Great job man, nice presentation and consistent flow. I love how your tempo is paced relatively fast, too! If you're serious about learning photoshop, you learn how to pause when needed so great pacing. Also your cut scenes are nice as well. I almost passed on this because because the instructor is a bit flamboyant. Its simply a personal taste issue for me not a negative comment or any kind of suggestion to change. I usually have a bit of difficulty learning when the instructor isn't more serious. However, for some reason I stuck with it and am very happy I did. This instructor is excellent in the way he explains the details and in the structure of the instruction. He shows you the effect first and then, when he has your attention, he gives you the details of what he did. He repeats the details to the perfect degree, enough so that it sticks but not so much that you get annoyed with the repetition. I highly recommend these videos even if, like me, you typically prefer a more serious delivery. Don't confuse style with professionalism. This is top notch training and I subscribed after watching the first video.

Well, "Magic" may happen - but, you can easily overdo the special effects in PhotoShop. It's a nice fantasized version of life, similar to a pre-digital effect called "air-brushing". But if "realism" is what you're aiming for, sometimes "less" really is "more".

so when i do the last part with the black and white adj layer directly above the background so it's under my grouped adjustments I see nothing unless I turn off my adjustment group - what am I doing wrong ?

it will be better if share materials related with tutorials as in this tutorials image, because other author too do this so that we can exactly as tutorials
Other authors/tutorials, Do not always give you the images, as most time (AS In this case) the image was submitted to him which means it belongs to someone else, SO is not his to give away..
Also if instructor is using one that is paid for from say shutterstock, they then are also not allowed to GIVE you the image. and where they do supply that's same image it is smaller and of a very low resolution of the original..
Just be thankful there are those people here on YT that are doing these tutorials for free!.. can't just learn by having everything just given to you!
