Imgine this, cops at work- "what,s his name? , answer, "oh yea, thats "the rapist".
Now imagine criminals (who police deal with) having the same discussion.....
      "thats THE what? (question)
      "he raped who?" (question),
      "wait...he,s a rapist?" (question)
      "what the actual....?" (question)
"You got evidence of THAT? (question likely for a detailed chat to ensue)
Without doubt, the answers to those questions would be "not round my wife/daughter" followed by the knickname,s clumsy removal from the premises, "lessons learnt".
Sara,s family having to learn all filth from the current investigation as we the public have. Seeing David Carrick, Adam Provan and now Cliff Mitchell (recent weeks) since Couzens murdered their daughter?!? May God send them Peace.

@@jessicabates1223 You do know rapists are criminals right? It's wild if you think hardened criminals would have cared about a rapist in their midst. One thing that struck me about Wayne Couzens was that indecent exposure seemed to be a hobby of his, and that it continued through the years when he was committing other kinds of sexual offence. Men usually laugh it off as trivial, even pathetic, but it's clear that for him it was not only a gateway offence (the start of a slippery slope?) but also a way in which he could have been easily caught almost at the last moment.

Clearly no care for "life" in or out of the force.. lengthy court cases proving what they "knew" ?!?. Better to take their pension, their financial future and that of their dependants too. So what if they have paid in for years- the offending officer can pay a lawyer to fight for his pension (not many can afford that). Its a massive deterrent just thinking about it.

I was sexually harassed by a member of the metropolitan police force . I was panicked bc I didn’t know who to report it to .
He continued with phone calls knocking on my door . Even making threats to arrest me .
Eventually I went to a local solicitor’s and told them what was happening . She got in touch with the PCA .
I felt like I was being Interrogated by the first set of detectives who took my statement .
The solicitor kept pushing the issue bc the predator was still hounding me as no action was taken .
They then tap my phone and placed a camera outside my flat .
Two weeks later he was handcuffed right there in my home . They had all the evidence of his conversations and footage of him coming to my house uninvited .
I didn’t tell anyone except the solicitor .
People who knew me read about it after the case was heard .
They asked stupid questions like , how come you never told us , and , you should’ve done this and you could’ve done that .
What they don’t realise is, until you’re in that situation you can’t say what you would do .
One of my then friend brother told me , it takes two, to tango , WTF 😬!
It’s true , women don’t usually report these horrible events bc of fear , intimidation and , embarrassment .
I know if I had gone to my local police station where he was based they would not have taken the matter seriously .

I’m American and I remember when I first heard about this case, it ate away at me for weeks. She had just had a dinner gathering with friends and was walking home and in an instant, everything changed. And not only changed, but for her, it ended. It really hurt me to know that she was handcuffed. I mean he took away her ability to even attempt to defend herself. I can’t help but wonder about the car ride and when she realized she was in danger. Did he tell her? Did he lie to her at first to keep her calm? Did he taunt her for the sick pleasure of inflicting emotional pain? I know it really doesn’t matter or change anything, but these are the questions I have as a stranger, so I can’t even imagine the questions her family and friends ask themselves or all the things they wished they’d done differently, even though nothing they did even remotely caused this. Her boyfriend probably wishes he’d stayed on the call with her longer. Her friends probably wish they could’ve convinced her to have one more glass of wine. I read the victim impact statements and how the sister said it was a relief knowing soot wasn’t found in her lungs, so at least she knows Sarah wasn’t burned while still alive. I remember she wrote about how tragic it is that that’s even a thought she has to consider.
Wayne is not only sick and pathetic but he’s a complete idiot. He’s a cop and somehow managed to carry out the most conspicuous murder plot of all time. I read that he traveled over and over to study London and plan the crime, but everything he did left clues. That’s the only saving grace, so at least it was solved quickly. It was amazing watching him squirm while being interviewed. He claims he was concerned about harm coming to his family while he was telling his lies but he sure didn’t mind taking Sarah from hers. I noticed he mirrored the language of the officer. The officer questioning him said he thought Wayne had something to do with taking Sarah away from her loved ones and he later used that same verbiage when he lied about the gang threatening to take his family away from him. Sarah was such an incredible person too, based on everything I’ve read about her. They never take the horrible people of the world, it’s only ever the great ones. I hope her family can find peace, but I know it’s going to be very difficult for them for a long time. One of their members was stolen and extinguished in the worst way possible. And the piece of shit that did this to her bought an effing pastry the morning after. I hope his time in prison is torturous.
Edit: I know she said Couzens and officers like him manipulate their image at work to avoid drawing attention to themselves, but I’d argue that Couzens did a pretty crappy job at that, considering his coworkers referred to him as, The Rapist. Unless he was really hiding so much more that calling him, The Rapist, was only the tip of the iceberg. Horrifying. If he isn’t having the same treatment done to him in prison, that’s a crime in itself. I’m sorry but I think sex offenders should know how their crimes feel.

I was thinking of this case the past two weeks. I didn’t expect it to be back in the news to be honest.
The main reason I was thinking about this because I was watching true crime documentaries of criminal cases taken place in various countries and almost always if the case was about rape or sexual assault, the police force in those countries took it so leniently .
I’m glad there are changes being taken right now and now there is action being taken in the UK to tackle these issues in our police force and are taking actions to protecting the women of our country.

First the (woman) news anchor says, "Let's go to our correspondent Simon Harrison who...I mean, Sam Harrison --- who has the details of the report..."
First, she gets his name wrong. Then, at around 2:45, she cuts him off because the press conference is about to start. Having been slapped in the face -- on air -- Sam is rocking back and forth on the heels of his "tasseled loafers" so favored by both Wall Street lawyers and the Media Elite --- as President George H.W. Bush so aptly phrased it in his speech at the '92 Republican convention, as you all remember, of course.
    Pardon, a little...errrrr.....
But seriously: In terms of a BBC sham report, we can say that "Sam's been obviously shammed."
Or as Sam the Sham sang in 1965, "Monkey See, Monkey Do." Quite so, as we note that -- for at least a moment there -- it looks like Sam H. is thinking: "If only I could kill the (anchor) woman, life would be so beautiful. So...very beautiful. Later, i could call the vet regarding my dog, and get a hot chocolate at the local convenience store down the road...."
Yes, an ironic twist, indeed, in the reporting of the Sarah Everard story. As Homer Simpson would say: "Doh...!"
    end
