Great video Will definitely adjust my grom to my liking. Hey by the way I’ve been looking for oem fairing for my 2022 grom or even aftermarket ones and I can’t seem to find any. Let me know if you can help Thanks 🙏
Hi there, I’m riding my Grom to work and have a few hills to go up, prior to having the Grom I had a big Harley and never worried about the rpms… when going up hills it slows down in 5th, am I able to keep it in 4th without damage? Sorry if this is a stupid question! Do I do any harm if it’s reving high for a bit of time… no where near red line? Any advice would be appreciated
Anybody on here know why my gear indicator isn’t working? All i see is dashes inside the box where it should say what gear in i’m. The guy i bought it from put a white name plate in the front of the bike replacing the headlight so now there’s just wires there. Could it be something there?
The LCD brightness and shift light brightness are different settings. The LCD brightness is part of the menu that includes the clock adjustment. To get to it, you hold both SEL and SET while turning on the key (instead of just holding SEL to get to the menu with the shift light brightness). Check out page 26 of the manual that I linked in the description.
I thought the light was some kinda rev limiter 😅 telling me when to shift seems weird. Ill wanna shift differently in different situations. Dont tell me what to do!!
So I just got my first grom, and learning to shift. When This light comes on does it mean to shift or does it mean that you should have shifted already? And does it work with down shifting?
Congrats on getting a Grom! The flashing light means it recommends you shift. It's not a hard requirement, you can keep going all the way up to about 8,500 RPM if you like, but if you're learning to ride, that light is a helpful reminder. Eventually, you'll start shifting just by the feel and sound of the engine. The light doesn't really help with down shifting, once you feel like you're going too slow for the gear you're in, you'll feel it, and going down a gear will give you the power back. Good luck!
I think the manual transmission is great and makes this a fun bike and a great one to learn a manual transmission on. That said, the Honda Navi is going to have an auto CVT transmission and I've got a deposit down on one :)
@@eastcoastish bro I'm going back and forth on the 2022 Navi or 2020 grom (I like this body style more more the 2022)or 2022 grom(I prefer to buy something new). I never had a bike before so this purchase will be my first. I have a little experience driving manual cars. It wasn't so bad but it just seems like a waste of time. I don't know if it's worth it to have both a navi and a grom. Or choose one. And which one to get first.
@@eastcoastish Hey which one did you end up getting? I’m the same right now. Don’t know what to get, I’m also planing on using it for food delivery. Even though automatic would be more comfortable… I’m kind of going more for the Grom
@@MikyMiguel777 get what you can because i heard honda is ceasing the production of some of their bikes including the grom due to supply chain issues. i had deposits on both the navi and grom and opted for the grom.
I appreciate this video it helped eliminate one of the very few complaints I had on my first ride.
This video is a life saver specially after a stage 3 from DHM install it was driving me crazy seeing the light so soon lol
Just purchased my 2022 grom a week ago and haven’t read the manual. Definitely needed this. With the roads around here it stays flashing
Congrats and ride safe!
Bought mine used and it didnt come with a manual, thanks man. This is a really useful tip
Thanks, you make clearer than the manual.
Thanks for this. Just changed it on mine. It was useless beforehand!
Thanks a bunch! Mine also lit up at around 6500rpm. Going to change it later.
Great info, thank you for making these videos.
Cool. I’m getting one in 2 weeks or so. I’ll definitely be using this
Awesome to know, thank you!
Thank you for making this!!! This also works on my 2021 Honda CB300R. Pretty much same set up except I start to red line just above 10k
Thanks for that. Just set mine up.
Thank you for this video..
Thank you much fine sir
Muchísimas gracias me a servido de mucho

The brightness setting also sets the lcd back light

where would you set a shift light on a stage 2 dhm cam and ecu upgrade
As high as you can. 8250 like he did in the video...

This'll work on 2024 hey?
Yep, same.
Change when necessary no matter what at 60 it will blink.

@@eastcoastish Thank you so much!!
I set the same you why my Honda Grom can run 84kmh?
84 kmh is about 52mph, are you saying that's your Grom's top speed?
@@eastcoastish yes
When is the best rpm to change gears on grom 2022?
Completely depends on what you want. Just cruising around, maybe 6k? Trying to pull out everything per gear, 9k+
@@eastcoastish thanks
They should just make an automatic grom.
