Funny how you forget a name until they die. Used to love this guy as a kid. RIP Kelly

I loved this as a kid - and It's Garry Shandling's Show, which is so inspired by it.

Unlike many so-called comedians this guy was actually funny without being obnoxious. His comedy inspired the type of "over-educated" singing comedy that I do today as an old man. RIP Kelly Monteith a true original funny man.

I've been trying to remember this guy's name for years. Loved his show. Now I find he has died. Sad to be reminded who he is that way. RIP Kelly Monteith a very funny guy.

I loved this as a 16 year old. This guy came out of the blue on the BBC. Was very shortlived. I wonder what made the BBC decide to show it?

Probably the fact he’d made such a good impression on The Des O’Connor show.

Just heard that he has died but didn't recognise the name.
After a quick TH-cam search I found this video .. oh yes, I remember him now. I did find his show funny, hard to believe it was 44 years ago
    RIP Mr Monteith

That link was from 1980 was when I was 20 and now looking at it with its clipped BBC diction, it looks like something from the 1950.

RIP Kelly. This show mentions the Queen mothers 80th birthday celebration so, seeing as she was born on August 4th 1900, this must mean that the 1979 date mentioned is wrong and this must be a recording of a repeat of the series a year later. Incidentally well done for having a working VCR of a long dead format. Philips dropped the N1700 around 1980 to start pushing their new V2000 format and machines on the public (the forgotten third format in the VHS v Betamax war). This 42 year old tape holds up pretty well considering its age.
