    OCL which is basically CUDA with the Nvidea branding not tackedon which is on a variety of platforms including ARM devices, AMD graphics cards, Nvidea graphics cards, Intel integrated graphics and more has similar capabilities and is available on the new consoles.

    So did the Titan fix all the shit that was wrong with the 600 series?

  • @xSingulari7yx
    @xSingulari7yx 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was hoping that nvidia gpu's would be in the next consoles so that cuda is standard and would be used in games.But i don't think we will see that for a while.

    Off the cuff as well, these videos today are getting me excited. Good to see "gaming card" technologies find their way into medical equipment.

    I don't understand it. Intel HD 4000 has bigger performance and is cheaper, than most of nVidia GPUs from the same time. Intel also has much better OpenCL drivers, so it is more suitable for GPU computing. nVidia, what are you doing?

    Who says colaboration is negative? Nvidia don't compete with amd on cpu's anyways.
    They are probably proud of creating the largest tools in the world to shape our future, i would be too, even if i collaborated with a competitor.

    you're*
    Time to give reasons, I guess.
    "Maybe not the titan, I could see that being used more for high end work shit"
    No, these cards won't do the the job for professional applications. A professional card such as a Quadro won't even play games that well. A GTX 680 will do pro-work decently because of CUDA. That's why AMD cards are just as good for games at a lower price, they just lack something like CUDA which makes them not a real option for professional-ish work.

    gpu computing on the rise, that's why Nvidia intentionally crippled computing capabilities of their flagship GTX 600 series in order to sell more Quadro cards... shame on them.

    Titan (supercomputer)
    18,688 AMD Opteron 6274 16-core CPUs
    18,688 Nvidia Tesla K20X GPUs
    I find some irony in Nvidia bragging about a supercomputer powered by AMD cpu's XD

    Nvidia pls stop be that egocentric and let cuda be an open standard (or convert to streampossessors). That would boost the software development allot more.
