    Im supporter of Bordeaux... Please help us we are so tired... We are a football city with a great infrastructure, and a beautiful stadium, we have an excellent training center, with young people emerging like Aurélien Tchouaméni and Jules Koundé. We are a legendary club that has fallen very low...

      As a Liverpool fan for whom Bordeaux have long been my favourite French club, I am somewhat optimistic about this, but I do hope that the Girondins don't turn into just a feeder club for Liverpool, because they deserve more than that with their illustrious history.

However, looking at FSG's investment approach, they seem focused on performance rather than merely spending money. They invest to challenge themselves. The issue is not whether or not you like this model. The issue is if you don’t do it, and do it well, you will fall behind the Groups that do it. So, FSG have to succeed in this or we will fall even further behind - we are already outgunned in every bidding war by the Madrid, Paris, Manchester and London clubs.
    The benefits of this model are being able to use the smaller clubs in the Group to develop Academy talent that is not quite ready for the Prem, being able to avoid British labour restrictions on recruiting young talent worldwide, and move to Liverpool when they have enough ‘points’, and shared costs eg part-time/specialist coaches can be shared, and many other shared benefits.

      Based on the rules there are no benefits to be had from football groups. Just look at the Todibo deal being blocked (even though it would have represented a fair market value)

      @Rustylad12 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@nglforbes Yeah Liverpool are 3rd among 6 big teams behind United who commercially out rank us by around 80m per year so I don't know why you're whinging about facts and research. Spurs makes up the deficit by low wages and higher matchday income from a new stadium. Likewise Arsenal spent more but they structured the deals better by add ons and longer amortization giving them more wiggle room in PSR. Chelsea makes it up by pure profit from academy sales although it is unsustainable and what they are doing is an anomaly. We're middle of the pack in all facets and we just added another 70m in debt from anfield renovation. The point is that you can blame FSG for poorly structuring the deals and how they operate on transfers and I do criticize them for that. But what you are implying is that they are funneling away the funds from Liverpool to buy Bologna which is a ludicrous argument. Football economics doesn't work like that. Those are completely different investments and has no impact on each other's spending capacity. FYI, I'm currently majoring in finance and my Thesis is on permittable cost cap in modern Premier league so yes, I did do my research on this topic. Yes we don't have the greatest owners but nowhere close to levels of Glazers who syphoned 1B in dividends over 10 years from Man Utd or some of the other clubs going into administration. Every fanbase apart from City Newcastle Brighton and Palace rants about their owners.

    I wonder if we will ever get to a point where multi-club ownership is creating harmful monopolies. I hope this trend does not continue as it threatens the integrity of the sport.
    Multi-club ownership can be hugely detrimental to the club being bought, where for example Troyes bought Savio for 6,5 m who got loaned to PSV in his first season. In the following season he got loaned to Girona (same owner as City and Troyes) and now rumours have started that he may join City.
    Since being acquired Troyes have been relegated from both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2… I’m sure this outcome was not what the Troyes fans expected when they were first acquired.
    Tldr: Troyes was bought by the same owners of City and have two relegations to show for it.

      Liverpool & FSG can be different as compared to city group. FSG will mostly try to make BDX as a self sustaining club just like how Liverpool has operated. Getting good players under less money & sell them at higher value which Liverpool used to do very early. Bdx only need money help. FSG may be take help of bdx for keeping eye on talents but it will not be a feeder club for Liverpool. They will definitely respect the history and bring sucess.

      And Girona got champions league as part of City Group. It depends on your role within the group. Troyes is the rule evasion team + some French local development it seems. Because Savio is technically owned by Troyes, City can now move him from Girona to them. Despite Girona and City being in the same competition. So Troyes most likely will not get European football by design despite "owning" some great talents.

    Fsg will work wonders for them. Being a Liverpool fan my only problem with fsg is that they dont splash the cash for top players enough, but thats pretty trivial in comparison to the benefits.
    They will build a solid foundation which includes training grounds and facilities and would buy the stadium from the council. On top of that Edwards is one of the best in world football for discovering talent.
    Yes, you can almost guarantee that Bordeaux would turn into a feeder club aswell as some youth players from Liverpool being loaned out there. However if people think that would effect Bordeaux negatively couldn't be far more wrong, as the Liverpool players would either be an upgrade to the starting lineup, or add quality in depth.
    Most importantly Bordeaux will be self sufficient and operate within its means. It wont take them long to get premoted and hold their own in the top devision with minimal debt.
    Arguably the best owners to turn their fortunes around without pumping ffp breaking amounts of money into the club.

    These multi club systems are just ways of getting loopholes around PSR, by investing in a different club to then eventually sell on for a bit cheaper than normal. It also is used so the smaller club takes on all the risk and if it fails it doesn’t impact the bigger clubs pockets, whilst the players don’t even get to play for the smaller club most of the time and are run into the ground
