I think it’s just this particular presenter. No offense to her or anything, but Jemma always mispronounces character names no matter the video, and has gotten some facts about the movies in the lists wrong (though that might be on the writer, who’s usually not the narrator, since the narrator literally just recites a premade list you can find on their website). Every narrator has had a few videos like this, but they usually fix it after a few. Jemma has had this issue in almost every video and it’s still not fixed. Also every time she said “beelyul” instead of “be-lie-ul” a lurks part of my soul died 😂
I'm not sure why you need an attractive person to read off lists if they can't pronounce things. I mean the pronunciation thing doesn't personally bother me too much, but their entire job for these videos is reading and it clearly bothers others going by comments.
Bug(1975): Giant cockroaches with the ability to set things on fire emerge from a crack in the ground after an earthquake, and proceed to wreak havoc. That's the first hour, then it takes an abrupt turn, and the rest of the movie is about a scientist conducting experiments on them, eventually discovering they're supremely intelligent, and plotting against him. That last forty minutes is a straight-up fever dream.
@@starscreamthecruel8026yeah you're not the only one! I definitely remember two scenes vividly in my head, the first is the professor's wife where one of the bugs gets in her hair and catches her head on fire where is she is then burned alive, and at the end of the movie where the Professor, who has been experimenting and crossbreeding said bugs in his cabin, sees the bugs on his wall and they spell out his name "Parmiter" and then the words....."WE LIVE!"
Let it never be said that Nicholas Cage doesn’t give his all to the characters he plays. He always puts his whole heart and soul into his work. You can always tell whether the narrator has seen film they are commenting on when they completely mispronounce the name. Anyone who has ever seen Basket Case would never pronounce the kid in the basket as "bee-lee-al". It is so obvious that they really don't know much about the words on the screen they are reading from......unlike Josh Brown.
Once more, I would like to ask... HOW HOW HOW do you not add the Suspiria remake to these lists??? Also... "Basket Case"? Ah you mean James Won's "Malignant"! "Malignant?" Ah, surely you are talking about the cult classic "Basket Case"!

@@bell6dandy564 i get you. I wasn't trying to be a smartass either. The more videos have comments, the more they show up in search results or get suggested to people to watch. And their views go up, and the money rolls in. It's not stupid, if you think about it. Honestly a lot of these are Horror-Comedy’s and if you go into it with that knowledge it makes the crazy movies better
I love Horror Comedies!!
Absolutely love Killer Klowns From Outer Space. It takes the wacky premise and runs full throttle with it
Planet Terror is such a good movie. It tries to be like an old 80s movie but ends up being one of a kind.
One of my favorites
Planet Terror is a great movie, period.
Try 60s.
Ran into it years ago while looking for something to watch. I did not know what I was watching and loved every second of it.
When Slither is described to me the first thing I think of is a messed up sequel to Night of the Creeps.
Killer Klowns from outer space was one of my favorites as a kid I loved watching this with my grandpa lol 😂
I watched it with my brother. One of the few movies we watched together.
Slither Is Soooo Underrated...
Ol' Girl Asking For A Piece Of Possum Is MOVIE GOLD

Basket Case is great. The sequels aren't so great, but think they're well worth a watch. But you pronounced Belial's name wrong!!.

Thank You for the List and Video 😀
Seen all but the last two...this was my kind of list of movies that I love, from the eighties on
If I had a penny for every tike Whatculture said the term 'cult classic' in reference to film, I'd have £24.79p, I reckon
You'd end up richer if you had a penny for every time the WhatCulture presenter pronounces a character's name wrong.
Rodriguez and Tarantino on Grindhouse come on !!
I loved Malignant
Unbelievable movie. Totally caught me off guard
I saw Street Trash on vhs as a kid back in the 80s. There's some things I cannot forget seeing that I would very much like to.

I would add Turbo Kid too
Bad Taste
Awesome list 👏
Can't even pronounce Belial's name right. Like, tell me you've never watched Basket Case without telling me you've never watched Basket Case.🤦🏻♀️
The whole charm about WhatCulture videos is listening to people who know nothing about the subjects they're talking about.
"Planet Terror" & "Slither" are awesome movies. "Basket Case" never seen but seen bits and pieces. Never heard of the rest of this list.
I see Nick Cage has two movies on this list. I also thought Prisoners of the Ghostland would have been a good one for this countdown.
Mandy is another great example. Hell, they could do an entire list solely comprised of Nick Cage movies.
th-cam.com/video/9T2RttprxDE/w-d-xo.html They are on the original list
Top shelf 👌
Braindead (1992; dir. Peter Jackson) a.k.a. Dead Alive

As a fan of splatstick, I approve this message.
the killer clowns theme by the dickies is so ridiculously good though
It's BEL-I-AL....not frickin Beeeliol.....for fucks sake WATCH the movie!
I had to rewind it to make sure I wasn't having a stroke. Bilal!!
I love how not only does Nicholas Cage beat all the animatronics, he completely fucks them up without barely even taking any damage himself.
God, bring back Ash already.
BEEleUL!
Ever wonder what happened to Ash & Tilly?
Ash has moved on from Whatculture onto another channel.
Ash is in Playstation Access channel for quite a while now. Not sure about Tilly.
Yeah, ash left in 2020, I think.
They still had a backlog of videos she had pre-recorded that they sprinkled in for a little bit after that tho.
I miss Ash! Hope her new gig is good for her!

How is she pronounceing bliel from basket case 🤔 😂😂😂
Only killer klowns, Willys Wonderland and Slither are any good on this list.
Anyone know who or what made Bylial's screem in Baskett Case?
can you say Belial?
Color Out Of Space isn't that good. The story is just a slow burning mess, and the ending is really bad.
Bill-ill? It’s Bilial.
Bee-Lie-uhl accent on the lie.
