As a kid through my teen yrs I watched these and his westerns with my mom the same way. I lost my mom in 2013. I'm 53 yrs old now and would do anything for just one more movie. Rest easy Mom I love and miss you! 2211
70s films are the greatest. The best decade for movies. 100 years from now, people will still be watching and quoting the Dirty Harry movies, The Godfather, Godfather II, Rocky, Cuckoo’s Nest, Star Wars, Jaws, Annie Hall, Deliverance..
Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson, Burt Reynolds, James Garner, Donald Sutherland,Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Lee Van Cleef. All these actors and more guaranteed a decent movie without knowing anything else about the story. I just became a fan of the actors, and sometimes you saw a film that you otherwise wouldn’t have watched. No Netflix. No Rotten Tomatoes. No Spoiler alerts. No B.S. Going to the movies was an event.
Harry always got the best of them. When I saw this movie at the theater in 1976, the funniest line was when Ms. Gray screamed, "If this is your idea of humor, Inspector. . ." The whole theater rocked with laughter.
Brad Dillman steals that last scene as the police captain. If you were a TV casting director from 1960-1990, and needed someone to play an unlikable, swarthy or craven bellyacher, Dillman was your go-to guy. He made a great living as a character actor on TV series and made-for-TV movies over the years. I met him once at a college football combine in the early 2000s when I did a double-take and stupidly stared at him. I thought I recognized him but couldn't imagine what he was doing there. I didn't realize then that he was something of an expert on football scouting and had already written two books critiquing and improving how the NFL evaluated college players. Who knew?😂 He was really cool about it -- recognized my confusion, came up to me, shook my hand and introduced himself. We ended up talking about football and movies for nearly an hour and he could not have been nicer. I was sad to hear about his death a few years back -- 2018, I think. But he lived a good long life -- 87 years old when he died.
Clint's 4th & final Dirty Harry film in '88 is Jim*Carrey's 1st movie: lip-syncing Axel Rose in '87's "Welcome to the Jungle", &, w: OG Guns 'N' Roses @ his*funeral!🤘🥀
We all forget it 😅😅😅 How FUNNY Clint Eastwood is in this 📽!! The kick in the Butt ( That made Harry 🙁) the shot in the ballz , his demotion to personnel🤣🤣🤣 classic Eastwood
Exactly like in The Netherlands, and now, after 20 January 2025 also in the USA from the top down: criminals are protected and often go scot-free, victims are further victimized leading to another trauma on top of the trauma caused by the bullying criminal. Somehow, people vote for that kind of thing. Why?
John Mitchum he was one of Clint Eastwoods frequent co stars and part of Eastwoods stock actors for his production company Malpaso. Mitchum was in Eastwoods The Outlaw Josey Wales in 1976.
San Francisco was always liberal and free thinking city. Yes there were and are bigots, and conservatives there, but unlike unlike other cities after the gold rush SF didn’t evict, hang Chinese nationals or burn their Chinatown as other parts of CA did. When no real estate would sell Willy Mays a home when the NY Giants relocated to SF, the Mayor San Francisco stepped up and offered to sell his home to him. You know, all Men are created equal. The city that gave birth to The Summer of Love. So many creative people lived and work here. Babylon by the Bay. Birthplace of Bank of Italy, you know it as Bank of America after the name change. Situated in the US State that generates most of the Produce, birthplace of Silicon Valley, birthplace of the Internet, In September of 1969, the first packet-switched computer network was installed in UCLA and was supervised by Kleinrock. In December of 1969, ARPA (US Dept of Defense network) expanded to include three other nodes throughout the United States: The Stanford Research Institute (SRI), The University of California Santa Barbara, and the University of Utah. Expansion became easy because of the decentralized structure of the network. The ARPA network was able to accommodate numerous kinds of machines which you are sending this information over. California's economy is ranked as the fifth largest in the world, with a nominal GDP of nearly $4.1 trillion as of 2024. It is the largest sub-national economy globally and represents about 14% of the total U.S. economy. We send the most money in taxes to DC to help pay for the “Welfare”Red States who take more money from the Federal Government than they supply by tax Revenue. And California does have a Conservative Population. Under Governor Ronald Reagan the state enacted bipartisan Gun Control. You are going to need California when the Tariffs affect Mexico’s exportation of 40% of US Produce into the US dries up in retaliation. Expect some pickup trucks to see a $3k sticker increase retail when Trump abrogates whatever he renamed NAFTA (and nothing else more) during his first term.
This scene kind of shows the actual direction the country took at the time, to get us where we are today. Harry did his best to keep the status quo, but the higher ups stepped on him constantly. We need even more than Harry Calahan. We need The Punisher.
@vikings844 Must be a California thing because I saw New York City police cars from the 1950's in a museum, and they all had one rotating red light on top.
Some of the best memories watcing these movies with my dad on. Saturday afternoon.
My dad LOVED (and still loves) these movies.
Dirty: I Love You 😘💕❤️

i grew up with Clint's movies... good memories from the 80s growing up...
The world needs more cops like Harry Callahan.
Every major city in the US needs a Dirty Harry or three.

Can you be patient enough to watch Marathon Man? Dustin Hoffman’s best performance ever. Is it safe?
Love the old school undercover cars and nobody rocks the sport coat like Clint!
Clint Eastwood, an American icon. Nuff said.
I am dreading the day we hear of his passing. It will mark the end of the good old Hollywood.
@@StuartRyan-yi5ok I try not to think of that day.
I remember the "personnel" scene in the theater. The crowd roared with laughter.
And still would! No matter they changed their name to Human Resources, Human Capital or any other new woke name. They are still management monkeys.
This is my all time favorite Dirty Harry scene. I chuckle every time I think about it.
what I love about the movie is SF once used to be such a nice place..
And while a pastiche and parody, the films were very predictive.
"I was in, personnel!"
Clint: "Exactly!" 😂😂😂 👍🏻👍🏻
Another great upload, thank you.

What do they want?
They want a car!
What are you going to do?
Give them one!
I’ll bet ya that most cops in the 1970s and 80s wanted to be like Inspector Callahan 😄
Most big city departments in 2024 probably desperately want him now.
Not only in that time

Amazing how one day later he has an itemised bill for all the damage 🤔🤔🤔🤔
This Movie is Great. It seems like a response to the Plot in the Movie "Dog Day Afternoon" with Al Pacino.
Joe Spano as a punk robber. So of course he later made detective with NYPD.😂
Less complicated world and better for it .

So San Francisco was going left wayyyyyy back then.
