I've seen many many mud races and such in my time and it seems that these guys have something figured out that the Americans tend to overlook. That is, air pressure. I can't say that folks here in the States don't understand the concept, Of course they do, I've heard it discussed, just not as much in circles of mud racers or obstacles too for that matter. And I've noticed every one of these guys have their tires down to almost zero pressure. Seems to be quite effective and I really think some of the larger American made or at least American modified racers could benefit largely from pulling a lot more air from their tires prior to racing...
Something else I noticed that is considerably different in these racers and their vehicles is that it's not a horsepower fest as it is here in the States. In fact it seems the show is rather quiet. Hear the United States It's a game or sometimes more of a show of horsepower and the consequential sound from that. It's long been an American philosophy of there's no replacement for displacement. Meaning, there's no excuse for small motors. And there's nothing in technique or in build to compete with horsepower. Except believe it or not there was one gal and we had bought herself a Sherp. My first time seeing one at least here in the States. With everybody else with all their horsepower and lift it up so high here she came and just walked right through the whole pit Well those other huge trucks were getting stuck halfway and before. I was impressed with the sure footedness of the Sherp!

The 4 wheel articulated ones seem to do the best all around. It's very interesting too how the tracked machines can sometimes work themselves into a very tight spot.
