Impressive. One slip, trip, or stubbed toe at 40+km/h is gonna be very bad though. Maybe in future designs, you could dynamically adjust the stride length to help achieve greater speeds. This way, the feet spend more time in the air, making it less likely to trip on smaller obstacles. Longer strides at high speed means fewer leg movements and could also possibly reduce power consumption.

Clever as this is, the anchor stops it moving from rotating, which makes the problem a lot easier to solve. I understand that it needs to be tethered for power but it shouldn't use the tether to stabilise it.

Very impressive especially considering that this was achieved 10 years ago. However, the spinning tail design for stabilization has disadvantages such as wearing out and being potentially hazardous as it spins. Also, a "real" animal tail doesn't really spin like this in a plane and repeated manner.

Reste deux points noirs : la source d'énergie, on est est nul dans le stockage, et l'intelligence, l'IA n'a pas encore tenu toutes ses promesses. Mais ça viendra, et là, le monde sera soit merveilleux, soit un vrai cauchemar...
