- One Hour Enamel by Wise Owl offers superior coverage and a 'tough as nails' finish, or at least so the product says. Find out what we thought, our first time using it!
After filming note: It was about 6 hours before I could get back to this project. I had to take an orbital sander, with 180 grit paper (tried 220, it wasn't doing anything) to distress this piece. After only a few hours, the finish was incredibly durable.

What do you think about using this for a wooden front door?
I think it would be great because the built in top coat would make it easy to clean. Just be sure to paint when the door isn’t hot.
Why are you slopping the paint on and painting in all directions instead of smooth strokes in one direction and using a dryer for paint that dries on 1 hour?
I like paint going in multiple directions because I prefer creating texture. I’m not interested in a perfectly smooth finish. If I wanted that, I would spray. We use the heat gun because I’m we try to keep our live videos to an hour, and we. Red to do 2 coats, distress. Etc. this is not an edited video. It’s real time.
I bought this paint to use on a small shelf. I needed at least 4 coats to cover the cream color afterwards. I hate this paint. And I paid 25 dollars for the pint.
brushes that are use with enamel paint need to be wash with mineral oil or paint thiner i thought 🤔 🚫 🧼 😬
This is a water based paint.
I used fusion with horrible results so if this is like fusion I'm skeptical! In fact the store I got the paint from reimbursed me because of the failure. Infact the business is no longer in existence.
Gosh that sounds awful. It’s similar in that they both contain top coats, and don’t need one after. They are different. Might I ask what went so horribly wrong?
@@VintageBeeDesign we did the whole prep deal and the paint just wouldn't adhere. And because I am a freak I filmed the prep and paint back when I did it to show the place where I purchased the paint. Then they gave me the clear primer Which also didn't really work either. We painted a hutch and some chairs. Like I said they reimbursed me the cost of supplies. I am a painter by trade and use old school methods like bin shellac for primer and enamal topcoat. So I wanted to try something new and well 💩 happens I guess. What do you think about the paint?
It’s not my favorite paint. We sell it and a lot of our customers love it. I prefer chalk paint. Like you, I clean, prime, paint, and top coat (usually). I love distressed and don’t care for the way fusion distressed.
@@VintageBeeDesign what about the wise owl? Is it durable and is it worth the price of admission?
I do like the wise owl OHE. Like Fusion, I’m not a fan of it distressed though.
