Love your energy and advice, Andrew! I'm on day 127 of your 40 day challenge and it's been a total game changer. I've played to 100+ people at private events I helped put together, I post mixes of different genres several times a month and in the middle of putting together a club event. Couldn't have done it without you. Thanks man

"I've giving up on trying to be cool a long time ago..." Men what an amazing thing to hear out a dj's mouth. That kind of thinking is exactly what made me wanna learn how to mix (and I hope later on to organise parties) : the love of lightness and freedom in parties opposed to the seriousness and pretentious parties that we can unfortunately find a lot these days around techno music. Great to hear you talk about conscious breathing and Wim Hof stuff, that's a cheat code for life

Most of these tips struck a chord with me.
My last gig I had a feeling something might go wrong so I arrived early to find no gear set up! The bar manager said he thought it was next week but quickly set up and I was able to start on time.
DJ ing is like driving it might feel good if you’ve had a few drinks and you know the road but your ability to respond to the unexpected will be impaired and you will crash. I played my last gig sober and there were loads of problems but I still smashed it.
I’m going to try those breathing exercises 😀

Brother, WHERE ARE YOU? lol. I'm only two years in and have found amazing value in your videos. Thanks. I have a 50% planned set. And enough tracks to have two extra hours. It's worked very well.

Interesting point about drinking getting a hold of us...I definitely try a few things I wouldn't after a few drinks but I got good enough at doing a good set sober before I started having a drink before or while doing a set so I can take it or leave it. Personally, I enjoy listening to the music more after a couple of beers than feel like I'm better after a couple of beers.

My big choke right now is playlist curation. I get to points where I go from big energy tracks and transition into tracks that get minimal and it kills the energy. Struggling cause I keep trying to mix in key with it

Please can you do a video on the art of preparation! I currently have a playlist of around 40 tracks and in each folder and what I do is kinda just wing it through the folders and I just make sure the tracks all play in key. That's about it would love a video to help of that's okay

Yes please get a vid out of prepping a set! There is literally no informative video on TH-cam showing how a club dj would go about, building his playlist, Bpm, key, genre whether you are super strict with it or whether you could say throw a house tune in at a tech night or whether these kind of things can have you in trouble, prepping your list how to build up in energy throughout the set whilst still keeping key correct and Bpm building up etc etc. fallback tunes incase the crowd ain’t liking it etc. please put a bid up how you go about it.
    Thankyou.
