      You must have a read a _bunch_ of books! 😂 I think that in the thought of Aristotle, the Daemon is the earth, Gaia. Something similar appears in Andean cosmology where the Pachamama is the source of fortune or _suerte._ See livelogic.blogspot.com/2019/10/on-free-will-and-conscious-awareness.html

    I used to be crippled by depression and anxiety until I found my calling making Old School RuneScape videos. I had the idea when I was younger but never thought it could be a career, so I went to college and got a degree. But as I got older my anxiety and depression grew more and more. I’ve been making videos for half a year now and I have never felt better.
    The first step is be honest with yourself about what you enjoy. That’s it. Don’t think about how much money it can make you. Chances are you will eventually make more than your current job if you pursue it long enough.

    To those who can relate, once you find your purpose and you know what you must do, the universe starts throwing signs directly to your face to the point where you can’t say it’s a coincidence. Once you shift your mind that nothing is a coincidence and you truly, truly feel it, your world will literally start changing in front of you. Good luck to everyone on their purpose and i know I’ll meet some of you in the near future at the top of the world. For now, let’s enjoy this journey ❤️

I suffer from laziness and a lethargic mind that entices me to live a life of comfortable mediocrity. After finding my purpose three years ago I have been struggling with this as well as financing myself. That ends now and these videos are helping me realize the fact that change is needed to embrace, progress, and overtake what plagues me. I will dedicate everyday to practice and I will start locating and purging the laziesness inside by switching it out with beneficial tasks that improve my state of mind, goodbye.

    I am struggling with this issue right now.
    Like many, I invested well over a decade of my life into higher education to get a well-paying job in the pharmaceutical industry.
    After two years I realised I didn't want to work with people solely motivated by money.
    I now teach English abroad. Earning 1/40th of my previous salary.
    To put it in perspective, it will take me the rest of my natural life to earn what I could earn in a year.
    Madness?

    • @NevisYsbryd
      @NevisYsbryd 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Not necessarily. While resources and financial security certainly have their use and importance, they must be weighed against other things lest one's existence be rendered banal hedonism and nihilism, absent meaning or purpose. A life spent solely in the pursuit of the material is inherently devoid of anything that makes existence worth the inevitable pains of it and purpose (alongside meaning, relationships and a few others) is among, arguably even the, the most transcendent aims of all.
      That said, money can very much be a necessary, nevermind pleasurable, tool towards those aims. It must be considered in relation to what you consider necessary to justify and enliven your life.

I was never able to explain what it was until now.

    Ah Robert Greene, one of the greatest writers of our age.
    His books can easilly be mistaken for your average "BS" self-help books, which is really such a shame. So Im very happy you made a video about one of his most important books, namely Mastery.
    His books are incredibly well researched, his writing style is very readable yet precise and he presents forth the most important and deepest ideas for a human. It is a shame how far we have burried ourselves in meaningless pleasure, shallow ideas and fragile norms. Greene thus sheds needed light on us and doesn't shy away from disregarding the norms and looking at things with a clear vision. His book on power is a good example of this and so is Mastery with its blunt denial of the existance of "genius", which I absolutely adore.

      You cannot rely on passion to drive you forward. Often you start a hobby and feel great passion for it, but it quickly subsides as you face challenges and realise the extent of the path before you. You must continue regardless of these dips and holes in your passion until you attain mastery. Obviously you must find some pleasure in your craft, but do not rely on it; otherwise, you may search forever.

Also I've been getting rid of bad habits like leaving my phone near me when I go to sleep so that it won't become a distraction in the night and in the morning, I've been limiting things like video games, and watching TV shows and anime, and also I started reading more and I just started playing my electric guitar again. I'm about to start my 2nd year in college and I really need to start getting more serious about life and stuff that is important. Also priorities and time management, and communication with friends and family, I also plan to start smiling more and expressing my love for the ones I care for more, because I never know when they'll pass.

    The reason why this is such a common question nowadays is because we were never forced as children to work. Our parent and grandparents have worked, years, even if in just part time when they reached being 18. They had experiences of what they liked and disliked and it made it easier for them to choose a career. I was lost as a 22 year old when I started to work, now I love what I do, (im just 25 btw). If I can give anybody some advice: watch what you like in your job, even if it's small things and watch what you dislike. I started as a customer service agent. I soon realised that being around a lot of people is very draining to me and that I find it hard to manage stress. I really enjoyed the days where I had to do administrational work, alone in my office. I soon realised that I need a job which is much more introverted and monotonous. So I started as a junior accountant and I soon realised that I love it and I was made for it. I already got promoted a few months ago and I actually love working. If I can give advice to any of you who are lost out there: watch what you love and hate about your job, even if it is just a small little thing, it contains the clue to the next step in your career which you are going to enjoy much more (also, never stay at toxic workplaces no matter how much you are made for the job), Good luck!

    The message of this video is very much in line with American and Western ideas ('work hard!', 'don't be satisfied with what you've got!") but I'm not sure it's a healthy approach in this age of burn-out, depression, and general overstimulation.
    Our problem may not be that we do not strive enough, but rather that we strive too much - and peace of mind will continue to elude us.

The daimon is godself and can only be reached when the individual dares to go through the abyss. The human infallicies have to be burnt off until there is only the gold material to work with. This is why this path is like a rollercoaster. The ego part that does not serve the higher centers will be killed. This is excruciatingly painful. Procrastination and hesitation exists when your internal shadow is not convinced of you. The shadow is one of the 9 aspects of the soul known by the ancient egyptians. When we go through the reformationprocess as a child to make us ready for responsible life ( not so responsible at its least on the end) these essential parts are being split off and pushed to the background due to societal demands. Those who wish to know more about this can visit my video " the egyptian concept of the shadow" maybe it is also really helpful to study some of G.I Gurdjieff's material for you for distributing more understandable material on this topic of the deamon. It is a bit too summier to reach a complete understanding of this cobcept. When someone found and connects to his daimon he will not hesitate for then he is guided by the threefold power of substance, energy and purposefulness. Also Sakaki 4 his writings in the book "daimonosophy" are valuable materials you can study. You are touching upon aspects of the left hand path here which are now being slowly revealed to the public, it is just trickling into the human mind and undercurrent of the commonality now, while about a 10 years back many were not ready for this and rejected it, rigorously directing it to the realm of rubbish.

      I agree with you on this one. The daemon concept is totally misunderstood and bastardized due to monotheistic systems and has to be re-introduced to people in a PROPER manner, or it will again be misunderstood and bastardized because people are too shallow to look into the topic better themselves.

      What would you consider to be the so called “abyss”? I heard the concept many times, and abstractly I kind of understand it, but concretely what does it mean?

    • @neophytewraith
      @neophytewraith 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mgdkns6678 Thank you for your question. I consider the abyss as a realm of chaos that would also take place in our personal lives. Sometimes you hit the bottom of things. And life as you planned it or thought of it or envisioned it to be is blown to smithereens. Because it is so unknown it brings out the innate unbearable incompleteness within us. A state sentient being is so prone to deny or ignore willingly or not with/by daily distractions. When the dross of everything we held for true but isn't is burnt off a lot of us end up in a crisis. Mostly an identity crises related thing. You're completely in the darkness, a pit that seems to go down without end. All there is left to do it accept it, often you take out the speed of crushing down with that. This elaboration might help you comprehend it better th-cam.com/video/Cp6LzzovGy4/w-d-xo.html

    What this video is explaining was/is commonplace in Switzerland. I was there in '93 and everything this video is explaining I got from my conversations while there.
    Jobs were pathways to careers and through Apprenticeship programs that catered to creating pathways/relationships that lead to expertise and self reliance. Self reliance in masse is how you determine the fortitude of a community. Teenagers and 20 somethings were all aware of this proven path and using/describing it.
    The path to a sound Community/County/Canton has been developed and tested by the Swiss. Probably be worth considering a look, copying.
    Education = Self Mastery/Governance
    Money = Stable/Predictable
    It works.

    Lately I’ve been reading Albert Camus and I’ve already read the Stranger and I am currently reading the myth of Sisyphus. I plan on reading The Fall, the Plague, and Resistance, Rebellion, and death. Prior to reading Camus, I read the republic by Plato which I found a bit difficult but once reading the chapters on Wikipedia, I understood it most of it. After reading Camus I plan on reading Nietzsche. I’ve watched many TH-cam videos about him (including the ones on this channel :) ) and went on quora and other sites to learn more about him. I understand his idea of the Übermensch and his attitude towards Christianity. I have many books by him, but I don’t know which ones to start with. The books I have are:
    On the genealogy of morals
    Beyond good and evil
    The gay science
    Thus spoke Zarathustra
    Ecce homo
    The antichrist
    Twilight of the idols
    And why i am so wise
    Does anyone have on suggestions out of these books?
    Thus spoke Zarathustra is the one I am most excited to read though I’m not sure if I can understand his nuances and subtleties.
    ( I’m going into 8th grade btw this fall)
    Apologizes if I have any spelling or grammatical errors
    Thanks!

    I don't normally comment on too many videos, but I have to say that this video is excellent! Many people are not usually aware of how important it is to find your true calling and stick with it no matter how hard it gets. All kinds of people were influenced by the daemon. I highly recommend also reading "The Daemon Knows" by Harold Bloom for more information and examples on this fascinating topic.

    I've been doing this thing of listening to what Socrates called daimon, and as stupid as it may sound, things are way better, I don't know how it works, but it does. I used to be driven by nihilistic thoughts very often, and things were always tainted with irregularity and a persue of pleasure, just two months passed, my body and mind are in a much better place now. Everytime I seem to have an everyday situation that might break (for example) my routine (something I try not to do), I ask to myself, "what should I not do?", at the beggining of this excercises I thought I was fooling myself by some strange tirade...but after different questions with the same GOOD results...I can honestly say, this is one of the best things I've done for myself in a while. People, please, try it. It may take a toll on you, but it may be necessary.

    Something I knew early on was that I was different from so many friends. I got the opportunity to work as a scuba diver (construction) in my 20’s then moved into maritime work in Alaska- I highly recommend it my friends! If you like adventure, a challenge, to be paid while you build up your certifications….to experience the power of the open sea, the power of unplugging from the rest of society only to come back with money in your pocket, discipline, and time off (with money!) to travel wherever until the next contract…. I’m nearly 40 now and left that life behind mostly (I do some day charters on the side locally), and damn do miss that. But I replaced my purpose with a wife and kids, so that’s ok, maybe I’ll go back again as an old man! Pitfalls are bad coworkers that you live with, sea sickness, little personal space or privacy, maybe a bad chef or bad weather- but you can always jump to another ship in another place or go home realizing it’s not for you. Just throwing it out there for ya young people looking for something else.
