This channel has inspired me to continue recording through all the bull shit in life. Thanks for every thing you do on your channel. Keep up the good work and hope to see your channel go further in the future .

Loved hearing these stories. Thanks for the interview!
What a great interview, thanks .
Great stories, history lessons, and knowledge from someone who's been through the wars. I would love to hear more from Mr. Cooper. 👍🏻
Real gent, hard earned knowledge, Kudos on this interview!
I'm a recount convert to Orange amps, I use a CR60 combo and it's amazing. The reverb is nuts
GREAT JOB SOME OF YOUR BEST WORK GLENN
Super Awesome Glenn, I love seeing stuff like this
Very cool interview. Many years of great history and acquired knowledge.
That was awesome, a nice peak into how Orange makes such awesome amps
What a great interview!
lovely video Glen more like this sort of thing would be appreciated
Nice guy Mr Cooper, and he is right, if it's not broken, don't fix it. Keep the good recipes and transformers. Thanks for sharing Glenn. Love this stuff.
superb. loved it. thanx Glenn.
Very interesting interview, thanks.
What a epic interview!!! Cliff Cooper is a Legend!!!
Great interview. Very cool.
Fascinating stuff!
that was awesome glenn !!!
Wow been wandering why Orange sound so distinctive, what a great guy.
Really enjoyed this interview!
I worked at a pro audio repair shop for about a year and the best sounding thing that came across my bench was an Orange amp! Wonderful interview. Thanks.

Great interview
What a charming man! Now I need an Orange! ;)
This was a great foray into rock history. Good job chief. If I ever blow out an O/P transformer, I think I will replace it with an orange. he sold me on that.
The first time I can recall seeing Orange amps was watching those old clips of Sabbath playing songs from "Paranoid" on that Beat Club show.
Great Interview. Cliff is the shisnet! Would love hear some of the stuff he has recorded for sure.
Glenn how did you get to interview the owner of orange?????? Please answer in your next viewers comments video! I love orange! Loved hearing the history from the man himself! Thanx!
Its from the TGU event at Thomann i Germany. Orange took part of that, 👍
9:09 D12, Glenn, D12. Much less "scooped" than the D112 nowadays. Totally different beast.
The hybrid amp idea you mention sounds very much like a Peavey Vypyr or the Line 6/Bogner amps.
I love this guy, analog and tubes forever! Kind of makes me want to buy an Orange...
Do eet.
Props for bringing up joe meek, if you haven’t watched the movie about his life it is most definitely worth a watch, he did some crazy experiments in that studio of his that is might be fun to try out (mic in the toilet for starters) check it out!

Awesome history!
Orange! \m/ Awesome interview!
Cool stuff! More like this please :)
Awesome stuff, Glenn! Very interesting knowledge from Cliff! Thanx!! 👍✌
Great interview!
really enjoyed this, thanks Glen
Like this show. Very informative. And yes, he is so right: nothing sounds better than a tube amp!
Dark Runes Studio idk, I love my CR120H
Gotta love the awkward handshake at the beginning of the vid. I actually ordered an Orange after seeing this despite their being no guitar in this video. It sort of reminded me that Orange is cool
That was AWESOME!
You're not holding the microphone correctly, your hand should be closer to the end in a cupped shape.
Yeah, they should BOTH be cupping that mic, This interview lacks any real clarity! xD
Yeah, 2 mics, 1 cup..
Why not put the mic on the floor instead of waving it around
That might be the best technique I've heard yet
Hey Glenn ! As being born mostly in a digital era (1995) i am interested in how do you work with tape and full analog gear, like more interested in how the workflow is when working on analog. i'm interested in this as much as i'm interested in celluloid film cinema. Orange rules. Even their solid state amps are godly.
Orange, Laney and Marshall, pure British excellence in loud.
What an awesome interview!
This is cool Glen! I luv tubes!!!
The beat club in Germany was always littered with orange amps =]. Some of the best footage you will find on youtube. 9:05 Im pretty sure he means the d12 not d112
The nicest guy
That's cool.
What are the speakers Mr. Cooper mentions at 3:57??
Great interview 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻
Glenn, more material like this. This is great. Have Lyndon Laney in next, maybe get some Sabbath stories.
Great dude. I wish I could ask him why my Orange Terror Bass 500 was discontinued. :(
Hey Glenn, have you ever tried taping a mic to the bass drum beater? Might help with capturing the attack!
If you don't break the mic
Excellent video! 🤙
ive heard the little 5w hybrid Orange amps sound good
Fucking legend! Just like Mr Neve!
A very quiet guy who makes some very loud amplifiers. Rock on!
You should record in Dublin
I have not seen the entire video yet, but i'm pretty sure it does not end with Cliff saying 'and fuck you glenn'.
Hey Glenn
Could you review the Orange Crush 120 head?
Greetings from Portugal.
he is a very soft spoken man
This was great.
Cliff comes across as a top bloke
Nice interview Glenn, something a bit different.
Still got my 100W Orange speaker cab (70's) which I used with a Williamson amp (100), with my Tele it would shake the windows ;0)
I wish you would have touched briefly about the officially lisenced orange amps pack with amplitube. I'm curious if he thinks they're even close or just a way to make money off the digital amp world. Awesome interview, but Glenn this man is a legend, your phone is not...it can wait 16 minutes.
2:06 is that kirk hammett walking by?
It looks just like him, but I don't think it is. If you pause on just the right frame, you can see part of his face. He looks like an older, pale British guy.
12ealDeal looks rather like an older german metalhead. The interview was recorded at Thomann
Yes
I'm sure that he's Stefano "Sebo" Xotta, I recognize him from the little "dv mark" bag that he carries on his shoulder
ok, in that case an italian metalhead. if Kirk Hammett would have been at Thomanns, there wouldn`t be any wah wahs left in stock ;-)
2:30 Good one Glenn! Trying to help out the little guys!
Wow - probably the best vid you ever put up Glenn !!! Honestly I was getting bored and starting to hover on the unsub button, then you do a blinder like this ! Just more like this PLEASE xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 👍
