Unlike just about any other superstar in the medium, when Todd goes on a promotional tour he does interviews with literally anyone from a channel with 500 subscribers to a couple of thousand or a million. It's impressive for someone who has so much on his plate, but he doesn't seem to take a single opportunity or even a single fan for granted.
I'm one of the smaller channels he was on recently and I agree, he doesn't take a single thing for granted and we're lucky he's still doing what he loves!

I've seen dozens of interviews with Todd and he's usually in full salesman mode - this one was different. You really get a sense of his passions and collector mentality.
So cool. I showed my 5 year old son this. He said he will start his own comic book at 16 and beat you. Better add an extra 10 years Todd. Congrats on your success. Let everyone here massive fan on what you do.
You can tell he is a comic book nerd, just like us. Amazing videos and i CAN NOT wait to see more from Spawn on the big screen. Thanks for making this!!
I must admit I'm a big Todd McFarland guy, but after watching this he reminds me of Stan Lee some. Seems like a humble dude. I really like that he is still with his wife. What a cool dude.
Humble… did you watch the entire thing??? He cried thinking he was special for getting Stan Lee to sign a Spawn a comic and then pretended like Stan Lee would not sign one (when he 1000% knows that Stan did because you can find CGC dates showing him signing issues of Spawn after Todd…. And the best part? He definitely doesn’t have anything close to the most valuable Stan Lee signed Spawn issue because almost all of the ones fans have listed for sale have both of their signatures and obviously Todd couldn’t be happy getting Stan to autograph Spawn #1 by himself 😂
Outstanding! You just let Todd go and the energy and joy he has for art and collectibles is so contagious, it's like you're still talking to that 16 year old boy! I love his art and he pretty much changed the way toys were made, the quality and detail he puts into everything he does is off the wall. I still remember seeing those first toys at a show and without hesitation me and my friend were buying enough cases to go direct. I still remember filling my house with cases and cases of every line he made! The feeling of opening them when they arrived was just amazing, and they sold fast! The memories of first seeing his art in ASM 298 is still vivid in my mind, that run is still today one of my favorite runs in comics. And what you see in this interview is the real Todd, if you are lucky enough to spend any time around him he is just as down to earth as you can get. This man is a national treasure, he stands tall right up there with likes of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Siegel & Shuster, Bill Finger, Jim Shooter, etc.. And he is not done...
What sold me as a kid on Mcfarlane's art was his goddamn environments. Getting characters down is one thing, environments is another. Making the character 'feel' like they're in said environment, whatever it may be, he always made it work, and McFarlane originated Spawn; Capullo 'made' Spawn-A 90's kid perspective.
I´ve only have seen this enthusiasm and passion om their collectibles with Adam Svage from Mythbusters. Theres´s just something so compelling about the way and uniqueness of their stories, the type of industries they have worked on and the people the have met
I'm a huge comic book & Todd McFarlane fan, but what really stood out to me on here was the story of Barry Bonds' 73rd home run ball. That's the famous ball from the "Up For Grabs" documentary where the two guys fought it out in court over who was the legal owner of the ball, as one of them claimed to have caught it before the other knocked it (allegedly) out of the first guy's glove in an ensuing scuffle. I remember the whole debacle didn't sit well with sports fans/collectors back then who felt it was a bit of a black eye on their community. The judge eventually ruled that the two guys were BOTH the owners & would have to split the profit of the ball at auction, which was estimated at around 1.5 million! Well, things obviously didn't work out the way they had hoped lol, & I think one or both also ended up losing money due to court fees & such. Anywho, I always figured the ball went for way less amongst Todd & the other buyers because of the controversy, but Todd's reason for the selling price definitely makes sense as well...awesome stuff! ✌️
That Orioles jersey is my favorite piece ..though I'm a massive Toddfather and KISS fan ...I know Steve Geppi. Got me into comics when I moved to Baltimore and he still had retail stores,GEPPIS COMIC WORLD. I frequented the inner harbor store in Harborplace. He literally sold me the first books I ever owned and was always EXTREMELY kind to me, an 11 year old kid that had just moved to the city from the corn fields of Illinois, anytime he was in the shop. Awesome memories.
Fantastic interview, love Todd's DPS of Gunslinger (by Brett Booth and Adelso Corona) _but_ sorry to burst Todd's bubble: I own the first DPS of Gunslinger Spawn (also by Brett and Adelso) of Gunslinger on a motorcycle from the Gunslinger short story at the end of King Spawn 1. I'm also the guy who Brett and Adelso were going to sell the complete Gunslinger #1 to, but I ran out of money after buying all their first Gunslinger pages from SpawnU #1 and King Spawn #1... and I prefer those prequel pages to the Gunslinger #1 pages anyway. ;)
Wonderful video...congratulations to the channel. Todd McFarlane is a learning experience in everything he says. Seeing the collections and stories was really cool. Brazil loves master Todd McFarlane.
man, that was amazing. I would have been fanboying so hard if i was there lol I cant imagine being in the presence of all of that original McFarlane art!
Todd, I think we all agree Peter and Mary should still be in a loving relationship. For me when they split them up is when I stopped collecting Spider-Man.
My first comic convention I attended I met Stan Lee and had him sign a Todd McFarlane Spider-Man cover. I have been waiting for years for McFarlane to come to the same convention so I could meet him and get his auto on the same cover. I don't really travel to conventions, so I'm beginning to doubt he will ever come so I will probably not get that dual auto. I have a decent amount of key comics, but for me that would be my grail. It was really cool to see him show the dual auto comics he owns.
I intended to skim through this long video, but wow… incredible! The origin story of Violator’s name reminds me of something I see at work every week. The safety checklist for our older bandsaw says “BANDSAW JOHNSON” at the top. Sounds like a professional wrestler name.
Todd is so awesome and an inspiration. I love his work and love how he shares his experience and insight in the industry. Love how he’s a collector himself. I remember the Spawn movie that came out, I thought it was awesome seeing the character come to life. Nothing came close to that movie during that period. I can’t wait for the new movie. Anxiously waiting since I heard that it’s being made. Wish I could have (and afford) to get Todd’s signature on one of my Spawn comics (just picked up issue #350 today. It’s awesome!!!!). Thank you Todd for everything you have done and made and congratulations on your accomplishments!!!
We might disagree but IMO Todd is taking over as the face of the comics industry in Stan Lee's absence. Even if he's not involved to the same degree that he was in his heyday as a full time artist his passion for the art form and respect for the industry is still there.
I don't even like baseball but was fascinated with everything Todd went full on fanboy over. Now who else feels compelled to buy some Spawn figures lol
All this beautiful art & great collection from one of the best in the industry & all I kept thinking about was the fact his wall clock was broken! 😂 Enternally on 6:42!! ⏰ AM or PM?? You choose..😎
I can’t believe I was 8 years old when he created spawn I remember watching the movie and I was instantly hooked I drove my parents crazy getting so many spawn comics man What I wouldn’t give for them to sell official spawn shirts or hoodies Fyi Todd,Maris doesn’t have the record anymore it’s Aaron Judge now
I wish todd came back to México he sing my spawn 1 that some one stole from me in that time came with Stan lee he is my hero he had the balls to start his own company and he collects like us but we dont have the money he has but this a COOL interview
I’ve been collecting McFarlane collectibles since they first came out. I am now a figure maker. I would love a job over there I would help change things
Disney Land for an adult comic fan. I would have needed a bib and a towel for my mouth, and would be wearing jeans with a sweater that I could tie around my waste turned around. Almost didn't blink for an hour. Could spend a month there.

Todd literally built a whole empire off of one character and that's incredible.
He’s literally got NOTHIN’ on your MOM!!!! BOOM!!! BANG!!! POW!!! ZAPPO!!! Peace and love.
Two characters, kind of. His incredible run on Spiderman made him famous, which led to Image and Spawn.
His Venom was pretty popular too

Uh, also the idea of WHAT Image Comics IS. Todd is sooooooooooo much more than Spawn.

Don't know why comic book clickbate couldn't just put the damn time stamp in the article.
Hahahhaa I love you for this
Thanks and I can see why they didn't use it 😅

Good thing they didn't use it. That design sucks

Genuinely find his geeking over Stan Lee signatures to be heart warming.
Look at the passion when he talks about his own collections.
Do what you love people, thats how you become successful.

Man, this was so fun to watch. Todd, be sure to have Chris -- and maybe even Dave from West Coast Davengers -- over again. It's great television.
See Todd buy Todd lol
What a fantastic walk through Todd's collection and original art, truly a fantastic video!
I love Todd so so much. He’s like the fun uncle I never had
Better than the one I actually had.
seeing the original cover for spawn 1 has the heaviest aura

I love that he kept , and displays, his old sign. The band "X" got their X sign prop, when the old Exlax building was being torn down, in LA.
Todd is such an awesome dude
If Todd ever needs an extra tooth for his Clown, I have one hangin'.

Great video! I'm surprised this was an hour long, and sad it was over so soon, lol.

I love watching Todd interviews, this one was AMAZING.
I didn't know Todd was a Canadian. No wonder he is so successful in comics. Remember a Canadian created Superman.
Greatest Todd interview I've ever seen. Truly epic.
Todd, I think we all agree Peter and Mary should still be in a loving relationship. For me when they split them up is when I stopped collecting Spider-Man.
I agree...Peter Parker and Mary Jane should be married forever in 616.
The best of the best I’ve seen of Todd showing us all that he is. Pretty awesome video!
You can see his exitement on showing of his pieces, total nerd, im also like that when friends come over to my house and see my collection 😅
Oh man all that original artwork from those issues and such? Awesome stuff
I wish I could see that page from Spidey 300. Good golly thats one of the most iconic pages.

How fitting that the Bonds 73 ball is number 42. That was Jackie Robinson's number and is retired in all of the MLB.
