Remember folks do not let these reviewers dissuade you from using the dual loop strap as most of them are more concerned with image than practicality. Try both and see which is more comfortable for you.
That’s true, but also remember that for some people (like me) the single strap is actually more comfortable. Still could be better though for both headbands.
Yeah single strap is way more comfortable in my opinion. Maybe it’s because I’m a big guy, but I’ve gone 6 hours and I don’t feel the weight at all. The only time I see myself using the dual strap is for video meetings that I want a more accurate persona. I’ve notice the internal cameras can see my eyebrows much better when I have the dual strap band and I suspect it’s because I can support the headset on the top of my head as opposed to the front of my face and back of my head.
I have been using mine for almost a week now. It’s weird that when I take it off, I sometimes look at items in real life and automatically pinch my finger expecting it to do something. Do you get that?
I’ve gotten to the point where with the dual loop strap I can use this for 8 hours straight and literally completely forget it’s on my head. It’s absolutely amazing.
Great video. Use case 1, productivity is Apple’s most advertised use case. Immersive video is good with iPhone footage but video filmed with the actual cameras on the Vision Pro reviewers have said is next level. How are some people able to demonstrate pulling the screen close and then it becomes a touchscreen? You were right to be excited about the Vision Pro, the clarity, the low latency and the UI are all groundbreaking and the biggest hurdles to mass adoption for regular people. You know how much better it is than the Quest, ignore the noise.
I have an appointment at my nearest store to try just the demo. From the various reviews I’ve seen about AVP, I am very intrigued. I think this VR cool introduction from Apple into such a niche market! Very exciting!
for a first gen apple product its pretty impressive. I personally dont find the use for it to justify the price. I'd rather own a high end 16 inch MacBook Pro or something like that
For the desk set up, I use a mouse and keyboard stand built for Ing gaming rig set ups, so I don’t have a desk at all, and it works perfectly, and I can actually face into the room with all my pictures and wall hangings instead of facing into a wall or a corner, which is what a desk does
The Harry Potter reference comparison to special videos is spot on!! I went to the demo and that’s EXACTLY what it felt like but I had no idea how to explain it other than 3D 😂
It is well worth the purchase to photograph daughter! I'm glad I bought it now! Otherwise, when she grows up, You will never be able to take another picture of her!
@@cdcclark If you can do that (i.e. have an iphone 15) I highly encourage you to do this. I got my AVP specifically for the spatial videos and photos. They are amazing. BUT even if you don't have one now... getting all that video on your iphone 15 while you can is brilliant. Because then if/when you get an AVP in future, that content is ready for you - and of course you can't go back in time to get it.
It’s such a missed opportunity for such a powerful, ground breaking computing device to lack data ports. At the very least I’d love to use an audio interface with one for production work w/ wired headphones, external hard drives, or even inputing external HDMI signals (PCVR, etc) .. They should make the external battery pack a usb/TB data hub in future versions. I’m sure you could probably use a bluetooth adapter for wired headphones but then there’s latency to deal with.
For uses like these, I can say mirroring the MacBook screen in the Vision Pro works. And yes, that means you have to own a MacBook, but if you’re a creator of some kind with a need for professional ports considering a Vision Pro, you probably already have a MacBook
@@seste87 I just found out Apple released a $300 adapter (only for devs) that enables the USB-C port to be used for data - so the functionality is there, it’s just being purposefully walled off from consumers. Wifi/bluetooth streaming is fine for most things but it’s a shame the low latency/high bandwidth wired connection is unusable. I just don’t get Apple’s logic here - even the walled garden of iPhone/iPad supports wired connections.
@@AdamsOlympia Apple has been trying to get rid of ports for decades on their consumer products. That’s nothing new. If it bothers you, don’t buy it, because I don’t think that’s going to change. I was disappointed that it’s just Wi-Fi 6 instead of 6e, but that’s probably because of the delayed release. I think they had hardware designed as early as 2021.
My biggest con is the significant reflection/glare that I see when watching media in cinema / dark immersive environments. I don’t see any creators mentioning it but I’ve switched light seals and tried another demo unit at an Apple Store and I still see it. I wish someone had some feedback / tips for this. The workaround for me has been using lighter immersive environments but I want to use cinema and the theatre Disney plus environments.
Yes, I own a Vision Pro (512GB). During the last four day, I have been learning to navigate and explore the many functions. I had forgotten how to expand and contract the environments by rotating the Digital Crown. This video pointed out that function. Thank you! Today, I was viewing TH-cam via my MacBook Pro as well as TH-cam via the Juno app. The controls are different and "exciting". Ha! Over time it will feel very natural. Ha!
Forgive my ignorance, but the concept of spatial video confuses me. Are you not just simply viewing a projected 2D video as if it were a screen? Or is there an actual sense of depth? Also, can you move your head around and look around within the video, or is the viewpoint limited to the one from the camera?
When you look around the windows stay put. You can place objects in another room and it will stay there. So maybe you put a virtual clock on the wall in the hallway. When you go away and come back the clock is still where you left it. If you’re displaying your Mac’s screen it’s 2D. Everything else is 3D. There is depth, height, the whole nine. Hope that helps.
With humility, don’t each of these use cases have a lower barrier to entry solution/tool? Example: FaceTime can actually record a video of me now w a device I don’t wear. Vs a MiiMoji plus Headset. Yes, the VPro experience is one of a kind and mesmerizing. I am excited for this space. But is the justification for the VP for these use cases are “interesting” vs. “useful/value” balance? Yes, the Sports is unique but has the cost of one way isolation. Most people go to sports games and buy 2x tickets not one. Great vid; makes sense. Just a very thought provoking product. ❤️ 🤝
Yes. It's compatible with 99% of iPad apps. I can run Game Pass in it just fine. I also am able to stream Switch emulation from my Mac Studio over to the headset. Nintendo Switch upscaled to 4k resolution on a 200 inch screen in my vision is a miracle. AVP is seriously impressive.
Think of the device as a M2 iPad. It can do everything a iPad can do, so yes, it can store local videos and play them, given you have the correct apps.
Got a question for you on device sharing. If I have an awesome spatial video that I took that I want my wife to see, is that possible? My guess would be that, if she puts on my AVP, the device will know it’s not me via Optic ID. I understand there is guest mode but I assume (and kind of hope) that, in guest mode, a guest couldn’t go through my (the primary user’s) photo library. So would it just not be possible to do?
So guest mode is what you make of it. When you turn on guest mode you can limit which apps they have access to. But you can also just leave it so they can see everything.
@@9to5Mac interesting. Thanks for the reply. And, out of interest, is there any way to allow someone in without enabling guest mode? Just let them loose in your profile. Disabling Optic ID maybe?
Once set up as a screen for a MBP can it work if the MBP is in clamshell mode. Also will it work with the MBA Mac Mini or Studio. What about dual screens.
Apple needs to add a feature to the Harry Potter movies on the Apple TV store where you can walk around dumbleore’s office, pick up each movie represented as a memory in a vile, and then dive into the pensive and watch the movies. This would be awesome!
If 72% of desktop and laptops are Windows based I’m not understanding how productivity will be enhanced by the VPro. My current work environment supports 1200 Windows based PC’s and I don’t see our Cybersecurity department authorizing this setup any time soon for work purposes.
