      You got this brother. Been following your music since the old Trap Rap days. Banged it through my deployment, and your work has followed me through my own struggles and helped me to face my own demons, work through PTSD, and overcome any obstacle in my way. I know I'm not the only one but we all can't thank you so I thank you on behalf of all of us. You have a much bigger impact than you'll ever know.

Thank you for the upload. i would have never heard this song if it wasnt for you and this fit my friend so well.. Please check on your friends everyone, and make sure they are okay..

      I am so sorry for ur loss. Sounds exactly like what I’m going through. Lost my lifelong cousin/best friend beginning of November to OD. He never showed the signs he was that sad. I have so many regrets. He was an amazing person. I hope he watches over me and my 3 babies every day and he smiles waiting for us one day. RIP Luke

      True that , you never no when today might be your last, no one's promised tommorow so all we can live for is today ... Life is a fragile and delicate things in a blink of an eye out can be snatched from us all. Love and be loved make time stand still,even if your not, Cherish those around you while you have them, be greatful you still have them , one day we won't and you do t wanna regret that you never said why you needed to say or that you didnt do what you should of or could have but fell short, then we blame our selves and hold guilt and shame... Moments are all there is. As time fades away so do those we hold most dear... So the most valuable thing to give a person you Cherish and hold dear, is your time ... Thanks have a blessed day all ...

      @@raulherrera434 what are you trying to say? Sorry, your comment does not make sense to me at all!!! Are you saying Jelly Roll records a song, but doesn't listen to it? I am in a deep state of depression because I can't see this man live in concert for any of his first Canadian dates. And I'll never get a chance to either. But I still love him and his words. "I am not ok" hits home for me, and many others. Raul, I am not ok and I know I can't be the only one who's holding on for dear life. But God knows, I know when it's all said and done. I'm not okay, but it's all gonna be alright. It's not okay, but we're all gonna be alright. You're lucky if those words don't touch your life or someone you love. But his words touch our lives. To the point some of us are so disappointed we can't see him live, that we listen to this song, so everything will be alright!!!

I only have one person in my life that I can talk to and that is my brother who is only 4 years younger then me and who I’ve told and helped out when I was growing up so he didn’t end up like me. But he got some bad news and now his in the same boat as me which fucking hurt my soul and did nothing but cry for days and honestly him telling me what he did kinda took me outta my mind and was just really thinking about him and worrying about him. Because he was going to attempt to off himself. Which I’ve tried and failed. I’m 29 myself and don’t have my shit together and also addicted to coke but I have been clean for a month and a half and my brother really is the better one and it hurt me to my soul/core. I guess maybe what I’m trying to say or get across is that I’m doing better but hurting more then ever

    This made me start crocodile crying. My life had been so fucking rough man. Im was only 18 and felt like my life was already over. I lost everything at a young age. Divorce. both parents gone at 15. dropped out 16 to care for grandparents. They went nursing home and i was 18 with nowhere to go. I was then homeless. And couch hopping. Being betrayed left and right. Falling throughout the hoops that the enemies in my life have set for me. I thought i would slow anyone down if i was around them. I stayed a loner because i feel like i was a burden. I forgot my problems by constantly smoking and drinking and it got so bad at one point. Im still kinda stuck in like but my girlfriend of 9 months has pretty much saved me from a certain outcome. I could never thank her enough for what shes done for me. Truly saved a life and she doesnt even know it.

And I listen to the song to help me out everyday. As men it seems we can't express ourselves like this In life or your put down and your manhood tested by other "men". I almost break down everytime I hear this shit. We gotta do better as brother to keep helping each and putting people up instead of down. The world is shitty

    2024 and this is my jam. I sing it loud everytime. I had my life ripped away from me in a car accident when a 19 year old slammed into me while searching for her ice coffee. I became permanently disabled had to stop law school. I honestly feel like I'm a lost cause because im not the same wife and mom since that accident 10 years ago. I have demons. I feel like this song speaks to my soul.

    I LOVE TO HEAR HIM SING. HIS SONGS HAVE A LOT OF MEANING TO ME. THE ONE HE HAS NOW IS "I'M NOT OKAY". I AM NOT OKAY BUT I AM TRYING. TOO MANY THINGS IN MY PAST HAVE TAKEN ME DOWN. FOR THE FIRST TIME I ONLY HAVE ME TO TAKE CARE OF. I'M 63 AND RETIRED. I LIVE ON VERY LITTLE BUT I AM SURVIVING. I WANT TO BE LIKE JELLY IN THE FACT HE WANTS TO LOSE WEIGHT AND STRAIGHTEN UP HIS LIFE. HE WILL SUCCEED. I HAVE SO MUCH FAITH IN HIM.

    I hear this, and the way you can hear him just emotionally drowning, on the mic, with a title like that and inside I just hear "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13 Because I've been where Jelly's at, I've felt like I had that lead weight tied to my foot, sinking me to the bottle of the lake and no way to get up, and that verse and God were the ONLY things (along with support from my music) that helped. This song is so amazing and raw. I loved the reaction, friend. Wonderful job.

    "You said it Stevie" ... I gotta tell ya , so very true why you said during this. When I first herd this Song I was there in that moment where it brought me to literal tears in front of people I didn't know well and it was cuz it spoke to my Inner most deepest parts of my spirit. I said who is this and they said it's Jelly Roll , that was a wrap for me. Now I listen to it almost eveyday. I can't start or complete my day without it. But he sings the truth, his truth, as well as everyone whom it touche's , their truth too .... You are truly an artist and tell a story every time you open your mouth to inspire us all with hope , cuz your music brings strength carried over by voice. Cuz it brings a type of relief to know that were not unique , that were not alone in the battles that wag war against our worst parts of our selves, our Demons .... It's like he says anythings that sets me free .... Some how the music sets my free every time I listen ... You no what I mean if anyone's ever been there ? When you face your Demons you get released ...The True Set Free ... Thanks Guys Beautiful a as always ... Take care ...

    I'm almost at a loss for words😮. I know there's been millions of songs written about depression/substance abuse, but sometimes there a song in particular that feels like someone was able to read your mind & it just hits hard. Since the age of apx.12, I've abused/overindulged in nicotine, alcohol, a variety of drugs, & food. I'm 44 now & have been free of all of that (w/the exception of a drink w/dinner once in a great while) since I was apx. 35-37. He says "I'm so damaged beyond repair" & I felt like that for so long. But omg, songs like this break my heart💔...I know it sounds cheesy but my heart literally aches for this man. I am not fixed or "all better" by any means...I don't do the physical stuff anymore but I struggle w/my internal dialogue daily. In a way I've lowered the expectations of myself. Like accepting that I'll never feel completely healed...no one will. All I can do is manage the persistent thoughts day to day.
    All my love to ❤Jelly Roll 💜

  • @DeathPenalty84
    @DeathPenalty84 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What a beautifully honest song. I feel the same way as he does, but i am so fortunate to finally have let people support me, and i'm 2 years booze sober, currently weaning off the pills, one week into exercise and about 3 days of begging to feel *Awake*. after 20 years of using drugs and alcohol as a band-aid to cover up my mental trauma, i've been peeling that band-aid off slowly, and dealing with the injury underneath in a healthier way. To EVERYONE who feels like this, like life is hopeless, like suicide would be less painful than existing, that you NEED substances to get you through: You CAN do it. Do you feel like you don't know where to start, there's too much crap and it's overwhelming? I have some advice in the form of an example - When a Bricklayer starts to build a house, he isn't thinking about finishing it or what it will look like, or even what the wall he is starting on will look like, or how much he has left to do. That would drive him crazy. The thing that he thinks about is laying the first brick. Then, once he has layed that brick exactly like he wanted to, he then shifts his thoughts onto the next brick. He does that, over and over, in a monotonous cycle until he has finished an entire row (course). Then he thinks about moving up to the next row, and laying that first brick.
    Think of that first row as 1 of the many many many problems that you have and that you need to address. Just 1 of the problems. Then dedicate your (almost) entire attention to that row/problem. Let's say it's quitting smoking. Now the only thing that you need to think about is laying that first brick. Don't think about finishing the row, think about that first brick. What is that first brick. Is it setting a few allocated times during the day when you allow yourself to smoke? Is it to stop smoking at work, or at home? Is it to cut down your intake by half? Well, once you've layed that brick to a standard that you deem acceptable (maybe you've reduced to half for 2 weeks and are ready to cut down more), lay the next brick. Halve it again. Only move onto the next brick once you are satisfied that you have successfully layed the previous one. Stand back after each layed brick and look at it with PRIDE. Be proud of yourself for laying that brick so well. Is the brick a bit wonky? maybe you feel like you could've layed it better? Well guess what? You get to lay another brick, and this one will be better. Now if you do this, focussing on one brick at a time, before you know it you will have reached the end of the wall on that row with no more bricks to lay. You've done it. Congratulate yourself. Be proud of yourself. Some of the bricks may ne a little uneven, but that's ok, because you finished the row. Well done :) Give yourself a little break before starting the next row/problem. And when you decide to start the next row, keep reminding yourself that you've already layed a row, and you made it the whole way. Eventually that house will be built.
