The first time I encountered a battered burger was around the year 2000 aged 10 from my local chippy. I bit into it and hot oil squirted all over my face haha🤣 was really nice! despite the burnt face haha. Top review guys

ooooo the hot oil experience not so good. You know the battered burgers from the chip shop ain't that bad. Their fried burgers do seem to have some substance. Deep frying does give a better experience than the oven can muster, perhaps not so good on the calories though. Last time we were in a chippy, £2.50 for a portion of chips... where have those prices come from haha. We are pleased you enjoyed the video, you're support is awesome. Wishing you a great start to the week, Shane and Lisa :)

Hi Bev, it's not one we will repeat but you know there will be people out there who will love them. Different tastes make the world an interesting place as they say. The chips, they were fine, lots of extra stuff in that coating but for something different they work. We would recommend a sauce or gravy to go with them. Hope the week has started out good, wishing you a great week ahead, Shane and Lisa xx

    Burgers looked awful!
I’m also thinking I think looking at all the artificial stuff on the chips I’d rather just make my own and stick some real salt and vinegar on!!
Thanks to you both for trying these things so we don’t have too! 😂❤ xx

      Hi Kate,
Burgers not to our taste but sure some will enjoy. The chips did have lots of extras as ingredients for the coating. A plateful really does need some sauce/gravy as they can get dry in our experience.
Home made with salt and vinegar definitely keeps the ingredients in check.
For something different they we not too bad, and saved the burger haha.
'trying stuff so we don't have too...' that has a ring to it haha.
Hope you have a great afternoon, Shane and Lisa xx

the burgers remind me of a spam fritter

Put against Spam the Spam would win for us. These were lacking taste in our opinion. Shame because the box looks promising. Some might think they are the bees knees but didn't work for us. Hope you are having a great start to the week, Shane and Lisa xx

The cheese was a little on the light for sure haha. Not one for us but sure some will tuck into them and love 'em. Hope you have had a good start to the week, Shane and Lisa xx

Wow Lisa's face was awesome. I knew without her having to say a word how bad those burgers were going to taste lol. But when Lisa cut into that burger it just litterally struck me as if the burger was almost uncooked. Grill house has actually let me down on this because im always buying the Grill House Donner Meat which i like and the chihuahua's love. And they struck me as if they stole the burgers from macdonalds because they were that thin. The fries im confused with. Now either your camera is doing a karen carpenter and putting more size to them or their obese fries impersonating chip's. I personally wont buy the chips because of the salt as i dont like salt on my chips. But if your kids get on your nerves you have the perfect burger to punish them lol.
    Have a great day 😁

Just read your comment and got us thinking have we reviewed the donner meat. Dug out the video th-cam.com/video/EXG-CgbvSKU/w-d-xo.html however this brand was King Kebab House but the meal was really good. Not sure we have seen the Grill House brand Donner Meat in Iceland, will take a look out next time we are in there.
There was a lacking of colour beyond the batter, expect that is the nature of oven cooking instead of frying perhaps?
Size wise you are correct, the 'fries' we of a size in between fries and chips.
Our day is good, thank you. Tomorrows video edited and scheduled which helps the workload a little.
Wishing you a great afternoon, Shane and Lisa xx

@@ShaneAndLisa I looked at that vid and you hit it on the head. That was the brand i would always get but then for some reason they stopped with that brand and bought the grill house one in. Because i always bought it every month my neighbour would end up grabbing a bag of me. But i never microwave as it takes much longer to cook as you always have cold bit. I usually oven it at 200c for 10 minutes and its definately something to die for. The grill house although very nice just isnt king kebab. But its just as good.

We enjoyed that meal. The brand name could even be down to who wins a supply contract, imagine freezer space is a premium on which items they can stock. All this talk about kebab though is making us think kebab now rather than our next review haha

Tinned westler burgers are rotten they are even worse than battered burgers if that's possible

Hi Andrew, ahhh yes that was the brand we were thinking of in the video 'Westler' blue and white logo. Food in a Tin vs Food in the freezer haha we might give them a try later in the year. Thanks for adding this to the comments, appreciated. Wishing you a great week ahead, Shane and Lisa :)

@@ShaneAndLisa I saw these exact burgers in Heron's Food. A 4 pack for 2 quid, just in a see through bag without the fancy packaging. I don't mind Iceland's pound range but everything else is an utter rip-off you can find in smaller frozen outlets at much cheaper prices.

Wow... thanks for taking the time to add this comment, very much appreciated. We have been meaning to visit Heron for a while. We shall have to bring that up the list. Best wishes, Shane and Lisa :)
