Wish I would've watched this before yesterday! Had one hung up and barking, we thought it meant that he had busted us and we were done. So, we turned around and headed out! Didn't realize we just needed to push it even more!
Durk you are a great bugler cow calls are pretty much the same but bugles can range from a locater bugle to the challenge bugle and the growling all kinds of different bugles you have taught me lots about bugles I have elk hunted with my bow for about 40 years now just have not got my dream bull 380 plus here in Eastern Oregon have had a couple chances but missed messed it all up couldn't hold my bow steady 😉 👍 anyway thanks guys you all rock the elk woods and callings skills Cody is one of my favorite and durk you all have my vote thanks guys
Can wait for you to get LFG on a bull this year. Someone's first, after struggling all last year would be so satisfying for you guys, LFG, and fans that follow both of you.
Thanks for sharing these tactics and helpful tips to try in the field. My buddy and I are planning our first elk hunt this fall and can't wait to get out this fall.
I’m not sure about anyone else but they’re calling has been the most spot on realistic calling I have ever heard from any human on tv, if you close your eyes you would swear it’s a clip of an actual bull bugling
I've always been a locate bugle then go in quiet. I'm working on getting a better arsenal of calls. Finally took the leap on diaphram calls. Tried them in the past, quality definitely matters.
Just found you guys recently and really appreciate all the hard work you guys put into this and the information that you’re giving out. Being from MS I’ve wanted to hunt elk my entire life but never had the knowledge of how to even get started. I went back to school late in life to get my doctorate and told my wife that I was going to wait til after I graduated to go on an elk hunt. I graduated in December and I’m already planning, practicing, and training for next year and I’m learning from you guys along the way! I’m honestly beyond excited whether I come home with an elk or not, but I am truly thankful for what you guys are doing!
Congrats Scott on your graduation. Did you get chance to go Elk hunting yet? I had cancel this year hunt archery Elk in Colorado (wife stroke). Plan in 2023 Colorado have taken 2 5x5 in past. If you able and want to join...message me Norm retire USMC-guns
Great video, guys. Very helpful for the 2022 trip to Colorado I'm planning! I can't wait for Land of the Free 3.0, love your content! Man, I'd love to just tag along on a hunt to gain some experience. I've got plenty of frequent flyer miles so let me know and I can just cary gear or whatever, at 6'8" and 260 I can pack a lot of gear!
(I'm from West Virginia) Walked in to the bow shop yesterday to get my bow tuned up and my pro shop guy had a born and raised shirt on, crazy how much of an impact you guys have on my area, guess i need to get with the program and get a shirt as well!
I went to Lone Pine Ranch this week and saw tons of sign but saw no Elk. The person I went with wasn't very experienced and didn't use camo, wind puff, or scent killer. We walked around the steep terrain looking for crap. We found fresh crap, but there was no Elk to see. I am disappointed after hiking that far and seeing nothing. I really want to go out with you guys just once to see how it's done. I watched a lot of your videos and we were doing it completely wrong. You guys seem real down to earth and fun to be around.
Love you guys. Great tips and tactics. Will definitely be adding these tips when I'm out in the woods. Good luck and cant wait to see your guys 2020 season.
Man that shot on the elk that was head on was a really risky shot. Hopefully you nailed it and it went down quickly. That’s a lot of heavy bone and muscle to get through.
I'm heading to the Missouri breaks on Friday for a week any suggestions I watched about every episode love it I learned so much from you guys but the breaks are different need help
I notice you guys sometimes aggressively move in when the bull is under 100 yards, I haven’t done that for fear of getting busted and have had many elk walk away. Learned something new
I can easily see that the 2 of you really look up to this guy. Im a wyoming Outfitter and It's obvious that this guy is a true pro.

I travel from Florida to do it. It’s definitely achievable and these guys are awesome hunting role models.
So awesome to hear your story. Best of luck and let us know how we can help you bridge the gap on your first elk hunt! Congrats on your graduation.

Good info. Was in Colorado last year for the first time and ran into some scenarios I didn’t know what to do. So I shot a cow bc I’m a opportunist.

When do the game bags become available?
Fingers crossed next week. 🤞🏻😬
Born and Raised Outdoors can you put up a coming soon page describing them, specs, and price?
@3:44 into the video it does a replay of the previous few minutes. great video and content!! curious if the replay of content was intentional
No we missed it in the editing. Our bad. Thanks for catching it. Will have to keep an eye out on the next one.
I thought I had dozed off and hit rewind or something! :)
I think I watched this weeks ago?
Yep, I did too
Down to hours now!!
Love it
When do bulls start talking? Or when do you go out and see if they will respond?
Had some screaming last night in Colorado.
Nice, I had one response this weekend up in Washington state but he clammed up after one bugle.
I notice you guys sometimes aggressively move in when the bull is under 100 yards, I haven’t done that for fear of getting busted and have had many elk walk away. Learned something new
The Rambush works 10% of the time every time. 😬
Dirk I googled weippe whizbang..... stuff about you came up🤣
Remember Cory leckron
You guys rock! What happened to your Instagram?
Not sure. Had several messages asking where our page went. We are still on it daily.
I'm a little bit confused by your tactics- Cal Naughton Jr.
The Slingshot. 😜
What is the song and artist for the intro please
Graffiti ghosts, this is what I live for
Can you do a video of skinning bull out for taxidermy after the kill.
We’d have to kill one big enough to mount. 🤣
@@bornandraisedoutdoors lol no I mean to get out of mountain sorry cape head out gutting
Am I the only one who watches their videos before a hunt 😅
What happened at 3:48? Y’all repeated all that on purpose?
Glunking????
It’s when a bull bounces his diaphragm and makes a “glunking” sound. Typically when he of pushed his cows around to assert his dominance.
30 minutes of my life that ill never get back. lousy
