When you ride for slavery you're on the dark side as soon as you leave the barn

I fail to see how the dark side of the rebel cavalry was exposed.

It’s incredible that what was left of the Confederate forces were still able to attack and force Union forces to retreat. There was no food left for the Confederates and ammunition was extremely limited. What very little food reached them was spoiled and full of worms often causing severe stomach sicknesses and dysentery. Their horses were also starving and weak. Still yet they remained a force to be feared and full of fight sending many well fed and excellently equipped Union troops with 2 to 4 times their number into headlong retreat.

At this point in the war no one was fearing what was left of the confederate forces. They were destroying it.

Five Forks capsulizes the Lost Cause. Stunning valor in the face of relentless force.

Will someone please explain the difference between 13 colonies declaring their independence in 1776 and 11 states declaring their independence in 1861.
How often we forget that Robert E. Lee was superintendent of West Point of the military university for three years - and that he was offerered command of the Union army.

The US got recognition and help from France. Nobody recognized the Confederates because nobody wanted to be associated with slavery.

But Lee decided to support the confederate successionist and to maintain slavery. He also broke his oath to protect the union so his previous reputation as a leader, was lost.
