    That is the best elk calling video for information and educational purposes that I have ever heard. Thank you so very much for sharing and I will swiftly download the app

    I can think of a dozen or so times in my first two elk hunts where we were too aggressive after hearing a far away or lazy bugle when we should have slow played it. We would run up and challenge him, only to have the bull move off without another response, or a response from further away. We'd just move along looking for the next one, chalking it up to him not being interested and talking about how the rut must not be in full swing yet. Going on my third hunt in a couple weeks and will keep this tactic in my back pocket when I hear a less-than-eager bugle instead of blowing them out of the drainage with aggressive challenges. I also downloaded the app and it's badass!

    I just want to say thank you for this information and technique. I tried this yesterday and it worked perfectly. Took exactly 18in lol I timed it. Bull came in and got a backpack ride home.

    Can't argue with that kind of success and even though the app was actually twice as much as you said in the video I bought it because it's worth it.

      The Hungry Hunter thanks for giving the app a go. We increased the amount of content substantially since it was initially launched, which is why the price has gone up since then. We hope you enjoy it!

    Just got home from public land archery hunt in Eastern Oregon. I am definitely a novice Elk Bugler, I sure wished I would have come across this video in August. I know I was blowing Elk out that we saw. I was going way too aggressive too early. Thanks for the great tips and also owner of the App now. I Will work on multiple aspects until 2021.

      I hear ya bud! This kind of stuff takes a couple years to actually utilize in the field. I love it. I've listened to his lectures pry 3x and am still replaying them and applying them to bulls I've dealt with. It will lead to a dead elk 100%, keep at it and congrats when you get that elk down!

    There is sooooo many similarities in tactics with calling elk as calling turkeys as in what you are trying to convey and the temperament of the animal you are trying to kill

    When a lone bull is coming into cow calls only....I have heard them give almost a horse type "whinnie", and the times I have heard it the bull comes running in. It's very musical and short....I have not seen it with large bulls but with respectable 5x & 6x bulls.....is this a version of the round up call? Paul you are awesome. Hope to track you down at a show this winter and ask you about this.
    Thanks for all you do!

    I have had the app now for one year. I have gotten down the contact buzz and almost the lip bawl. I Just bought the Phelps bugle because Paul doesn't have any in stock. I can't do the lip bawl with it so I am using an old Abe & Son bugle with a wide mouth. I'm getting better at it. I am an archery cow hunter with just 3 bulls under my belt and 19 cow. I really want to call a cow in and harvest it then go play with the bulls. I take off 2 weeks of every year for the archery elk season,. I've heard every sound Paul has made and a few weird ones that you wouldn't think was an elk. I can't wait until I get another bull tag which is hard to do because I get cow tags and that uses up all my bonus points every year. I would rather cow hunt than not hunt at all. I never bugle while hunting hardly at all. and only a few cow calls. This app is a real game changer for me an experienced elk hunter. I know elk well. where they will be and when they will be there. I watched a 350 bull with about 40 cows for about 30 mins. not knowing what to do. satellite bulls were with cows and I didn't under stand why the bull didn't fight them until the app. He was going back and forth sniffing cows not even paying attention to the satellite bulls. I would love to have slow played him just for the fun of it. of course I had a cow tag. Enough said. Paul helped me get the right diaphragm for what I want to do. Thank you so much Paul

    Hey Paul you have a great app! Just wondering what kind of sequence you would suggest for bringing in a bull during the late season? I haven't found exactly that in the app. I'm up in northern Alberta. Thanks!

    • @camerannC
      @camerannC 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I call them in with a lost cow sequence. Slow maybe one of two calls every 15 minutes. They come in silent and slow but usually come straight in.

    Any advice on calling elk at a small lake? Anyone?

    • @FLATLANDERHUNT
      @FLATLANDERHUNT 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don’t just hunt the lake cover ground and call to locate the elk. If you sit the lake you are limiting your chances.

    Way more educational than trying to watch those selfie video taking blow hards at born and raised outdoors. I can't go 7 seconds without getting super annoyed at their shenanigans. Paul's the real deal. Looking forward to learning!
