      @blueorangeblossom 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

well now there is a reason-the virus is not stopped by a regular mask; the particles are too small. dust might be-(unless N-95) however if it is fumes a respirator is better. You can get them at hardware stores like Lowe's or home depot, We used them in art school to filter out solvents like spray glues or spray aerosol paint. (The regular masks and N-95 though have particles of their own-and also make you breathe less oxygen in general, causing you to breathe in the same air over and over-over time this can affect your health.)

the numbers surrounding race are inflammatory and false, asian communities tend to live in areas with above ground transit such as the D line in brooklyn and the 7 line in queens. the rest of the areas are very diverse.
As far as underground stations, higher income areas do have better air quality but it has nothing to do with different people being underserved for any reason other than money

And naturally stations above ground have better ventilation.
That said air quality is pretty shitty across the city, even in Asian/White neighborhoods.

DYSTOPIA is a term that refers to an imagined world or society in which people lead wretched, dehumanized, fearful lives. It is a speculated community or society that is undesirable or frightening. The term is derived from the Ancient Greek words δυσ (dus) meaning "bad" and τόπος (tópos) meaning "place".

You see the peeling paint in the subway? That’s lead paint from decades ago.
MTA workers usually die not too long after retirement due to inhaling that toxic air and steel dust for years.
MTA has gotta an excess of money from New Yorkers and their main focus each time is upgrading their methods of fare collection. Everything else if not a priority that’s why they have a domino effect of issues that have piled up to the point that it’s recognizable to riders. The bosses have been benefiting from the money for years and now they want to push for congestion pricing w/ claims it’s the only way to fix the issues.
That’s a lie congestion prices is a new way for them to collect indefinite funds. If it’s ever passed it will bot be temporary. They will always give excuses on why it should be increased.
It’s just a new way for those at the top to continue to collect.
The old way isn’t working anymore b/c ppl realize they’ve been paying for increased fare and and there’s been no significant improvements.
This is the domino effect of the wealth gap as well. Reason being is b/c ppl can’t afford the cost of living and NOW they refuse to pay for transportation after years on paying and seeing no significant change, yet there is always an increase. The people can no longer afford it and they still need to get to work to collect their below cost of living checks.
This is how gluttony works they eat all of theirs then they eat yours and when everything is finished they are looking around at ppl as if they aren’t the issue and demand more from empty hands. Meanwhile ppl have been telling them their greed will be the downfall of everyone.
New Yorkers are over taxed and exhausted. They are doing to drive ppl out of this city and there will be no one here to fund their greed. This city is going to collapse economically.

Texas power companies profit during power outages because Republican lawmakers created a system for them to.
You could say the Texans are also "enjoying the environment they voted for; the Republican dream."
Democratic states have less poverty than Republican States. Look at Alabama/Louisiana/Mississippi.

I lived right near the BQE in Dowtown Bklyn for a few years in the late 1990s: I would get regular unexplained nosebleeds and weird sinus issues living there on a 2nd floor shared building
apt. boarding house type place. (now a 10 million dollar building) Once I moved elsewhere, that never occurred again. Not even from the subway, although that could've contributed
    as well.

They are actually right though. Asian communities live near subway platforms that are above ground.
And naturally stations above ground have better ventilation.
That said air quality is pretty shitty across the city, even in Asian/White neighborhoods.
I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell the city smells and is dirty af.

There isn't really a need for a study, New Yorkers always knew the air quality isn't that great.

What a spit in the face to riders. Newer trains with regenerative braking tech pollute far less and good ventilation systems are also critical in cases of fires underground. Rather than spitting in peoples faces the agency should use this as ammunition to advocate for more funding to improve ventilation and purchase new trains.
