My heart goes out to Sarah’s family. Every time they see their daughters name on the tv it has such negative feelings. God bless you Sarah. You didn’t deserve this. 💔
She works for the police and couldn't belive it was a cop.. She been living under a rock then. She knows there are rotten apples in the barrel. She's full of it
Where male police officers are concerned I would not trust one near me again after the experience I had. I've read other women's accounts of their experiences and they're right when they say, who will believe us? There's no one in charge who would even listen.
I’m so sorry ❤. And you’re 100% right. I had a friend at uni who was a mature student . Her ex husband was a top CID officer . She told me that he used to beat her regularly . At a police formal dinner , he won an award . He ran her over in his car that evening . She ended up in hospital with a broken leg, pelvis and head injuries . When she was better she went to a police station and filed a report against him. She was told to drop everything and walk out of the police station otherwise she’d end up in a mental institution . Her husband finally left her for a younger woman . However , even though they were divorced , he still used to stalk her. He’d come to the Uni, show his badge and ask about what time she left etc. Luckily the security men were lovely and never gave him any information .. My friend and I used to find different routes to the station and leave uni at different times.
Exactly. It's a sobering thought to realise there is a culture where a large percentage of the population watches true crime. People have become so desensitised that true crime is now a popular genre. I understand there's an element of fascination and horror when it comes to killers and serial killers, but more often than not, the victim becomes lost in the story, and so do their devastated families. True crime is voyeuristic. Why make a documentary about Sarah Everard? What is there to learn other than this terrible act could have been avoided if the police had done their jobs when that sicko started showing red flags.
@@gemmawedgwood9476It would make women aware that just because he’s a police officer it does not mean that you are safe with him . Do not get into his car . The documentary was worth airing .
🙄 🤦 knew what!? Stop repeating nonsense buzz words and making ridiculous accusations. Large organisations are always going to have things happening but this was an outlier.
To clarify. ‘They’ meaning that he was known by some colleagues to have been a danger. And yes, of course they’re not all evil but the system needs more robust checks in addition to a change of culture to prevent this from happening again.
I feel such rage each and every time I see this news again. The terror this poor girl would have felt at the time, it's chilling when I think about it. Couzens is evil in human form and he must never see the outside of a prison cell again.
They still haven't sorted the wider issue out. It's because they have become a rule unto themselves, and don't understand that the Equality Act applies as much to them as anyone else. Thirty years on from MacPherson, the Met's still endemically racist, and you can go through the categories and see that the Met's culture just doesn't get the fact they're not the epitome of humanity. All you have to do is look at how two buskers were treated recently, a gospel pianist Harmonie London on Oxford Street being told she needs Special Permission to play outside a Church (I'd love her to try that when the Welsh are into hymns and arias at Twickenham!), or Brendan Kavanagh in St Pancras - I wonder if they've realised he switches to the Pink Panther whenever they're near? Why was the Cabinet Office protected during the Partygate episode? Or JSO, or the Palestinians, or - the list is long. If the Police Command were shocked, they've not been listening, because they've been in denial far too long. What has actually been done in the three years since? Has anything been done to start creating an independent vetting unit, along the lines of the Parliamentary Standards Committee's Lay Members?

He exposed himself more than once and nothing was ever done, she could still be alive if people had acted earlier.

I'm amazed that they admit to always thinking cops are innocent. This is why they so often get away with crimes.

I'm surprised she can see, with all the blind eyes she's turned.
Every copper is corrupt they either abuse or watch the abuse and do nothing.
She's not a freemason obviously
A woman yes. What rank. Shock ⚡️ horror has she been a working police officer.
SICK of hearing about rotten apples. If there isnt consistent leadership then the culture of an org. is to blame except this isnt just any org. .

It is well known that policemen beat their wives and get away with it. It’s disgusting. I hope your friend is alright.

Problem is we have a corrupt judiciary and police force.
Not unimaginable at all given the systemic misogyny and violence within the police force. They knew.
