Very cool, Mike! What a gorgeous day and breathtakingly beautiful place! Thank you so much for sharing and taking us along on your epic adventure! ❤👍💪🙏🌲🔥☀
Mike, this is a tremendous investment for your good health. And I mean both physically and mentally… You need to go up in the mountains like this at least every other weekend for the remainder of the summer.
Hi Mike As I head out for the next 4-5 days, to my special hiding places on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, I checked my YT Feed and there you are. I have a feeling you would really dig the places I've been camping in for the last 30 years. Some of the locations have been discovered by those idiot side by side Dorks, who just Tear the place up, make Noise and Dust, then split. That's ok, there are many more Hard to get to spots, and I'm Not Sharing, Unless you are a Good & Worthy Camper with something to offer. God Bless & Remain Safe. Have a good time. Looks like you are. Vincenzo Here.
Hey Bud it's good to see you out in the bush with the Astro, I have a '03 Astro but with barn doors, I like to go fly fishing a lot & the bugs are killer so I came up with cheap screens for barn doors & slider so I can keep them open. I went to my local hardware store & bought black fiberglasss door screen, to me the black looked better, it comes in rolls big enough to cover both doors so they cut it to my sizes, then picked up some strong disc magnets & JB Welded them to the inside, & to finish them off I went to the local auto store & picked up some black door edging, the hardest part of the whole deal was putting the edging around the outside to give it that finished look, they are cut to fit around the door jams, looked so good I had someone ask where I bought them, anyways just a thought might help you out as you like to build thing, have a great time !
Absolutely beautiful! If it weren’t for my legs being screwed up from my spinal cord injury I would love to hike and swim again. I can do a slow 1 mile walk on my treadmill and a 1 mile cycle on my recumbent bike and that’s it for me. Thanks for sharing.❤
No matter who we are. We all become conditioned to our surroundings. In the forest a tree leaning up against another; could be a 'widow maker'. However, in LA it's just a 'leaner'. I think it takes 6-12 months to feel comfortable in any new setting.
Great video John Muir a nice long overland hike in the Sierras. Lost is a state of mind because if you don’t understand the surroundings and your abilities and limitations you will remain lost. 👍 Thanks for the shout out glad it got some field time. Where was BigFoot? Long sleeve shirts, lightweight pants (zippered at the knee) quick drying and bug repellant a must in the mountains.
Awesome stuff, I'm envious! I use the same water can and had same issues with leaving water in it. I rinse it out with clean water and a little bit of Clorxe bleach, gets rid of stale taste. Semper To Mac.
Welcome Back! Its nice to get away, but its even nicer to back in ones own crib. Your keeping it interesting. Looked like Dinkey Creek, not to far from Shaver Lake area?
I used to be really into bigfoot. I was a member of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization. Favorite scary movie of all time. The Legend of Boggy Creek. That started my fascination with Bigfoot.
This is the short version of my experience - There's a better longer version in my Sunday Night chat playlist: th-cam.com/video/Gooe1oi1XVQ/w-d-xo.html
It is indeed fun to get lost once in awhile, but the wilderness can be very unforgiving and that little hike to the creek, could go bad, real quick. Always carry a satellite comm device, so you can get help, if the shite hits the fan and you don't become a statistic.
its funny that you started talking about bigfoot because before you even spoke about it I could feel that vibe out there! Beautiful footage! be careful out there!
At 11.00 minutes there is a bird that chirps a 2 tone sound. And repeats it every few seconds f9r the next 10-30 seconds after. Does anyone know what bird that is ????? I listen to a bird like that every morning when I'm getting ready to go in for work. I've been trying to figure out what the bird is for a few years.
That's some good content, man !! Being away from your same'ol, same'ol, routine, scene, robotic bullshit...you see where I'm coming from...blah blah blah. Quite "the find" there. ✌️ very nice
Hello Mike! How are ya? I was just wondering why my comment of a few days ago ( on this video) was deleted? I apologize if it seemed offensive but I don't think it was! To the contrary, I thought that it was very completory and I was thanking you for sharing this great video with stunning views of the falls, rock formations, etc...and of your choice of great music - Sly and the Family Stone. Anyhow, sorry if it offended you in any way. By the way, really enjoying the videos of your camping adventure! Take care!
Dude… I was thinking…brain eating amoeba before you mentioned it. Also concerned about you out there alone - I know you know your stuff…but… Do you wear any kind of tracking device? I was thinking, twisted ankle or other injury that kept you immobile?!?! Also, what about bear? Looks like beautiful country - must’ve been cool. Thanks for sharing!
I don't worry.... Been doing this stuff for so long - I hope you watch all the videos from this trip as I address some of your thoughts. People need to get out there, common sense and decades of doing this sort of thing keeps me confident. Humans used to live in the wilderness, you've got to get back to it as often as possible to remind your inner animal you've still got it.
@@AstroVanTribe - OF COURSE I’ll watch them all! Looking forward to it… Aside from the great content, I’m always amused to hear my girls ask - “…Dad, are you watching your crazy friend Mike again?!?!” (‘Crazy’ as a term of endearment of course…)…
Somebody forgot their Deep Woods Off. 🙄🦟🦟🦟 Tempted to strip down nakked and go swimming ? I think that is someone else's YT channel. I don't have any idea where you are by those waterfalls but it does look fantastic. No people among that batholith of granite rock! Nature wearing it away by water and erosion. Tons of other special places there to poke around in too. A pin was just added to a certain map by Wonderhussy!
Looks like a great place. Getting back to the natural world would do everyone some good. Unwind and relax.
Enjoyed watching EVERY minute. Love when you stop for the peaceful still shots.
peace and serenity is a must for a balanced mindset!
💯👍😎
Very cool, Mike! What a gorgeous day and breathtakingly beautiful place! Thank you so much for sharing and taking us along on your epic adventure! ❤👍💪🙏🌲🔥☀
There's more videos from this trip that'll be posted up over the next several days - Hope you enjoy them, as well...
@@AstroVanTribe Just finished watching (and very much enjoying) Part 2, and left a comment. Great stuff, Brother! Looking forward to more!
And a great time was had by all your tribe, thanks ever so much for sharing! 🌿🌿🌿
Epic is the correct term. And kudos for grinding coffee -- 1000% better! Happy Independence Day everyone

Nice man. Get out there in the mountains. You'll discover a new self in you every time you go up there.
Thank you, looks like beautiful scenery, you're not too bad to look at either 😊 Happy trails
Very cool trip. You are very lucky to have such a nice area to visit. God bless.

Nice place! We just spent a week in Kingman and Williams. 🤠
This is awesome!!! The campfire was riveting and set the tone for the video.
The videos that follow are better....

Great video Mike. Looks like you got the R and R you needed to charge you batteries. Nice scenery and the vans looking good.

Sometimes at the top of the falls there lies paradise 🤙🏼

I was able to get it to go away after going through it with the creek water a couple times
Great video!!! Happy 4th of July!!!
Kind of strange seeing you out in the "wood" instead of the hood.

Your biggest enemy out in the pristine native setting is ticks
I don't find ticks out here like I did on the east coast

You should look up the Sierra sounds. Curious of your opinion
Yeah, I've watched those videos, cool stuff
I was hoping to see a sasquach.
Me too, kind of, them things are kind of scary
fantastic video, love you wild in nature, tips, advice, and over all look! the self made fire pit is awesome, too.
👍👍
You need to get the quartz tuna.
I like my women like I like my coffee ground up and kept in the freezer.

Was there wildfire smoke in the air?
yes
There are water slides up stream. Looks like Dinkey Creek?

never heard of it
Are those Greek sandal"s ?

What’s the elevation there, Mike?
7,800' here - On another hike I went over 8K, could be 9K , That's a good one, stay tuned
The soles on your boots are worn that much already?
It's been a year of wearing them every day
You don’t purifier your water from the creek.
Looks like Dinky Creek
That's it - Stay tuned for the next camp spot "down by the river" all alone, it was great
