We need more vids to show people how truly beautiful and amazing North Dakota really is. I've lived in South Dakota and in Arizona, I'm back in ND and never leaving

I'm from north Dakota, but living in Indiana right now, and I really miss north Dakota, is such a beautiful state and so peaceful, It may be hard for some people to appreciate this state with its barren landscape and cold winters, but if you really experience north Dakota (riding horses in western north Dakota, hiking it buttes, its farms, snowmobiling in the winter, appreciating its peaceful scenery, tons more) you will realize its like a hidden gem of the United States.
North Dakota will always be home, no matter where I live later in my life.

Why do I feel like it's so quiet and depressing and that there's nothing to do there

5th Dimension, you took the words out of my mouth. I really don't think I could have worded it better. I've been living in Central Oregon for 40 years, but spent the first 16 years of my life in North Dakota. I wouldn't trade those 16 years for nothing. Some will appreciate the state for what it offers or doesn't offer, and some will downright dislike it. After-all, what is there to see? The mighty Missouri River, carving it's way through the state. Fort Mandan, south of Bismarck a few miles. The largest Holstein cow in the workd. The state also boasts somewhere between 6-8 Colleges and Universities. And, to think that there are those from out of state who find that a particular program they want to study was found only at a college in North Dakota. Case in point, Molly McAuliffe, from Klamath Falls, Or., moved to Fort Yates, N.D. to attend college and pursue her equine specialties. I know about that because I read the article in Prorodeo Sports News. In the 90's, she was pursuing her barrel-racing career I could go on and on.Just like others who live in the great state of North Dakota.

I also moved from North Dakota to Indiana but North Dakota will always be home to me. My sisters and I still have the family farm land and I dearly miss it. I miss the sounds and smells of spring on the prairie, the western meadowlark and the smell of fresh turned earth is like heaven.

I live in North Dakota and I truly is a beautiful state there is so much to see like the Peace Gardens, Roosevelt Park, outdoor historic sights like the mounds in this video. And the people that live here are great and help each other out just a small peaceful state

Great video, but too short for my taste. I grew up in ND in the 1950s, but family moved away because of new job for father. Great to see some pics of my childhood and a reminder of how beautiful the state can be. Winter can be gorgeous as well.

The region is beautiful and the sense of space and optimism in western North Dakota is great. Medora is a great little town. I will visit eastern North Dakota next year.

I live in the southwestern part of ND. It is beautiful on this end of state. Very hilly and the heart river to the north and the Cannonball river to the south. A beautiful place. The winters are not for the weak. They are brutal.

I still miss ND. I've been to most of the places in the video. We moved away in 1997 and haven't been too thrilled with Kentucky or Massachusetts. I just wish the ND winters weren't so harsh and there were more jobs.

Awesome job! I'm from Minneapolis, but lived a few months in Bismarck. This video really does an excellent job of capturing the joy of the summer in ND. I also have the same camera...and a son who does professional video editing...so I speak with some knowledge of the subject--this is really, really nice.

It's really a cool place. And I get where you're coming from, I tried to follow the music and stay concise so the watcher wouldn't get bored. I disagree with the establishing shots bit though. I organized it Chronologically: Indian Village shots followed an establishing sliding shot, the house was introduced by a pan, and the ending pan over Bismarck was shot on top of the building I establish earlier. My stubbornness aside though, thanks so much for taking the time and checking it out!

I would recommend the sony NEX-3n, or the canon t3i. I would consider making room for better lenses, but DSLR's are the best option for a cinematic look. You can PM me with any other questions.

Great job man! I actually want to visit there now.
A few pointers, I think it should have more establishing shots so I know where I am, I felt I jumped around a lot, even thought it's generally the same area, and some of the shots were like an unfinished sentence... you set it up, you start showing it, then you're like, NOPE.
Apart from that, great shots, good sound editing and nice location. Congrats :)

Reminds me of Pine Ridge Indian Reservation with lots of untouched, undeveloped landscape. A place where one can still go on a vision quest and remain alone in a natural setting. Just what I see here. Never been there and it may not be accurate what I have said.

Emma Lai-rodriguez nothing there is a giant cow in new salem, the enchanted highway, sone stuff in bismarck and fargo, not really anything else. if you do go to bismarck then make sure to go to the capitol building, it is beautiful on the inside, and they just remade the museum last year.

Emma Lai-rodriguez, don't listen to Ser Scout; evidently he/she doesn't get out much. There are a lot of things to do in ND. Depending on what you like, you can do everything from outdoor activities, explore the history, arts, entertainment.
