Ooo, Charles Ross could be your payoff for a big money Seeker deck (using Myconid & Higher Ed for exponential growth). Pair with an item heavy Bob deck to fit out the whole team with goodies. Probably not especially strong, but gives him some purpose
I agree on most things you say in this video. But I want to mention, that Bestow Resolve makes "Not without a fight!" much better. Having at least 1 enemy in your threat area makes you commit 6 wilds to any investigator close enough for one charge. 9 wilds when you have 2 enemys. The desperate skills got also better with Hank since he is close to the threshold without risk before transforming. Last but not least Stealth(0) got Exploit Weakness in Scarlet Keys (anatomical diagram too). I can see them slowly finding homes in a few decks.
Does Time Warp have errata? If not, the way it's written, Time Warp would return to your hand and you would get back the resource you spent to play it. Allowing you play it for any and every action whose result you didn't like, as long you had the single resource to play it. I am sure that is not how the card is meant to function.
Time Warp can be decent tech for Twisted Woods (FHV night 1). Helpful to save actions in a desperate search for correct locations then you can bounce them out by scenario 3.
I think that Recharge is trending up slightly due to token selection effects. I just played it in Jacqueline and with her ability and/or Olive Mcbride (2) you're not in much danger of losing the asset. The Spell trait and icons are still super relevant (since you can draw this for free with Arcane Initiate it's effectively Guts), and the action cost is fine since I'm using it with Rite of Seeking so I can get 3 clues on the next action.
I was surprised how tough of an review this one got, knowing that Path to Carcosa used to be one of the "you have to buy as an player card expansion" expansios. As newcommer to the game, what would be all the Arkham veteran's opinnions on Path to Carcosas investigator expansion? I do have Dunwich Legacy investigator expansion and all the starter decks. Been eyeing on Edge of the Earth's investigator expansion, which I have heard a lot o good about. I'm tempted by trying Lola Hayes, who I know is genrally concidered being trash but who might get on her feet with Edge of the Earth invetigator expansion. So if I could borrow a lesson from all the veterans, is this investigator expansion still a worthy purchase for a newbie, or should I just ditch Lola as a concept and invest the little money I have on other investigator expansions?
I think Edge of the Earth is a better buy at this point simply because the multiclass cards will fit into all of the investigators you already have. And they are great cards!
@@Quick_Learner Thank you for your advice😊 I've noticed that I have fallen into that middle ground of getting into Arkham Horror. On one hand this is the peak time to get invested since I don't need to worry about cycles, but at the same time the cardpool has gotten so varied that it's easy to get lost on what to buy (except of course new campaign expansions).
@@Quick_Learner That very well may end up happening. I already notice myself slipping into the "never enough" mentality, which is the reason I try to be smart with my budget on these early steps of my journey. That's why youtube channels like this and PlayingBoardGames are important to me. There are a decent number of investigator expansion un-boxins, but not that many sources of actual reviews. Let alone videos that offer in conclusion oppinions on the expansion as a whole, let alone in an updated "comparing to todays overall cardpool" sort of way. You and derbk are the only sources I know, that have chose to tackle this question. I do hope that you continue your revisiting series. I understand that long analyze videos like this are exhausting to make and I don't wish to but any pressure on your shoulders, but do know that at least to new players like me these are a valuable tool.
@@Quick_Learner i am playing some fan made campaigns lately and i think they are too easy. i don't think they are so challenging such as the official boxes. i played dark matter, jumanji, bloodborne and some other standalone. you could try this experience and let me know :)
Fair, but I really don't like spending ammo for this sort of thing. I know you can lean into Contraband or whatever to get a crazy amount of ammo on cards, but I usually think the ammo cost is too great.
I hope you will do that for the starter decks too!
Yeah yeah, all the cards.

Excellent look back review, looking forward to the next cycles.
Ambush in TSK is very nice !
Plus, we got Survival Technique in Hemlock.
Clever idea with it!

I want to add: the desperate skills also are incredible with bestow resolve (especially in tanky Carson)

I feel like all rogue weapons have become lackluster with the introduction of british bulldog
I think I like the Mauser better because of the 5 ammo, but the Bulldog is certainly a lot better than the .41 Derringer at level 0.

So you say that you'll just buy one thing now, but the reality is that in two months you'll have a complete collection ;)

I really appreciate it!!
I would like to see a video where you compare official campaigns and fan made campaigns and say your opinion in terms of story and balance
Good idea; I haven't played enough fan-made campaigns yet to do it but something for the future!

I would say with the few I've tried, I agree. I usually play them on Hard to make them comparable to Standard on the official ones.
You forgot Duke! He was the main inspired boi
Eat Lead has to be "Trending Up" thanks to Winchester and Bless/Curse shenanigans. Shame the Katana can't Eat Lead (melee equivalent incoming?)

Maybe with Cleaning Kit, too, though.... okay, I can see it.
