It’s hard not to think that way honestly. It’s just so drab and bleak

If only people supported the Dreamcast instead of the PS2 back in the day, gaming today could look a lot better

I wonder if the PS5 Pro has a fidelity mode? A 1440p @ 120fps option. I'm going to save my money for the Switch2, Switch-U or whatever they call it

I don’t think it will, they didn’t mention anything about that today.

I just don’t see the point of this expensive, marginally better upgrade.
The showcase did an absolutely horrible job showing the value of the new hardware: “Here’s a side-by-side comparison! What’s that? Can’t see a difference? Squint your eyes and give me $700!”
There is also an even bigger problem that never got addressed: what exclusive games, worth playing, fully take advantage of this new hardware?
They could have showcased some new or upcoming game and illustrated the graphic differences. Instead, they just showed a bunch of old games nobody is playing anymore… and I couldn’t even see the difference!
At this price point, just get a gaming PC. It’ll be cheaper in the long run (no recurring fees, cheaper components to switch out for upgrades, etc.).
There is something very wrong with this industry these past few years. How can this many awful business moves keep being made from these companies’ leaders? This is far beyond mere incompetence at this point.
    - Ubisoft is about to collapse after its abysmal Star Wars sales and insulting Assassin’s Creed offering failing to net expected pre-order numbers.
    - Sony is selling products for non-existent markets.
    - Microsoft basically told its Xbox customers to just subscribe to Game Pass on any platform (including their competitors’).
    - Blizzard killed Overwatch for its poorly executed sequel, nobody’s playing Diablo IV anymore, and WoW is just a furry Second Life clone now.
I miss the 90s-00s era of gaming. It feels like it’s been a slow decline since around 2012/13 and has finally gotten to the point where “retro gaming” is preferred over anything released in the past 5-6 years.
This may just be Microsoft and Sony’s final console generation. Nintendo seems to be the ONLY console manufacturer that understands how software sells hardware.

I get why they do it, but it's just not consumer friendly. We don't need a stop-gap between generations, the improvements between the previous and 'pro' version is so minimal it's just not worth the extra expense for most consumers. Game companies need to work on R&D, marketing, etc. for the next generation of console instead and stop with this biz tactic.

Just get a PC for like a few hundred more and it lasts longer. PS5 pro is already out dated at that point.

Exactly, and you can do so much more with a pc, like surfing the web, logging onto neopets, burning cds, checking out foxkids for the latest rad shows and more 🤙🏽 wait, I think I’m a few years behind…lol
