Completely flawless video from beginning to end. My one and only complaint is the card orders. You had the fortune cards go next after the order. The fortune cards are for before the order cards. But the tactics cards that you put at the end is correct. The instruction book says that it's in alphabetical order to do fortune first, then the order, and conclude with the tactics cards. I've tried it with my D-Day game and it worked very well. Loved the video nonetheless. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for posting this video, I have owned my copy of D-Day for near four years now, bit because I never understood how to play it, it's been languishing in my closet ever since. Now that I have a good idea on how to play it, I certainly will be more often. :) Also, would it be possible to do more Axis and Allies videos in the future? Like maybe either a Europe or Pacific 1940, or Guadalcanal....or definitely one on 1914, the World War I version? As, I have an idea as how to play them but...I would like a refresher.
+Legacy1912 You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed the video! I definitely would like to do more Axis & Allies in the future. I've got a few videos in the pipeline before that, but we'll see.
Once you get the hang of the order cards, you don't actually have to use them since the steps are printed on the battle board. If you leave out the fortune events you can just give the tactics cards to each side and they can decide when to use them. It really streamlines things.
I have a question about the first round... So, the paratroops assault in the first round only. When it gets to order 11, do are the paratroops included in the assault? Do they attack twice in the first round or are they excluded? The rules don't seem to enlighten me.
+Praxxxis1 From the Rules: "Once they have landed, these units act as regular infantry, so this card is removed from the deck." They only assault as paratroopers in the first round. After that they act as regular infantry. I read that as yes they would participate so essentially battle twice.
Hey Harsh Rules great video. Just 1 small thing you didnt say in your video: On the reinforcements phase you cannot place more units in the beachhead boxes then silhouettes printed. Alot of people forget about this rule. I didnt even know about this untill a year later :p
hey anyone have a good link/suggestions for house rules for d day? just played it a few times after taking a break from it - very hard to win as the allies - thoughts???
After 7 years of owning this game...finally tried to play by the rules...was up to 12am before my buddy finally called it quits and surrendered. Wish it was simpler. Although the concept is really cool

What about when blockhouses are the only axis unit in the zone?
When do you move the time marker
Awesome video! I played once a year ago and this was a nice refresher. Thanks!
Any plans for a 1941 video for us newbies? :)
+reignman40boozer5 - Glad you enjoyed the video! I'll see about adding 1941 to the production list for upcoming episodes.
