      He was a point per game player for 2 years in the OHL, spanning 3 teams. Even in a defensive role at Peterborough his points were good. I think he's ready.

    If Grant's right and Senecke is wearing size 14 skates, he's not done growing yet. 14 skates = 16 shoe's! Even if its 14 shoe's, I bet he reaches at least 6'5" ! With his skill and size he would be a steal at 5 not a reach! Im guessing McCagg has him ranked #2! When he fills out that frame he'll be deadly!

      We all pray that Habs get him ... Trade Caufeild at for fourth overall pick... Keep the Fifth pick for Demidov or Lindstrom.

      @@Balryon People over estimate Caulfeild. he can never be a first lie player on a cup team ... great shot from close yes ...…however, IMO ... fleshy /overweight … average speed … no acceleration distance … hits nobody …. loses board battles … falls down often … does not enter the crease 5 on 5 …. cannot play 3rd and 4th line because he is an ineffective checker … cannot play the P.K. … So at 8$ million, if he does not score 35+ his value is diminished …

    • @Balryon

      @@FooFahFoeFum Yeah I always told myself that at 5.7 height or whatever, if he doesn't score a lot, he is basically useless! I have always seen him as an Alex Debrincat. I won't say that he can't be a first line guy on a cup team, maybe he could maybe not, but I agree that people overestimate him! I do like him, just that he is not the superstar that people think he is. People just need to realize that we must not to rely on him to be THE guy like Pastrnak or Kucherov or Kaprisov or Panarin. I see his best year to be a 45 goal season but maybe once or twice maximum. Unless he'd played with McJesus! I think this year he struggled because Marty made him learn a lot to become a better overall player. I think from now on he will be better hopefully and come back to a 35+ goal scorer!

    I wanted beck at 26 over mesar and was glad to get him at 33. I though his player comparison was pleckanec during his 70pt season. No I don't expect beck to hit 70 points but he will be a great 2 way center with a Slight more offensive edge while still giving the other teams hell in his own zone.

    • @scottm9010
      @scottm9010 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve watched both play in person many times over the last two seasons and I can tell you Mesar has always looked better when they’ve played head to head. Beck may be more complete and he may or may not turn out to be the better NHLer but Mesar is more skilled. Depends on what you need I guess. If you want a solid 3rd line two way guy then Beck. If you want a skilled playmaker with great vision and wheels, then Mesar is your guy.

    • @scottm9010
      @scottm9010 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LeoX-x8p nah, Mesar is a gamer. The only concern I had with him was whether or not he would fold when the play got really tight and physical. During the season a Knights player run his head into the glass with an elbow right in front of me. He ended up leaving the game and if I remember correctly, he missed a couple games. But he was a monster in the playoffs and I stopped doubting him.

    If they take Sennecke and he’s anything short of a superstar heads should roll, no idea why taking huge risks at #5 is on the table when catton’s production is in historic company

    • @FooFahFoeFum
      @FooFahFoeFum 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Catton is small ... under 170 pounds ... Habs already have the quota on small players ... ... Habs want size ... The playoffs should have taught you that hitting is out of control. Bigger guys can handle hits better than smaller players. A Ford F250 will destroy a Toyota Corral in a head on collision.

      @@FooFahFoeFum Just a lazy analysis, Kucherov isn't big but dominates in the playoffs. Pacioretty was huge and one of the softest players in the last 20 years with mtl. Gallagher in his prime was more physically imposing then any forward they've had. You gotta look at the player, not just the height.

    Demidov maybe also victim of the russian factor. Indeed, he could possibly fall a few spots. Pretty hard decision to spend a top3 pick on a guy you could not go see regularly in person playing nor interviewing. We will see ...
