Great track, from the incredible Album, ’Close To The Edge’. Also featuring the amazing, ‘And You And I’ and of course the epic masterpiece, ‘Close To The Edge’. 🎶❤️🎶
start with the Yes album, Perpetual change, Yours is no disgrace, Starship Trooper, and Your move/Seen all good people. If you start there you can go album to album and see the growth. Been following them since 71 and seen over 100 times , never get tired of them
An exhilarating, almost overpowering tour de force from a band at their creative peak. Rick ramping up the mellotron during the closing stream-of-consciousness lyrics and instantly turning dappled sunlight into brooding storm clouds. Chris relentlessly delivering bass lines that could plough fields. Bill keeping the energy and excitement flowing as if the lives of every man, woman and child in the world depended on it. Jon mastering as never before the power of words to move us by the sheer beauty of the images their sounds create in our minds. Steve thinking what this song needs is a catchy guitar riff. As close to perfection as any progressive rock band ever came.
Just found you, I like the fact that you're exploring all this great prog stuff!!! I wanna recommend one of my favorite Yes tunes, but it's a bit controversial amongst the prog snob types, but cheesy or not, I love "Circus of Heaven"
Me too. I’m such a fanboy/ old geek lol Arriving UFO too. I think Time Is Time from Magnification is as good an album closer as this is, especially considering the 20 or so minutes that comes before. Do you get the idea I can go on and on? lol My poor sons…
"I bloody love Yes, and what they do." There it is. 😊 Welcome to a great wonderment of sounds, words and composition. So happy you enjoy! 'Please gents, bring me along!'
You truly deserve the extreme pleasure of listening to another YES Masterpiece: *Yours Is No Disgrace* next. And puhleeze listen to the studio version first. Throughout, the studio version delights your ears with many of the studio effects they were fond of then, that you don't get to hear if you listen to the live versions that are out there...
Aw, that’s it. lol Once Siberian Khatru starts growing again on you, and many, many other Yessongs, it’s a hallmark of their music, IT NEVER STOPS! Best band ever. ❤
Ladies and gentlemen Chris Squire and YES the greatest show on earth. Sadly I only saw Chris and Alan 36 times ✨️🎶🙏🎶✨️ Thank you ! You warm his silver tops spirit
YES were GREAT , but with 'most' people - they are pretty well forgotten these days . Saw YES in '73 with their 'Close To The Edge' tour . Best concert I ever saw .
I too saw that same 1973 CTTE tour at Winterland in San Francisco. Followed by TFTO in 1974, also at Winterland, both whilst indulging some serious hallucinogens. I can well remember the feeling of how connected I felt to the band and the collective conciseness of the audience experiencing each moment of the music together. I trust your experience was similar. With Peace and Love to you and All! (Michael)
The current lineup is out touring right now. Not everyone has forgotten them. I personally have a huge Yes and related collection and they been my band since the early seventies.
I suggest smokin a J if you do that, that's how it's done! The lyrics on this one are purely abstract, just chosen for their sound and mood to get your imagination going. Some of their lyrics are like that to one degree or another, others have more specific meaning.
Best...band...ever. From the best album...ever. They only have 23 studio albums. So the rabbit hole can go deep. 😁😁 Thanks!!!! for the reaction to YES.
What a great reaction bro. the lyrics are poetic like Shakespeare....you can read and decipher them later into a meaning for yourself....but let the instruments and melodies of this song take over your heart and soul which will relax your mind. Great reaction!
LMAO you are HILARIOUS! In this, as in all things, I recommend pot over alcohol. That song became a dangerous ear-worm for me, when I first had the album- this particular song. That little motif that Steve Howe plays, made it nearly impossible to concentrate in math class. The duet between Chris Squire and Rick Wakeman (on a harpsichored, no less!).... Enjoy the Yes Effect. And wait till you actually know this song; it gets better and better. also: look up Jon Anderson. He's just released a new album, and a wonderful song called "Shine On". He's not finished with us, yet.

FYI, YES & Led Zeppelin were London bands that formed in the same year, 1968. Led Zeppelin had a smash hit first album, one of their best, right out of the gate. YES took a couple more years to develop into their astonishing Uber Classic Period, beginning with their 3rd album, The Yes Album 1971. Genesis actually formed in 1967, but their really impressive work, in my opinion, didn't surface until their 4th album, Foxtrot in 1972 Having graduated from high school in 1972, I was a huge fan of all of these amazing bands...

Another Masterpiece of Yes from the "Close To Edge album." and now you have completed the entire album of Yes!!! Which is Yes' Masterpiece album.....and the best Masterpiece album in Music History!!! Good for you!!! LMAO!!! You are funny!!! I am taking a shot with you as I watch you enjoy yourself listening to this masterpiece!!!
Another fine reaction! If you haven’t seen Pink Floyd perform Echoes live in Pompeii (1972), you owe it to yourself to check it out. My all time personal favorite. You might need something a little more mind expanding than bourbon. Edibles anyone?✌️❤️🔥
If you haven't heard it yet listen to AWAKEN. It will take you on a spiritual, mind melting journey. Yes, they played this stuff live and I've heard it. Wait until you get to the GATES OF DELIRIUM, it will take you to another reality.
I've just started getting into your channel. You're covering some really good music here. Another band you should have a go at are BLUE OYSTER CULT. Some songs to start with are Cagey Cretins, Cities On Flame with Rock and Roll, Harvester of Eyes, Dominance and Submission. Keep up the great music. I love Zeppelin, Rush, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floy, The Who and Black Sabbath. BOC are just as good, from the 70s as well, but more underrated for some reason. Their biggest hits are (Don't Fear) The Reaper and Godzilla but they have a great catalogue of music.
@@krisdoggett483 ahhhh BOC, more than happy to cover them too. I've heard don't fear the reaper and I'm burning for you as they pop up on some shows I like but the rest are unknown to me. I look forward to it, thanks for the recommendations
If you want the most 'accessable' Yes, everything on 'The Yes Album' is a gem, bro! After close To The Edge, they got much more proggressive and challenging. If you travel there, you may want to stick with songs from The Yes Album,Fragile and Close To The Edge. Much later on (80's), they got closer to a accessable, radio friendly sound with the albums 90125, Big Generator and Talk. And one more later on called 'The Ladder'. Other than these...you'd be heavily challenged. Tread carefully.... ;-) T
