Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the amount of passion they put into playing this song... It's amazing. God, loved this song since '10, but never watched the live videos.
Talented children I have been protecting until now. Meet Local Natives. I know how to make a celebration of every sound they create. The young man try to hide his beauty in the corner is my spirit sound maker
I've seen them live multiple times, and I honestly look forward to just this specific song. Its so good, and it pumps ups the crowd. This is a fun song live!
KEXP - Why can't other stations be about the music like KEXP? All I have found is KCRW when I'm in LA but haven't quite found any other station like these.
I heard rumors, but I had no idea Andy ACTUALLY left the band! :< I'm gonna miss him. He was so... Unique! Oh, well. I hope that the gang find someone perfect for them...
Hi, I kinda just got into indie music and I would love it if anyone out there knows of any other bands that you find good, besides local natives? If so, let me know! I've been listening to old music all my life, and it's about time I listen to something that I can go watch in concert :)
Portugal the man! They are amazing just check out pretty much any of there songs... Idk if they are indie but they make some damn good music and their acoustic versions are unexplainable
@crornel If this is one of their 'bad' performances I just fell in love with this band a little more. I have only listened to their cd, but they are definitely so much better live.
the most specific genre i can think of is Indie Folk, because it has those very folkish harmonies and vocals yes indie instrumentals. Similar bands: Fleet Foxes, Bombay Bicycle Club, Young the Giant
Foals, Frightened Rabbit, Devotchka, We Are Scientists, James Vincent McMorrow, Bon Iver (older stuff),Tune Yards, Lonely Forest, Black Angels, Boxer Rebellion
phiNjustin The guys behind the glass with the sound boards are controlling levels. They don't have Taylor's guitar level up nearly loud enough. The performance itself is solid.
im sorry but I am pretty sure beefheart knew exactly what he was doing.. it is the very reason he is often categorized with math rock, another very complex genre. not to mention he was friends with Zappa who was distinctly classically trained
Fleet foxes, Midlake, Iron and Wine, Hey Rosetta!, Lonely Forest, The Tallest Man On Earth, Of Monsters And Men, Band Of Horses, Said The Whale, Stornoway ect...
@lateralust What do you mean? They obviously have amazing talent, or else why would anyone listen to them? And they don't sound *at all* like they don't know what they're doing. They're perfect in their sound, obviously due to some serious practice. Not just chance. They are talented.

El tiempo pasa muy pronto, pero es un gusto y una alegría siempre volver a escuchar esta canción.
Kelcey's always so much more into it than the others haha I'm crying

wow... may have found a new favorite band.
I've seen them live multiple times, and I honestly look forward to just this specific song. Its so good, and it pumps ups the crowd. This is a fun song live!
Words cannot describe how lovely these guys are. And how amazing Taylor's mustache is. I bet he gets all the ladies ;D
man these guys are so good live. saw them in chicago with the national, so good.
KEXP - Why can't other stations be about the music like KEXP? All I have found is KCRW when I'm in LA but haven't quite found any other station like these.
@hkim927 They've been playing this song since they were still Cavil At Rest. We are in dire need of some new material for sure!
Well, Ron, you know what they say, bad with magic, good with drums
and that ladies and gentleman is...
talent
seriously.
one of the best 6 minutes and 37 seconds of my existence.
I heard rumors, but I had no idea Andy ACTUALLY left the band! :< I'm gonna miss him. He was so... Unique! Oh, well. I hope that the gang find someone perfect for them...

Simply my favorite
One of my favourite songs, it made me so happy to see it uploaded!!
I am a fan of The Dear Hunter. I am actually going to see them in concert in a few weeks too.
I could not agree more. he's the reason I watch this video.
How can you dislike this???
I don't know what planet you come from, but on Earth we call this talent.
I'm in love with every single one of them. I wish to kiss them each on their foreheads. These men are geniuses.
second best band ive ever seen live, a close second to dave matthews
wow!
NOW THAT WAS AMAZING!!
can't believe how good they are! duh!
this sounds totally new to me, it's impressively powerful and intens, great!
Kelcey is just incredible.
we want andy back!!!!
I love this band even if there are some ouch moments with the harmonies, they just have a very fresh approach and are very winning.
im sorry that is utterly spectacular
oh sweet jesus the sound is inexplicable and the feel is a natural high
I love this songg!
Best performance
this is amazing. i must see them live!
dying. i love them.
SO GOOD.
Some people just don't know how to mix...... BGV's should not be out in front of lead vocals. That's all :) Love these guys
i think they do exactly know what they do, and they rock...
i really like their drummer, very innovative and variable play.
but of course i love the entire band :D
All I saw was red stripes and a BEAST of a mustache.
I knew at that moment I had to watch this video. 0_0
Portugal the man! They are amazing just check out pretty much any of there songs... Idk if they are indie but they make some damn good music and their acoustic versions are unexplainable
well somebody mixed this wrong. the background is louder than the lead! wtf!
what a GREAT mustache my friends!
Jesus Christ I love this band
The energy...
@crornel If this is one of their 'bad' performances I just fell in love with this band a little more. I have only listened to their cd, but they are definitely so much better live.
Wow, these guys are freakin' good!
I love this! It reminds me of Modest Mouse in an odd sort of way :)
Dear god yes! Wonderful!
His voice.....
the most specific genre i can think of is Indie Folk, because it has those very folkish harmonies and vocals yes indie instrumentals. Similar bands: Fleet Foxes, Bombay Bicycle Club, Young the Giant
If they let loose like this more often....
This is amazing. I saw them in Utrecht about two years ago and never heard from them since. What happened?
Foals, Frightened Rabbit, Devotchka, We Are Scientists, James Vincent McMorrow, Bon Iver (older stuff),Tune Yards, Lonely Forest, Black Angels, Boxer Rebellion
Higuain what are you doing?!
Lol
Richard Ball holy shit
:v
Fantastic!
this was amazing
what you say sounds rude but I know what you mean and I love em too..they really do have something quite unique even if dodgy at times.
i understand that everyone has their own taste, but what is there to dislike here?!
indie i love the thumb thumb
Man these guys are awesome! nice bass btw lol
I honestly think there is a sound problem here. Maybe they had problems hearing each other? the levels are definite wrong
You're right. I think so too. Because the KCRW performance on TH-cam is perfect.
Or they could just be off that day.
phiNjustin
LOCAL NATIVES NEVER HAVE AN OFF DAY
phiNjustin The guys behind the glass with the sound boards are controlling levels. They don't have Taylor's guitar level up nearly loud enough. The performance itself is solid.
On record I found the song really dull but in live it's so far better !
I miss their old bass player :(
im sorry but I am pretty sure beefheart knew exactly what he was doing.. it is the very reason he is often categorized with math rock, another very complex genre. not to mention he was friends with Zappa who was distinctly classically trained
if you like this band try also "young the giant", the singer is exceptional --coming from someone who has heard gorilla manor countless times
This is their hardest song. watch them rage!! rage mustache rage
Omg. That is exactly what I was going to say. Which proves my theory, mustaches exude power...
Timmy Mercury?
so the source of an utterly beautiful voice......is epic facial hair? challenge accepted.....
stachetacular...
we had a president called aznar that used to wear one like yours
Higuaín, Wesley, Waldo
Fleet foxes, Midlake, Iron and Wine, Hey Rosetta!, Lonely Forest, The Tallest Man On Earth, Of Monsters And Men, Band Of Horses, Said The Whale, Stornoway ect...
modest mouse are pretty much the kings of indie music
@DscottFilms same thought!
@TwoHairsInOneHole You found Waldo!
@JonnyRocketfingers7 oh, unfortunate. i especially enjoy that handsome stache.
anyone else think it sounds like "i will possess your heart" at the beginning instrumental?
wow. just. wow. but yes.
the best.
@lateralust What do you mean? They obviously have amazing talent, or else why would anyone listen to them? And they don't sound *at all* like they don't know what they're doing. They're perfect in their sound, obviously due to some serious practice. Not just chance. They are talented.
