What a lovely insight into the pearls of Sherborne. You’ve tempted the travel palet of many I’m sure. In 10 minutes you’ve done the town credit. They ought to be pleased with your presence there. Enjoy the rest of the week. 👏🇳🇱😎🥝Cheers from a very warm Alsace France.

Yes, one of my favourite places in Dorset is Sherborne.
      Glad you enjoyed it.
      Enjoy Alsace!

Beautiful views, Paul! It looks like a lovely place to explore. Loved the shot of the toy miniatures - they've definitely seen some use over the years. It was enjoyable hearing that organ playing as well.

Yes, Sherborne is a real favourite town of my over the years, as you say a really lovely place to explore around.
Oh yes, the toy minatures, they were fun, weren't they? I would have go into to have a wander in the shop but sadly it wasn't open as it was later on a Sunday afternoon (I had been filming elsewhere earlier).
That organ was such a delight and the paintwork was beautiful - it had been restored by a father and son team, and built originally in Bristol in the 1900s I think.
Always great to hear from you.
      Take care,
      Paul

      Thank you!
I can't claim credit for writing or performing the music though (!) - just choosing it. I do take some time choosing pieces to use in each video, and where to place them with the photo fades and transitions. I do feel the music adds to the overall feel of each video - although sometimes I just rely on ambient/natural sounds.
      Thank you for watching!

Remember Sherborne park and parts of the town, during a brief visit many years ago. Look forward to your next visit.

Yes, it really is a lovely town. I do hope to explore both of Sherborne's Castles and Park & Lake next time, as well as more of the town.
Great to hear from you - hope you have a good week!
      Take care,
      Paul

Mornin' Paul, Great shortbite and a great location to choose, lots of history and interesting buildings. I hope you will be able to go back one day.
I was wondering if there was going to be some model trains after those dinky toys in that shop window but they must have sold out!!
I noted one of the shops was D'Urberville Antiques. Then it twigged. Sherborne is nearby the Blackmore Vale so we are in Hardy country and this town was used as a setting in his novels. From what I can see Tess of the D'Urbervilles was based in nearby Marnhull. There is a Hardy Way linking the places used in his books.
    All the best!!

      Thank you David!
Yes, I filmed this one right after the Yeovil Junction and Steam Centre one.
It is a wonderful town, with much of interest.
I do hope to return for a longer explore to the castle, and to inside the magnificent Abbey which was closed for a service on my short visit.
They had model trains in the window too but they didn't look as photogenic or as interesting as the roadsigns, I felt.
Well spotted with D'Urberville! There is a lady in one of those windows in that photo too!
      Thanks so much!
Hope you have a good week.
      Paul

Lovely stuff Paul, you obviously have a good "eye" when it comes to taking a photo, the compositions are excellent. Look forward to the full visit. Bev.

    Hello Paul. Greetings from Poland
What a lovely video of one of my favourite towns in Dorset. Many happy memories of playing cricket there for Bournemouth in The Dorset League.
Super photographs. Loved the bright vibrant colours of some of the shop fronts. Shame you didn't have time to look inside The Minster. It's very beautiful. Still, maybe next time?

      Thank you Michael.
Yes, sadly I was short of time, as I had been filming over at Yeovil Jct Sta and Rly Ctr earlier in the day.
Unfortunately, Sherborne Minster was closed for a service (well, it was a Sunday!).
I do hope to return at some point to have a bigger wander here - I particularly like the castles and the large lake too.
Glad it brought back happy memories for you Michael.
      Take care,
      Paul

Lovely video, Paul. Were those road signs for sale, or on display?

      Thank you Michael!
Alas, I think they were for display only. It was later on a Sunday afternoon so the shop wasn't open to inquire though.
      Cheers,
      Paul

    Hi Paul
I know Sherborne quite well as it was relatively local, plus working near there - stunning 👌❤️

      Hi Phil,
Yes, it really is a stunning town - very few towns are as complete as this one in terms of their all around beauty and charm.
      Thank you!
      Cheers,
      Paul

Oh Paul one of my most favourite videos that you have produced!
Please return & do a more in depth video as you said you hoped to do at the end of the video.
I liked the lead traffic & people models particularly- you’ve had a few comments on them! I liked the display of coffee table books too!
I have visited the Castle- think it was Sir Walter Rayleigh’s but he never got to enjoy it! And then I think it belonged to the Digbys. But can’t rely on my memory haha!
Just a perfect relaxing video. Thanks!

      Thank you Diana!
Yes, this was only a shorter one as I had been filming in Yeovil earlier.
I will do a longer tour here as soon as I am able. It is one of my favourite towns in the Westcountry.
I think you are right about the castle (I think there are two, but one is a ruin) but it is a while since I visited.
      Glad you enjoyed it.
      Take care,
      Paul
