"Unless someone stuck it on there themselves." It's hilarious when people put AMG badges on regular C300s, CLS550s or S550s. It's counter-intuitive b/c the people that actually care/know about cars can easily tell that's fake😂
Manufacturers need to stop with this gloss black plastic crap in their cars. It just attracts dust and the second you clean it you'll start seeing small swirl marks which just looks worse over time. The matte finish wood trim or carbon fiber trim looks far better. Other than that this CLS is a total beast. Every Benz I've been in new or old has that rock solid hefty feel yet they move with authority when floored. Just as comfortable at 140 MPH as you would be at 40 MPH.
@@RaitisRides : yes and this is from someone that has owned 4 CLSs currently a 2014 CLS550. I just can't get past the Command display placed on the dash and not in it for 2015 to 2018. Guess I have to go to the S-Class coupe. I'm shopping for one right now. :)
Great review Joe! 9-speed TCT automatic transmission is super smooth and silky! Ride quality is unparalleled! It doesn't sound quite rights but its a gorgeous car! I reviewed it a few weeks ago, and loved each luxurious piece of it! Premium quality in the interior - nothing is cheap in this CLS 53 AMG - carbon fiber everywhere, leather dash, etc.
For 75k, go get a 2018 M5 or 2018 E63 and if you like Audi get the RS7. Much more powerful cars that perform better at that price point. And if you like American you can go Hellcat, Gt350, Zl1 Ect...

The way I see it is: A small nimble car that doesn’t break the bank (especially at the pump) and keeps you from getting unwanted speeding tickets all while providing great driving rewards, well that’s a win by my book. Maybe that’s why the Miata is the most widely sold roadster since forever, worldwide! I also kinda want one for nostalgic purposes. I had an ‘88 RX7 vert and it made me smile daily.
Like the way they put the informant center in the dash like the challenger not sticking up like you glued a laptop on the dash manufacturers should take notice like Tesla.But have to give it a Zonk price and depreciation and reliability.

There was a time when the CLS stood out. Now it just looks like a big A class. For $94k I need wow. On the bright side Mercedes interiors are now way ahead of BMW.
PapayaMan Agreed, when I see these wheels on this or other Mercedes models, I think the same thing. Not very exciting for this car. Although, this is a great car.
At $94k its supposed to be competing with the BMW M3 and I feel that its not sufficiently equipped for that. It deserved better wheels and brakes and a tad bit higher performance figures from the engine to make potential M3 buyers think twice.
you know I really miss the days when Benz named there cars after the engine placement. 32, 43, 55, 63 I remember those engine placement numbers. Now they just pick a engine throw it in car and give it a number you never heard of...53?!?!? Infiniti does this same thing with these confusing number names and don't get me started with Jaguar they are the worst

You can easily do simple tune and this car will be over 500 hp or more I’m planning to get this or e53 and tune it there is a lot of places that do tuning where doesn’t affect the car at all or fuel economy the car will be same only thing the changes is the hp some people go do some cheap tuning for few 100 bucks I don’t trust those real tuning at a shop cost 1500$ at least I would say 800 to 1500$ if I ever buy this or e53 as soon I leave the dealer I’m at tuning shop

Wow, Mercedes definitely stole some styling cues from VW on this car. Namely the steering wheel and the trunk release button.
