I'm heading into 2025 and I have been sliding backward on my WFPB journey. I recently watched an interview with Gillian Berry and Brian Clement, at the Hippocraties health center. I marveled at their abundant use of sprouts, both in variety as well as volume. I will be needing to reorder fresh seeds but this next few weeks, sprouts are going to be my new frontier of plant based exploration and eating. Thanks for this interview, it was very informative 👍
RIP start sprouting!!! Great health benefits and an easy way to to get fresh veg in your system. I put sprouts on almost everything I eat...Tnx for the great vid
It's wild how ONLY A HANDFUL of us lucky people (out of the total population) somehow gained the awareness AND felt a compulsion to make the commitment to a fully plant-based diet along with certain necessary supplements. I feel so fortunate that my wife and I somehow discovered WFPB eating about 12 years ago. What a complete change in our lives and a tremendous improvement in the QUALITY of our lives! I wish we could get everyone else in the world on board! I got into sprouting for about a year and slowly drifted away from it. But after watching this video, I am going to get back into sprouting!
I looooove persimmons :) hearing him describe them makes me miss them so much! And I've been thinking of starting to sprout for quite a while - and I think it's finally time, I moved recently, and it seems like the perfect opportunity to do it ^^ thank you for sharing, what a wonderful conversation :)
back in the 70's I use to grow sprouts when I lived on my sailboat. It was fun to have fresh sprouts when I went sailing & anchored out. I got out of sprouting but still have some jars. Going to start again. Thanks for the inspiration. I sure miss persimmons. Love them.
This was an amazing interview! I am going to start sprouting again too. I grew sprouts back in the 70s and 80s, but never routinely. I'm getting Doug's book and some seeds, and going to grow more sprouts! Thanks Rip!
Oh my gosh! I listen to the first minute or two and I thought here’s some wacky hippie dude living in a yurt and I rolled my eyes a little bit. But man he’s a cool guy! I learned a ton and although I tried sprouting a couple years ago I had no idea how much nutrition you can get in those so this was fantastic. Once again don’t judge a book by its cover. Thanks for having him on!
Just wanted to tell you how awesome I think you are! We have the Engine 2 Cookbook, I enrolled in Rouxbe Plant base pro course after your interview with Ken Ruben. We have a NutraMilk machine ( my hubby loves the almond milk we make) after attending your kitchen rescue, and just ordered Doug Evans book and some sprouting lids. Also my pantry has a stack of plantstrong pizza crust and sauce. We have spent a lot of money because of you and we couldn’t me more happy about it after seeing and feeling the amazing things happening to our bodies because of it. Keep up the great work.
Awesome conversation. I have been growing jar sprouts and micro greens for 15+ years. They are a staple in my plant strong lifestyle. Thank you for sharing. 🇨🇦❤️
Rip thanks so much for having this subject sprouts on your show. I do sprout. Dave told me so much that has not been found in a lot of print so far. Thanks again. I love your direction your going with your podcast.
Loved this! I have several screens for mason jars already to get going on this. Thank you for motivating me to do this again. I was an avid sprouter back in the 80's and 90's.
I just checked their site, they have many different kit combinations. Do you have any suggestions in terms of which present the best value (especially cost)?
we love this. thank you, Doug! sprouted years ago as kids, but mainly alfalfa and wheat grass. now doing many more thanks to your reminder to everyone. also just fyi to all... was reading that an average daily serving of broccoli (sprouts) should be at least 3oz. to be beneficial as shown in tests. Has anyone heard different? Thank you. Good health blessings to you all.
Rip, wish your dad would look into the benefits of sprouts and microgreens and do they trump the greens he suggests for healthy endothelial function. Really hard to find info on this as a general lay person.
Isn’t this guy is the founder of Juicero, which was basically the Theranos of another time? Probably a lot of people were relieved to hear that he went out to live in the desert…
I sprouted my first seed, and that is the easiest too sprout QUINOA,seed. I need to sprout my ORGANIC MILLET I bought a 25 pound off amazon. I am still learning about sprouting benefits.
FROM what I been learning, the four main lectin free seeds are glutin free but if you eat more than half cup cooked porrage a day you can damage the thyroid, in some people, I can't think of the cemicle that are in some seeds that can hurt the thyroid. or cause hyper thyroid,
I’ve been sprouting multiple seeds for over few years. I was unsuccessful with sprouting arugula in jars as well as mustard seeds. No info on TH-cam on how to sprout arugula. Many tried but like me were not successful sprouting it in jars. Any advice, please? Thank you for your dedication to sprouting!!! 🙏👍🌱🌱🌱🌱
I love yurts! And, more and more, I want to live in nature nowhere near people. I’ve recently gotten addicted to growing broccoli sprouts for the sulforaphane they contain that repairs neurological damage.
What’s going Rip and The Engine 2 team just wonder if you guys knew the nitrate and relation to nitric oxide when eating sprouts. Do you get what you need from the sprouts or have to eat the green leafies themself?
Hmm. The sprout method is missing the simpler and more nutritious way to do it. Eat the source of the sprout when it is germinated. That is the best whole raw food. Don't just eat the sprout bit - eat what is sprouted. Mung beans are probably best for this - specifically the small mung beans ( there are a few typess they look similar) and brown chickpeas. Those sprout seed packs are such a ripoff. You can literally sprout the big bags of beans at the store... costs 5 or 10 times less than the sprouting seed packs... For an idea - you can eat regular chickpeas which have been soaked for just 16 hours in water. That is soo cheap, so full of protein and so full of fiber while being low fat. An amazing combo AND it is RAW. Raw is important pat of our diet. Potential 'biophoton' pathways have been found which we get from raw foods. I didn't believe it till I saw it on pubmed... We should be eating germinated foods not just the sprout. i realize I am criticizing a fairly popular author here but... hey. Never know who is watching your youtube videos. Incorporate eating the whole germinated legume or seed in the next book ;)

Wow great episode. A lot to learn. Thank you!!!!
Very enthusiastic guest. So nice to hear him talk about sprouting
I bought Doug’s book, it’s really good. I’m on my 3 week of sprouting. It’s been fun. I just ate a sprout salad with an oil free salad dressing.

I have his book. Thanks for reminding me to finish reading it. Haha. I’ve already got broccoli sprouts going on my counter from 3 days ago. 🌱🥦🙌🏻
Thanks. This was an exceptional interview.
This has really motivated me to get into sprouts. Very interesting guest, he has great energy.
Glad it was helpful!
🌱❤️🌱 Loved this!! Encouraged me to soak some French lentils I had here, then will sprout them. Never done the lentils! THANKS TO YOU BOTH!! 🕊
So good. You have to have him on again when you can visit him. 🌟🌟🌟

Great interview! I bought
4 copies of this book last year. Loved his story, love his vision for the future. He walks his talk!
Great interview 🌱
Great informative and fun interview. 😊
The most interesting interview ever 😀I have Fenugreek seeds in my kitchen. Got them ready for sprouting right away😀Thank you👍
Our pleasure!

This is such amazing learning. I use Sproutman for sprouts and it has been so easy to grow and tasty.
I just checked their site, they have many different kit combinations. Do you have any suggestions in terms of which present the best value (especially cost)?
You have to have this guy more often so people can learn about sprouts. So interesting.

Awesome!!
Loved this.
This man looks exactly like Paul Saladino 🤣🤣🤣

Been sprouting off and on for about 50 years. Now I grow them mainly from April - October when it's just too hot to grow outside in SW FL
What are your favorite varieties?
How do you keep them from molding in hot weather?
...reminds me.....need to go rinse my Sprouts
Glass trays are better than jars. Less chance of mold developing because of better air circulation. 🙂🌱
Danke

Doug kind of looks like "Mic the Vegan" or maybe the other way around lol
What’s going Rip and The Engine 2 team just wonder if you guys knew the nitrate and relation to nitric oxide when eating sprouts. Do you get what you need from the sprouts or have to eat the green leafies themself?
I just need to know which brand of broccoli seeds to buy. 😐
I love sprouts but the broccoli sprouts leave a burning sensation on my tongue. Is this common?
Sounds like an allergy, would stick to alfalfa or other varieties to see if better..
Broccoli is in the mustard family. This is normal.
@@agnidas5816 thanks!
I love the little burn from broccoli sprouts too
i just droped my first organic lentils to garbage.. they were not bad.. but not good either😢 now trying with chickpeas
Rip you must must come back in his lab to show us. I have been sprouting a few years I want to see the soy sprouts I have not this.

I became sos vegan overnight after coronary artery diagnosis
Isn't this with the juicer machine scam
The very same. He also wants us to drink parasites from untreated water sources.
He believes in "life force" and nonsense like "chi energy".
