    I'm really looking forward to hear your thoughts on the yoshi + intake + ecu vs all stock. Mostly if the top speed increases. The older groms didn't go much faster unless one changed the gears if I understood correctly but our new 2022 should theoretically move faster since it doesn't redline in 5th gear stock.

    Just got a chimera short ram black edition for my grom from steady garage. Its a 2019 though. Waiting on my Toce exhaust and ill go down the street for an ECU flash from a DHM dealer after they're installed. Can't wait. SHould be fun.

    Just wondering if you ever thought about doing a 190cc or 212 v4 fuel injection ct70 with a racer ecu you could use some of the grom part to make the fuel injection harness to cross over. Just a idea 💡🤔👍👌✌️🏍️💯🥂

    Ive had my 22 Grom for about a month. I have the yoshi full exhaust but I was wondering if its enough extra hp to justify spending the $$$ to mod the bike. Btw I love and appreciate the videos you helped me with the tst tail light install.

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks! Modding a Grom is really for the fun of it. You can obviously just buy a faster bike for way less than it would cost to make bigger power out of a 125cc, but for me there's something special about making these things go fast :)

    • @btankful
      @btankful 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eastcoastish It's funny you have those 2 performance mods, the Exhaust and Intake. After moding parts and then buying slightly better mods on same parts and spending that much more, I would recommend exactly the two you have for first mods, A Yoshimura Exhaust (just spend the money) and Chimera intake. Instant power!

    Next time could you please film with more light? Does the 22 MY need the Chimera rod bar between the shrouds when you get rid of the OEM airbox? Thanks!

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, limited light because it was storming pretty hard outside. It seems like you don't need to rod (I'm not sure if one is even available yet for the '22), the fairings seem pretty stiff although not as stiff as it was with the airbox, I'll see once I start riding it around...

    Am I the only one who wants to put speakers on the small black inner panels? I feel like that would be a really fun custom mod but I haven’t taken the panel off to see if there is even room behind there to fit a speaker. 🤷‍♂️

    So after several months w this intake how do you feel about mmthbx vs chimera- I debating between the 2 - just bought a yoshimura full exhaust DHM1 cam and DHM ecu- now I’m looking for a intake - would like your input please ?

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't tried the MNNTHBX setup but a few things: The power is going to be very similar between the two. If anything the Chimera will have the edge since it has fewer bends, I also prefer aluminum over a silcone hose and K&N filters over DNA filters. The biggest reason why I'd recommend the Chimera is that you can then run the new Kitaco cooler that goes in place of the stock airbox: th-cam.com/video/3BiIAcyCTPY/w-d-xo.html you can't run the MNNTHBX filter with that.

    • @civic2323
      @civic2323 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eastcoastish yea I totally forgot about the number of bends - that’s why on other vids I’m seeing decreased hp

      I’m on a 2022 Grom

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Low enough that the engine stalls? If not, there’s no issue with a low idle. If you want more control over fuel management though go with aRacer. I’m not a fan of dynojet products on the Grom. I’ve got a few videos or the RCMini5/X on my channel.

    • @King-zz8ry
      @King-zz8ry ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eastcoastish yes, it does stall when I first start the engine and I have to give it a bit of gas until it’s warm enough but then it runs with a low idle without stalling, and thank you I will definitely check out the products and videos!!

    Can someone help? I have a 2022 Grom and a yoshi RS-9T and Chimera intake on the way. Ive looked at some Aracer products and am a little confused exactly what the purpose is. I WOULD like the use the Yoshi and Chimera for the louder pipe (safety and aesthetics/pleasing noise) as well as performance benefits. Would I be able to run both the intake and exhaust without tuning the ECU/replacing it with something like the Aracer mini 5? Would I need to get the AFR module in addition to the Mini 5? If not, what benefits do these parts add? Open to all info or even just a link to some info that can help me wrap my mind around this.

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are just doing the intake and exhaust, I'd get your stock ECU tuned by DHM, that's definitely the more affordable route. And if it's only those two mods, you can probably get away without doing anything to the ECU but you may run a little lean.
      If you're planning on doing more extensive mods, a stand alone system like the RCMini5+AF1 module allows you to constantly tune the fueling, timing and other parameters to run optimally.

      I'm a bit late, but I installed mine today. My screw stripped out as I was trying to remove it. I ended up just taking a pair of plyers to the clamp itself and pried it off. Messed up the clamp, but I don't really plan to reuse it.

    I still think I'm going to wait until the DNA stock fit high flow filter comes out and then just increase the size of the intake boot. I think it is traditionally called rad hose mod. Apparently it is much quieter and not a fan of how this looks.
