Thank you for this to-the-point, easy to understand video! I watched this 2 years ago when I first got this pump for my 2nd baby. Watching again now in preparation for baby #3 😊
I just got my smartpump (first version) from insurance 3 weeks ago and while I loved the settings the connector was a nightmare to wash and put together/take apart! I had some extra spectra valve connectors on hand and was able to HACK the lansinoh pump to work with the back flow connectors from spectra and I attached one of the connectors to work with the medela parts. Now I just remove them connector from the flanges rather than need to remove tubing each time. TOTAL GAMECHANGER!
Glad you found a system that works for you momma! Just make sure to regularly clean those backflow protectors! With the moisture then can grow mold if they aren't aired out!
Thanks for this video. It was so helpful. It's been 4 days and I didn't know how to operate my machine. But today I achieved milk. Thanks, I was a little upset at first but I'm ready now. Blessings to you and yours. :)
@@MommaAlia Someone asked u about y u only single pump & u never answered, wassup with that when u've answered everyone else ?!? That's rude, if u prefer not to answer just say so !!! 🤷🏽♀️🙄
Omg thank you so much for making this video! Im 9 months pregnant with my first baby and I have NO clue what I’m doing when it comes to pumps. I read the instructions and got so overwhelmed with all the parts. I got a set that included alot of extra things and it just discouraged me not knowing how to work anything. This video really helped and made it look so simple! I do have a question, when it comes to cleaning these, especially the tubing, how do you do it? Like whats the right way? Iv been given alot of information from special soaps to disinfectant wipes to sanitizer machines and again just overwhelmed lol. I dont know what is right with all the info out there. What are the best options in your opinion?
Happy to help! I know there's so much to learn but you got this momma! As far as cleaning and sterilizing go, just the stuff that comes in contact with the milk. So you do not have to clean or sanitize the tubing UNLESS milk somehow backs up into them. That's rare though if you have everything going properly so you shouldn't ever really need to clean them. You will keep an eye on the tubing though because sometimes condensation (totally normal to have some) can cause some mold growth in them. If you see mold, throw them out and buy some new ones! You'll want to regularly/daily clean your pump parts and sanitize them when you get a chance. I think the actual guideline is more often than that but motherhood will keep you busy with a million other things lol! You can boil parts in hot water on the stove in a pot, use microwave bags, or some kind of counter top sterilizer. Just whatever you want to do! And again, you won't need to worry about the tubing when it comes to that, just the pump parts and bottles that touch milk (:
Thank you so much for this video! I've been ending my pumping sessions when one bottle gets full and the other one's not quite done because I didn't know that you could plug one side and continue single pumping!
First time mom (little one due end of April) and want to toggle between breast and pumping. This video has made my life way less overwhelming when learning how to do this all for the 1st time! Silly question.. how do I know which flange size I am?
It helps to be sized by someone who knows how to do it! The Facebook group Breast, Bottle, and Beyond has admins who can do that for you! If you’re on Instagram I can send some info graphic pictures that can help measure yourself if you’re more comfortable with that!
Thank you so much ! This video was very informative and helpful. Someone recommended this pump and I’m glad because i actually love the breastfeeding accessories this brand has ,
Thank you for the video. I tried connecting to my Bluetooth, but for some reason it’s not connecting. Do you have any troubleshoot tips on how to connect?
I wish I had looked more into pumps when I was pregnant with my first. I got the medela PISA and it’s fine but I don’t think it worked for me very well. Thankfully I get a new pump each pregnancy, it doesn’t matter that they are so close in age 🤣 I decided to get the Motif duo for portability but I think I may go ahead and buy myself a new “wall pump” 🤷🏼♀️ this looks like a good option!!
Thank you so much for such a thorough review of this pump! I was hesitant to order it initially because it's fairly new and lacked reviews. Your videos helped me decide to go with this pump. I also found some second hand Medela oval flanges in various sizes, so it's good to know they will fit! I do have a question, when you pump around the house, do you carry it around in a bag or anything? I'm thinking of adding a strap to the carry handle to wear around the house if I need to lol.
You’re so welcome!! I’m so glad it could help! I don’t really pump on the move anymore being so far postpartum but I think a strap or bag would work really well!
Thank you! That depends on what you put in. Standard batteries would need to be replaced each time. But if you bought rechargeables for it, then you would just re-charge!🥰
Is the valve suppose to have a hole? I didn’t examine them before I went to boil them for their first sanitization after taking them out of the box and now I’m at a loss if the boiling water caused it or if it was already like that😂 it would make sense that there’s a hole but I just want to make sure.
I wanted your advice between this one and medela flex. I have realised that the flex is much louder, thou smaller in size. I’m looking at something that I could take to office and maybe pump there once or twice as needed so pump needs to be on the quieter side.
I just got this pump but I’m having trouble downloading the app for my iPhone. Can you help me please? I’m trying to get the hang of how to work the pump before baby comes
It should be available in the App Store/Google Play Store. If you’re still having trouble reach out to Lansinoh customer service! They’re very helpful and friendly!
Hi! I know it’s been some time since you’ve did this video, but how does this compare to the Medela MaxFlow? I am ordering through insurance. With my last pregnancy, I used EvenFlo..so I’m new to these brands.
I’m looking for a pump that doesn’t vibrate (something that has really smooth operation similar to medela symphony), has slow cycle length options, and is portable. Bonus for having changeable batteries. This sounds good but it seems like it still vibrates with operation? Is there something that would suit me better?
I see u have a few reviews with different pumps and im going to watch them next but as of now I have my choices narrowed down between this, the motif luna, and the motif duo. Can u give me your opinion on which of the 3 you feel is the best option and why? Thanks for your help in advance!!
If you need something super compact and plan to travel regularly the Duo is probably better. If you’re interest in more of a hum vibration and strong suction, the Luna is probably best. And if you need something that’s a bit of both of those, the 2.0 is it! I personally have used the 2.0 as my daily pump for over a year and a half now without issue!
I am very interested in this pump - my LO is 2 weeks old and I want to start transitioning to nearly EP for work. I’m worried about availability of parts and replacement parts. I’ve looked and it doesn’t seem like it’s easy to find diaphragms to replace for example. Also I’m a 21mm and it only comes with 25 and 30 I believe. Any advice? Can this be hacked to use with other flanges/ connectors or is there an adaptor to convert it for narrow bottles like medela or dr brown? Thanks! It’s between this pump and Pumpables but this pump is a bit cheaper and Insurance did not confirm if they would cover Pumpables.
They have replacement parts on amazon but individual parts on their online store. In my experience of ordering individual parts from their online store, they ship pretty fast. You can use a Medela 21 mm flange. That’s what I do and it works perfectly. There’s an orange Hygeia adapter that fits the connector and allows standard bottles to be used
Okay thanks! I went ahead and ordered it off the website with your code and just bought two extra pump part sets. I couldn’t find a working link for the hygeia adapter but I’ll keep looking!
Does this pump feel more like the medela PISA Or the spectra s2. I’m asking because I tried spectra and did not like the vibration/suckling on my nipples and it didn’t empty my breast. It was painful too. Does this one work with similar vibrations on the nipple? Or you have the option on the modes so it doesn’t do this?
That's a tricky question. I have used both of those pumps and while they were both okay for me, I never loved either of them. The Lansinoh however is still my daily pump at nearly 2 years postpartum! In part because it doesn't feel like either of those pumps. While I would say it has more vibration than the Medela it's not as gentle as the Spectra. And it offers more options for settings than either of them! If you're on Instagram, send me a message over there and I can give more details if you'd like them!
Anyone experienced losing suction power? I just started using it a week ago and it has worked fine until yesterday. I have tried different flange sizes as i was initially their 30.5 mm and I tried the 25 and 27 but no luck so I am waiting to receive the 32 mm and hopefully that is the problem. I also checked the duck valve. The membrane is touching the top of the screw on cover as i pump, could that be the issue?
Pumping is breastfeeding! But I nurse after delivery because I like to and it makes it easier. But with all my births I was pumping while I was in the hospital too. For my oldest and youngest it was to relieve engorgement only, with our middle daughter she struggled with blood sugar numbers so it was necessary to give her additional milk. After about two weeks postpartum I typically transition over to exclusively pumping. With our youngest I nursed randomly here and there for about 4 months but mainly exclusively pumped. You can do whatever combination of feeding you'd prefer as long as it's safe and healthy for baby!
This video was so helpful. I can’t understand why Lansinoh couldn’t make a close up video like yours for assembly. Thanks so much! ❤️❤️
Happy to help momma!🥰

I don’t notice a difference actually! I change them when they get down to the one line indicator on the pump!

I haven’t tried those! But I know MAM and Joovy bottles did work with them!
