- Fear is the necromancer's trademark condition and with the introduction of swords, fear and chill combines with the reaper's traitline to allow you to kite easily from range.
OFFENSE:
Fear(gains quickness) then damage skills
Fear skills are shroud3, sword5, staff 5, spectral ring and elite if you use nightmare relic.
Damage skills are reaper2,4, staff4,3, sword autos & skills.
staff 3 then 4 gives aoe weakness
sword auto gives perma chill capped at 10s
outputs easy 25 vulnerability and might stacks
DEFENSE:
Kiting and shooting from range is the playstyle
Reaper shroud is the first button to press when in trouble also skill3 x2.
your utilities can be changed to go defensive.
stun breaks on utilities.
condi clears on staff4, heal and spectral walk.

Been under a rock for a while. Did not know about this until I was doing an event on my Weaver and saw a Dual sword Necro. Thanks to Beta for Spear I tested it on some Dungeons. AMAZING!!! I felt like the mobs that overpowered my Weaver were afraid of the damage coming from the Dual Sword abilities. You can FEEL the impact.

Really fun build to roam around with small groups. Love how fast it seems compared to most necro builds.
Gonna have to try this build as well. I’ve struggled to enjoy my necro over the years. It’s probably my least played class. But this looks fun! I’ll have to give it a run, thanks yet again!

Finally someone utilizing the most powerful damage dealing condition in the game.
I would have gone with superior “rune of nightmare” and vipers gear to take full advantage of fear.

Very nice job showing the World why they should fear the Reaper (again). I would go for Soul Reaping instead of Spite due to the Marks becoming unblockable and the extra 15% crit chance (permanent) and damage (in Shroud), which on itself will cause extra Bleeding.

was last night that fight at hills? That was excellent, I got 80ish kills in that defence, they kept coming back

Does the projectile of the sword change if you are using a legendary sword?
yes it becomes the usual legendary projectile like bolt or shining blade. the default animation is much better.

why am i not able to equip swords yet? the icons are in my char menu but the weapons say "not for this profession". like what am i missing?

I used it too for my fear builds, but I still need to get used to it...I have yet to try it only in the off-hand tho
Would a power version of this work?
actually when i was making this build, it was more general. cele & condi is usually better at 1v1 while power is better at xvx. If i were to go power in x v x, the chill and fear just become pure cc, then you fear and quickness spam sword autos. you will hit something like 2k,2k,3k. your traits should be changed to strike damage options too.

@@miss_o_kiwii it's a general statement about power being better in xvx because you want to kill fast. condi takes too long. if i were to run a power version of this build, i would do something like this. i just stay at range and fear spam sword autos and staff marks in a cloud.

Reaper has been my class since I started 3 months ago and I love it in all content. Wvw though is mixed bag I feel like reaper struggles with numerous enemy or nearby zerg so I'm trying to find ways to mix z blend of other things into my wvw builds I can not only slow down the enemy but help my team
yea necro is generally not good for solo roaming because you will end up in 1vX s and get ganked easily. not too bad in a zerg though.
