Nothing personal, but the wisdom I’ve gained from listening to opinions on news channels like CNN, BBC, DW, NYT, and WaPo is that most forecasts and predictions rarely pan out, often missing the mark by a significant margin. The conventional wisdom, therefore, is to treat the news as raw input, apply critical thinking, and rely on your own heuristics-those mental shortcuts and instincts-to navigate the bigger picture. Take, for example, the discussions about removing Russia from SWIFT to cripple its banking system-just look at how that played out.

@ These News channel pundits touted Russia’s removal from SWIFT as a silver bullet that would cripple its economy, but the predicted collapse never came. While sanctions have hurt sectors like technology, consumer goods, and imports, Russia has relied on its resource wealth, redirected trade with non-Western countries, and domestic adjustments to stabilize its economy. The short-term resilience is clear, but long-term challenges, especially from restricted access to Western technology and investment, still loom.

' Supposed he imported it from Canada for 60 cents each, and the US plans to impose a 100% tariff next week on that item, then he will have to pay Uncle Sam 60 cents as well, So it would cost him 120 cents for each. If Trump is going to help Russia against Europe, then Europe should seek closer ties with China and help their economy survive any trade war with the US. If he decides to help Ukraine, then Europe should help put the squeeze on China, a trade war with both US and EU would be very tough for them to deal with.

First of all China's economy is growing 2x faster than the US.
Secondly you guys are a bunch of hypocrites.
You all talk about the sanctity of territorial integrity when it comes to Ukraine and Crimea.
You claim Ukraine has all the right to use force to reasert its sovereignty of Crimea,
Yet you refuse to accept the territorial sovereignty of China and their right to reasert their sovereignty over their province of Taiwan.
You claim the Chinese are being aggressive in Taiwan but then you say nothing about the US and South Korea's constant military exercises to invade and reunite North Korea to South Korea by force..
You also forgot that China's policy towards Taiwan is exactly the same policy West Germany had towards East Germany.
As a matter of fact China was a staunch supporter of German reunification.
Yet you want China and the Chinese people to remain divided indefinitely in perpetuity.
