    We Just purchased a 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport to replace our aging 2007 Nisan Altima and add to our fleet of Hyundai Sonata and Honda Odyssey. $2284 invoice, less $1750 incentive from NMAC, and 0% APR for 72 months. I just bought a 2020 Rogue Sport and I have 2 major complaints that buyers should be aware of: It is grossly under powered and I have trouble accelerating when I suddenly need to, and second, it does't offer a dial pad on the touchscreen which I often need when in the middle of a phone call. If you are asked to select 1 for customer service, or 2 for the plumbing dept. etc, you can''t do it on your touchscreen because there is no dial pad. The dial pad is present on my 2018 Hyundai Kona but not on my 2020 Rogue Sport.

    In Europe you can have this Qashqai with a very economical Diesel (1.3L) and a manual transmission, so while it’s still slow, it’s also more reliable and more economical.

    • @dsugioaga
      @dsugioaga 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Manual - nice. Diesel - not so much. I hate it when there's a five or ten year old Diesel driving in front of me, emitting disgusting black clouds every time the driver hits the accelerator. Not to mention, the general problem with Diesel NOx and particle emissions. I'd stick with petrol/gasoline engines, even in Europe.

    • @kevinW826
      @kevinW826 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Herp McDerp I’d take the diesel. I’m looking at a diesel gate VW passat

    • @afcgeo882
      @afcgeo882 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Herp McDerp Two things: First, old Diesels weren’t properly controlled in North America, as far as emissions go, so those cloud-emitting cars would not be allowed on the streets today. Modern Diesels emit less CO2 than gasoline cars. Second, NOx emissions are controlled by urea tanks. This is a modern Euro 6d-temp engine. It’s cleaner than a 5 year-old gasoline in every way.

    • @dsugioaga
      @dsugioaga 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@afcgeo882 I was talking about my experience with Diesels in Europe, not North America. And that experience is not old.. it was like three years ago. Big dark Diesel plumes behind older Diesel cars are pretty common. They are also one of the main contributors to high particle emissions measurements in cities (like "Feinstaub" in Germany). Urea tanks are all fine and dandy in theory but they require refilling and maintenance in order to work correctly - and I think we all know how negligent some car owners tend to be over long periods of time. Plus, even with urea tanks, Diesels emit up to 10 times more NOx than petrol/gasoline engines. They DO emit less CO2, yes, but passenger cars emit only a tiny fraction of worldwide manmade CO2 - reducing CO2 emissions of the farming/agriculture and freight/logistics sector is much more important.
      @ Kevin Wright: Ugh, VW AND Diesel.. some people really have no taste, lol.

    • @afcgeo882
      @afcgeo882 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Herp McDerp Again, older Diesel cars are old, improperly maintained Diesel cars that don’t meet any standards anymore. It’s the same with petrol cars too. What are you, 80? Things do change.
      When urea tanks run out, cars cannot even be started! Stop with the ignorance!

  • @OldThomMerton

    IMO The 'tweener' segment is something that needs to be emphasized more . . . the smaller CUVs are mostly just city cars on steroids, but each has a fault or three (cargo area/usability, leg room/comfort, ride and handling, etc.) because it's hard to squeeze in everything on a small platform. The Compact CUVs on the other hand, well, I am just not excited about any of them.
    How about a 'Tweener' comparison : Seltos, Rogue Sport, MX-30. Crosstrek, Compass competition would answer a lot of questions for those who don't want to compromise on an HRV/Kicks/etc. but don't want the size and expense of a Compact . . . maybe a little multi-reviewer group (AoA, Redline, TFL, etc) could do this, giving everyone a chance to post their own opinions AND have a group video as well . . . just sayin'!

    Please use the internationally recognised units of kW, Nm etc and not the outdated HP & Ib-ft. Also litres not gallons or cu-ft and km not miles.
    Also why do you show radar adaptive cruise controls when you said that the car didn’t have the adaptive cruise???

    If you don't bring up its real competitors, then it looks only half bad. Dangerously slow and inefficent. Motor is solved worjed. Awful Jatco CVT. Yikes. CX30, Kona, Seltos all destroy this

    Here I go again. Horse head on a stick, and thermoses and what looks like a toilet float. You keep piling more crap on the wall. I must say I do like the ocean painting. It’s worth framing! Let that art stand on its own. The ships wheel is too rustic. What a mess! I watch all your reviews. You are so thorough. 👍

    Im a Nissan fanboy and I would call this a very cheap crappy car. CVT is bad and would never recommend anyone to buy a Nissan anytime, and I consider myself a (On and off) fanboy of the brand. Listen to your customers got it? It really makes me mad to see what crap you make today.

    Another example of a small highly stressed engine giving worse fuel economy than a larger one.

      In all honesty this seems to be more about drivetrain efficiency than simply a “small” engine issue.
