I’m only 3 minutes in but I think a lot of people don’t understand that the hair typing system strictly refers to how your hair curls ( I.e. spiral(3b) S curl(3a), tight coil( 4a/b), waves( type 2) , z pattern( 4c) ). That’s it. So yes a Type 4 can have fine hair because fine/medium/coarse is the diameter of your strand. Density is how much hair you actually have per circumference on your head ( thick hair/thin hair). And then finally your porosity levels which that’s can vary depending on the condition of your hair. ( relaxed, bleach, color treated, texlaxed, heat styling) can cause hair to be highly porous. Virgin hair and low manipulated hair tends to fall under low or normal porosity levels. That information is actually far more important than knowing your hair type. Hair type only helps when it comes to knowing how to style your hair but all the other stuff will determine the types of products you use to style and THAT’S extremely important and will make or break the outcome of the results you’re desiring.

I recently cut my locs after 16 years and just imagine my horror with all of these new hair products. Im like wtf! thankfully, you just answered my questions in one post. now i know i have 4a in the front and 3b everywhere else lmao...thank you!
Some people don’t realize (in general) that coarse hair refers to the thickness of your strand. My boyfriend hair is coarse and I wish my hair was because my strands are so fragile and snap easily 😩
My hair is also fine and my strands are super fragile! I get heat damage very easily; but since my hair is type 4 with a variety of “patterns”, I feel like an anomaly. I also have a lot of hair and even had a stylist laugh at me when I said my hair is fine. I had to explain that I was talking about the actual strand. Let’s just say it’s hard to find products that work. I’m looking forward to trying this one.

I have 3c combo hair and omg this is the bomb. It makes your hair so soft and the gel doesn't even feel like a gel. Amazing that when you find a hair combo that works its like you win the lotto.

I have fine strands but my density is high tending towards medium around the perimeter. And having high porosity makes it frizzy and poofy. I do better with heavier gels and creams. Also, the products may be formulated to give volume.
When Ulta had the sale on TGIN products, I saw the Rose Water line and was confused! I even checked IG too to see if I missed anything 🤣 I love TGIN so thanks for the review!

Love this products review and your hair looks lovely! I recently started using rosewater as a facial toner and on my hair & scalp...love it! I too wish TGIN would lose the silicones, my hair is too thin for that extra layer. I have several products from their other collections and will try them soon. Don't need to buy another product right now so I will hold off...for now.😉

U can also have 3b hair and have S curl. My 3b hair does not spiral but my 3c hair does
naeeders you seem to know a lot about hair. Do you know how I can change my hair porosity from high porosity to low/normal porosity
I think a pattern is more 4b than 4c but it does have tight coils in my honest opinion as a fellow type 4 hair gal 😜 love the post!

My hair is really fine , most deep conditioners don't penetrate my hair , and i get no moisture no matter heat, steam. Hopefully this will work for me
